    Commence Stage : Wednesday, 28 March 2012 Interim Stage : 24 & 25 April 2012 (Pin Up Presentation) 3&4 April 2012 - Development model at scale 1:50 (1 white model) CAD drawings especially plans and sections at app. scale. 10&11 April 2012 - Refined 2D CAD drawings at scale 1:50 to 1:20 and 3D rendered perspective drawings 24&25 April 2011 Sectional Model at scale 1:20 and Overall completion of Scheme (All relevant Drawings)

    Stage 3 Design Development


    At this point you should have a strategy of how the site functions that is articulated not only in terms of the detailed organisation of the site, but that has an agenda for materials selection and use, the selection, manipulation and application of graphics and colour and for the lighting of the different areas. You should be looking at how these elements can be applied into the context of the site and work with the selected spaces at a scale of 1:50 model and drawn form.

    You should explore the following issues: Product display policy Seating policy Lighting policy Approach to existing building Approach to shop fitting (kit of parts, joinery, site-specific etc) Structural policy for display system Role of modular system/ panel sizes

    To try to understand some of these issues you should go and look at shops and see how they deal with the above.

    You are required to prepare proposals that consider the above for pin-up at the interim presentation. These will then be developed further.

    Following interim tutorial you are required to develop your work into a single proposal that will investigate and explore the scheme at a scale 1:20 using models and drawings. You should consider the following issues:Product display policy Form of elements Junctions between elements Materials, finishes and colour Lighting Graphic Treatment of building envelope (floor, walls, ceiling).
