The Centennial community supports our schools. Yet even while our taxpayers are willing to pay about the same for a local referendum as other communities, the Centennial School District receives hundreds of dollars less per pupil in referendum revenue. The disparities with local referendum which is needed to make up for inadequate state funding means Centennial children are missing out on valuable educational opportunities. The quality of a child's education should not be dependent on where they live! governor must take steps in the 2012 Legislative Session to make the system more fair for Centennial's children and local taxpayers.
