Appendix K-Part II

After reading my peer response, I can see that my peer experienced both a functional and dysfunctional conflict while at work. During the first conflict which is dysfunctional, my peer and another coworker have their own supplies and the coworker went into my peers supplies without asking her first. I would say that Stage I: Communication, because the coworker did not let my peer know that they was going to use some of their supplies. Stage III: Collaborating to make sure that both parties have mutual respect for each others property so that the other will not be offended. I also see Stage V: Functional Outcomes provides the medium through which problems can be aired and tensions released. During the second conflict which was functional. My peer and their coworker had a disagreement on which of their ideas would best help the students complete their projects; both ideas would help. Again, I see Stage 1: communication, talking it out and seeing which idea would help which student with their project. Stage III: Collaboration, making sure that both ideas get used by checking and seeing exactly what each student project needs are. I also see Compromising, willingness to accept a solution that provides incomplete satisfaction of both parties concerns and make sure no one is wrong. . I also see Stage V: Functional Outcomes provides the medium through which problems can be aired and tensions released.
