Maria Reyes EDU 250 Final Reflection The artifact I choose to demonstrate my progress in understanding the foundations of teaching

is my Educational Philosophy paper. I feel it shows what I expect of myself as a teacher and what I would like my future classroom to be like. In this paper I talk about the role I will play to my students of role model and guide. How I want my students to feel that school is a safe place where they are understood and can freely express themselves. I also discuss my beliefs on philosophies of progressivism and postmodernism. These are some of the reasons I belief this paper shows my understanding of the foundations of teaching and am very proud of myself for my progress made in this class.

Maria Reyes Class goals Reflection * Stay organized and manage my time wisely so I wont procrastinate. *Learn what are the concepts that make a learning environment productive and make the students feel welcomed. * Understand what the basics of creating a lesson plan are. * Comprehend the different diversities among students and how to help these students succeed in the classroom. * Develop my own philosophy in education.

These were my class goals for this semester; I have met most of them. I need a little bit more help with creating lesson plans and understanding the concepts that make a learning environment productive and make students feel welcomed. I also need more help with the diversity among students but I think that is a skill that I will learn once I am in the classroom. My class goals did not change during the semester but I will keep working on them and perfecting

them as time goes by. One I will constantly be working on is my time management. I can get very easily distracted so that is one of my long term goals that I constantly work on.
