INTRODUCTION Gas to liquids (GTL) is a technological process of converting natural gas into liquid (synthetic) oil, which can

then be further processed into fuels and other hydrocarbon-based products. GTL process tears natural gas molecules apart and reassembles them into longer chain molecules, like those that comprise crude oil. This synthetic crude can then be refined into products such as diesel fuel, naphtha, wax and other liquid petroleum or specialty products, so that it can be easily and cheaper to transport it from places like Qatar, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Canada, Nigeria and Alaska to various places for profitable marketing.

METHODS FOR EXPLORATION OF NATURAL GAS There are on-going scientific methods or technology towards conversion of natural gas into liquid fuel. The following are two methods used to convert natural gas to liquid fuels, namely direct and indirect conversion of GTL. Furthermore, the main purpose of GTL technology is to convert natural gas into clean petroleum products. In actual principle, the above mentioned methods are often used in converting natural gas to liquid fuel (GTL). DIRECT CONVERSION

INDIRECT CONVERSION The above technology approach in principle involves the following steps:
