Dear Jashwanth, Whatever analysis you perform, the static analysis or dynamic analysis, you need acceleration coeffiecint(Sa/g)

from Response Spectrum in both cases. Staad calculates automatically, the Sa/g from the Emperical Fundamental natural time period given in clause 7.6 of IS 1893 and search for the respective Sa/g from the response spectrum curve of Fig 2 in 1893. In order to take the diaphragm action of Rc Slab, you are needed to model the slab by course plate elemnets, each node of plate at the each corner of the slab panel. Fine plate meshes of 0.5x0.5m are not at all required, Remember to assign the plate densities to zero, by creating a separate material in staad, with all the properties same as concrete but having density zero, as you already applied the selfweight of slab in floor loads. I think you want to apply the horizontal accidental torsional moment arising due to eccentricity between the centre of mass and centre of rigidity.

There are two ways you can apply the torsinal eccentric moments First Manual Application, 1) lateral storey shear for each floor shall be taken from slab. 2) Design Eccentricity in both x and z directions have to be calculated from IS 1893. 3) Find the torsional moments from above two. 4) Create a master node at center of Rigidity at each floor level and all other nides in that floor to slave nodes. 5) Apply the above calculated torsional moment on the master nodes. 6) Perform the analysis. Note : You can get the center of rigidity, storey shears from the text files created after running the model in the same folder where your staad file is present. Centre of Rigidity - YourFileName_TOR Storey Shear YourFileName_RESP1893 Second Method Perform the Dynamic analysis, the time periods will be less in dynamic analysis, this time period will be compared with the Emperical Fundamental natural time period given in clause 7.6 of IS 1893. Larger of the time period will be selected. Hence the above emperical formula will be used in both the case. Remember, to tick the torsion tab during dynamic analysis. It will take care of Accidental Torsional Eccentricity. Hope I cleared the point, Ganesh Hiremath
