DISCOVER THE OTHER CULTURES THROUGH E-LEARNING Summary The flow of information in the world is becoming faster and

faster. To encourage distant learning and to access information swiftly, e-learning is a slightly open the door waiting us to open wide. Considering modern communities are pretty well equipped with computer-based instruction elearning is no doubt an effective way to learn! In order to draw attention to the point which is elearning has far more familiarity to learners than conventional ways, our title is " Discover the other cultures through e-learning" which puts emphasis on the significance of interaction among cultures on the way of globalization. GOING ON Objectives Main goals are to develop intercultural awareness and share cultural values through e-learning. Through the activities in the frame of this plan the pupils will; Gain knowledge about other cultures by representing their own cultural values Participate in various activities with different social groups through planned e-learning activities, Understand the importance of e-learning in various areas. E-learning activities will be included in the time allocated for their computer-based learning process. Also students will be aware of the different aspects of education. Share new ideas and introduce their cultures through e-learning Develop themselves in versatile ways in various areas Learn to share in different ways Embrace the values of other cultures, because throughout the project students will take part in culture-sharing activities. Gain knowledge about the areas of e-learning. Students will learn how to use e-learning platforms (Wiziq, Adobe Connect, Vyew, GoToMeeting etc.) Be encouraged to take part in e-learning activities, with the help of the activities they will improve their ICT skills. Understand that learning is a lifelong process through e-learning Discover different identities of citizenship. Make acquaintance with school partners involved in the project. Develop communication techniques and language. Under the concept of our project; A booklet will be prepared including activities

Impacts Discover the other cultures through e-learning' will have impact on; a. Students and teachers -Students will be motivated to learn cultural values of other partners -Students will improve their foreign language communication skills for collaborating with the project partners -Students will take roles in intra-cultural and inter-cultural activities throughout the project -GOING ON..

b. Institutions -Institutions will take important roles in order to arise consciousness about different kinds of educational systems -Institutions will find out more information about other cultures via making video presentations. -The project will help strengthening relations between partners, institutions and parents. -Institutions will be stimulated to become aware of the fact the lower costs of swift transfer of information.-learning system will be expanded and promoted in schools.

Results And Outcome In order to get to know each other better, a web site will be designed and shared among partners. September, 2012 To develop relationships among partners and to improve ways of communication e-mail addresses will be exchanged between participants . October, 2012 In order to create a new logo of the project, a competition will be organized among partner schools. November, 2012 A corner (cupboard ) will be prepared in every school in order to introduce the content of the Project to the school community. December, 2012 GOING ON.. Culture Festival. June, 2014
