Washer Lab Report

Shane Giles 7th Period

Purpose The purpose of this lab is to learn how to use the graphing features of Logger
Pro and to study the difference between linear and curved graphs.

Analysis
B6. The circumference is equal to pi times the diameter. D7. The area is the radius squared and then times pi. E1. The graph of the area table is a curved graph because of the fact that the equation used to calculate areas uses exponents while the circumference does not and so it is straight or linear. E2. The equations we produced are extremely close to the actual equations. They are only a few hundredths off because we cannot measure exactly perfect with the utensils we had at our disposal.

Conclusion This lab was a very solid introduction lab. It was simple and
straightforward. The lab taught me how to use a program I will be using a lot throughout the year. I also know the basics of what to expect in terms of labs for this class. The lab did not take a great deal of time; we measured our washers and entered in the data. Then we created graphs and tables and printed them out.
