    MaryAnne,aBritishscientific,discoveredthefirst fossilinEngland,in1828. Shestudiedthebodyanddiscoveredtheyate insects,fishandthattheycouldfly.

Itsskullhadfourvertebrae.Thefrontpart ofthejawhadbigteeth,similartofangs, andmanysmallteeth.Thelowerjawhad five longer teeth and thirty tiny, like a lancet. Skeleton has many "primitive" characters, like a very small brainpan andshortwings. The finger is longer than its arm. The neckwasshortbutstrongandflexible. The tail of Dimorphodon was long , with thirtyvertebrae.Thefirstfiveorsix were shortandflexible.
