Social dance Performance Dance

Worship Dance
Worship, or praise dances, are typically meant as worship and praise a higher being. Example: Liturgical Dance (Tambourine Dance) Creative Praise Dance (Interpretative Dance)

Ceremonial Dance
ceremonial dance - a dance that is part of a religious ritual Examples: Dance of death, dance macabre - a medieval dance in which a skeleton representing death leads a procession of others to the grave snake dance - a ceremonial dance (as by the Hopi) in which snakes are handled or invoked war dance - a ceremonial dance performed before a battle or after a victory

Social Dance
Social Dance where sociability and socializing are the primary focuses of the dancing. Example: Ballroom Dance Club Dance House Dance Square Dance Street Dance Swing Dance

Performance Dance
Concert dance (also known as performance dance or theatre dance in the United Kingdom) is dance performed for an audience. It is frequently performed in a theatre setting, though this is not a requirement, and it is usually choreographed and performed to set music.
