TITLE: Music in Everyday Life SPECIFIC SPEECH PURPOSE: To inform my audience how music affects their lives in different aspects. THESIS STATEMENT: Music is very significant in our daily lives. It is vital to our mental development as well as to our body growth and in having a healthy lifestyle.

INTRODUCTION ATTENTION STEP: (start speech by playing music). Each one of us listens to different kinds of music. Its a bit absurd if there is a person who could not stand listening to it. Everyone does it. Even me, it has been my habit. If you are like me, you cant go a day without listening to music. When you are walking to your class, partying, relaxing, traveling, in the shower, before going to sleep, whenever and wherever music has been a part in our daily routines.

CLARIFICATION STEP: Today, Im going to talk about how music affects ones life in 4 different angles namely: music is academic, music is physical, music is emotional, music is spiritual and music is for life. BODY I. Music is in many ways is the fabric of our lives and the definition of society. It is a reminder of how things once were, an indication of how things are, and a view of where society is headed. Music is everywhere. Its rather good to know how it affects ones life academically, physically and emotionally.

A. Music is academic 1. Music is essential in a childs learning process and success. 2. It boosts up your self-esteem which helps you in facing your fears academically. 3. In your preschool years, you learn nursery rhymes that are intended to entertain and educate you. This is important for it serves as a primary step in developing your language skills and your understanding to the world at an early age. B. Music is physical When your still infants, you heard your first melodies as your mother hums to help you fall asleep which is needed for you to grow. 2. Music helps in developing a good health via music therapy especially to patients. 2.1 Helps fight cancer 2.2 Promote movement and ease muscle tension 2.3 Keeps patient calm 3. Music alleviates stress. C. Music is emotional 1. Different rhythms and melodies induce different responses from different people. 2. Music evokes strong emotional memories. When you hear a song, you tend to recall memories involving that particular song. 3. Music serves an outlet of expression. 1.

CONCLUSION SUMMARY STEP: Now, you know how music is very significant in our lives academically, physically and emotionally.

ACTION STEP: I hope this speech leads you to a better understanding of music. How it functions in our society how it helps ones learning and success. With this knowledge, you will know more about yourself, your role in the society and understand people around you.
