WANTED: ALL MISSING ANGLES

$25,000 per angle If you succeed, you should expect to earn _____________________ dollars.
Name _______________________ Period _____ Points _____ Directions:

1. Using the rough draft paper, draw a straight line sketch that: a. Has between 5 and 8 straight lines b. Overlaps at least once c. Has at least a pair of parallel lines. 2. Measure all angles with a protractor. Write the measurement for each angle within the correct angle. Mark all right angles with a square. 3. Erase any angle measurements that do not relate to rules 1-7. 4. The goal is to leave the one angle that allows the maximum reward for the user of your WANTED poster. The one that remains will be the only clue you offer on your completed drawing on the other side of this paper. You may leave any right angle squares that you ve added. On your rough draft sketch, circle or highlight the angle that you re going to leave in your final drawing. This rough draft sketch will be the answer key for the WANTED poster. 5. Transfer your sketch to the opposite side of this paper neatly with a ruler or straight edge. Keep the angles accurate. 6. Write the one angle measure that you ve decided on in step 4 above on your drawing. 7. Determine how many angles a reward seeker should be able to find, multiply that number by $25,000 and write your total on the reward portion on the other side of this paper. 8. Turn in your rough draft sketch (answer key) and your WANTED poster by _____________.

7 rules for straight line shapes.

1. Opposite angles are the same 2. The sum of two angles that form a straight line = 180 degrees 3. The sum of two angles that form a right angle = 90 degrees When a transversal cuts through a set of parallel lines: 4. Alternate interior angles are the same 5. Alternate exterior angles are the same 6. Corresponding (same side) angles are the same 7. The sum of the 3 angles in a triangle = 180 degrees

No parallel lines are visible on the design.

n/a

1 or more pair of parallels are visible. Symbols for parallel are missing. One random angle will be chosen from the rough draft and your final copy. Both measures are no more than 3 degrees off. 1 error on angle measures

1 or more places exist where two or more lines intersect. Examples given in class. 1 or more sets of parallel lines are visible. Symbols for parallel are included. NOT AVAILABLE

The angle chosen is more than 10 degrees off on either the rough draft and/or the final copy. 3 or more errors on angle measures

One random angle will be chosen from the rough draft and your final copy. Both measures are between 4 10 degrees off. 2 errors on angle measures

Answer key rough draft Overall appearance of WANTED poster

no mistakes relating to angle measures :) NOT AVAILABLE.

Some lines not drawn with a aide of a ruler sloppy drawing

Ruler used for all lines. Pencil or thin line pen used.

Ruler used for all lines. Marker used so lines are thick and poster is easily visible from 10 feet away.
