AF/IV/T* 1. Education/Qualifications/ Training Appropriate Registration with GMC by designated start date. Basic medical qualifications Higher degree in Medicine Higher surgical qualifications Fellowship of the countrys college of surgeons Near completion on a Higher Training Programme in Orthopaedics. IELTS Child protection training Membership of RCS & PALS/APLS/NALS 2. Skills/Abilities Competence in all aspects of Orthopaedic patient management. Basic training in spinal surgery. Presentation Skills Audit Project Skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to establish and maintain working relations with patients, carers and multidisciplinary colleagues Ability to work in teams or on own initiative IT skills E E E

3. Experience
Registrar level training in Orthopaedics. Clinical skills in spinal surgery (minimum 6 months) Research Experience Management/ Leadership experience Teaching/ Presentations experience

4. Knowledge
Spinal surgery knowledge of basic texts. Understanding of principles of clinical governance Understanding of own limits aware of own limitations, consulting senior colleagues appropriately Understanding of patient confidentiality and data protection Understanding of the clinical issues in area of Spinal Surgery/Orthopaedics
