Its Saturday. Carlos arrives in Seattle at 2:00pm. Its sunny and very hot. This weather isnt very common in this part of the United States. But Carlos doesnt know that. He is from Brazil. He is an exchange student. He is gonna stay with an american family for one year. Carlos is very excited, but a little worried because he doesnt speak english very well. His american family is waiting for him at the airport. They are very excited, too. But they dont know if Carlos speaks english at all. So, they are a little worried, too! Carlos has a picture of his american family. When he gets off the plane he recognizes all the family members: Mark is the father, Jan is the mother, the kids are Sheila and Julie. Mark says: Hello Carlos! Im Mark! Its great to meet you! Carlos says: Hi Mark! Its nice to meet you, too! Jan says: Hi Carlos! Im Jan! Carlos says: Hello Jan! And he hugs Jan. Carlos hugs Sheila and Julie. Sheila is 16 and Julie is 14. Sheila says: Welcome to America, Carlos! Carlos says: Thank you! Its great to be here! Julie says: Carlos, your English is very good! Carlos says: Its very nice of you Julie. But its not! They all go to the parking lot, get in the car and go home.
