    Boris Perchatkin, USA Because of the work of Boris Perchatkin, hundreds of thousands of persecuted Christians from the Soviet Union received asylum in the United States of America. For many years, despite the risk of punishment and numerous threats on his life, Perchatkin continued to inform people in Western society of the awful violations of religious liberty in the USSR, which were carefully hidden by the government. For his pro-Christian activities, the atheistic government of the Soviet Union twice sentenced him to terms of penal service in labor camps. He spent many years of his life in such camps, suffering imprisonment and torture for Christ and his faith. In 2007 Boris Perchatkin fearlessly stood up against the persecution of Protestant churches in Russia, providing documentary videos to the U.S. State Department and to the media.
