1. Please provide a detailed summary describing the artifact and its purpose. For this project, my partners and I had to select a country from a set of chosen countries. After we chose the country, we had to plug the number of the countrys HIV cases into a graph and analyze its trends. Then we had to find the best line of fit, (quadratic, quintic, etc.). Using the data in the graph, we had to predict the number of infected people 20 later. After we were done analyzing the data, we had to read an article about our countrys HIV condition. We solved questions relating to the article and included them on the project. Then, we had to type a white paper that summarized the article, analyzed the information used and found, and finally recommend solutions for that country. The last part of the project was to answer these questions. 2. Identify and list the GLPO(s) that were satisfied in completing this artifact. In addition, please explain how these GLPO(s) were met by specifically referring to the examples or evidence from the artifact. (Please specifically refer to the indicators within each domain, and do not simply state that you Took Action or Communicated Ideas.) I satisfied two GLPOs. They are communicating ideas and investigate the world. I investigated the world by finding statistics about Nigers HIV problem and predicting the number of cases in twenty years from 2009. I also found information about how the disease is transmitted and how people are stopping the disease in Niger. I communicated ideas by demonstrating what I learned from the research I did in this project. I also communicated ideas by using appropriate language that everyone will understand. 3. What skills and concepts were learned throughout the process of completing this artifact? I learned a couple of skills and concepts by completing this project. A skill I learned was how to research delicate topics, such as HIV and AIDs. A topic I learned was how HIV and AIDs a country. It doesnt only affect the people, but also the culture of the country. The whole country is affected, even its economy. Another skill I learned was the ability of using Microsoft Excel for making graphs and inputting data. It was a program that I had little experience with, and this project helped me gain some. 4. Looking back on the process of completing this artifact, what might you do differently if you were able to recreate or revise the final product? How has process of completing this artifact positively affected your future? If I had the opportunity of redoing this project, I would redo it in a vivid way. It took a lot of concentration to do this project and I have problems with focusing. I would spend more time doing research on the topic so that I would be able to make a better plan to help cure HIV. I would have also hurried with my project. It took my group a week to work on the project. I would have also applied myself more. I was distracted with other projects from other classes since many were due soon.
