All initial AccessPLUS entries require the change symbol @ either side of the 2-letter carrier code at the beginning. All subsequent entries require only the change symbol in front of the entry e.g. @AD. Segments on participating airlines are identified by a P (pending) until the participating airline has responded with their record locator. Once the airline responds, the pending indicator P is replaced with an A, meaning the booking has been acknowledged. Included in the Direct Response are the airlines record locator, the airline code, flight number and city pair. It is mandatory for an Airline Source and Direct Sell participant to participate in Direct Response. It is optional for the other airline participants.
