Social Care To mark its 30th anniversary in 2000, we established the KTI Educational Foundation. The Foundation awards scholarships to elementary and middle school children in the Sebulu and Probolinggo area. History 1970 PT. Kutai Timber Indonesia, was established by joint venture between Sumitomo Forestry Co., Ltd and PT. Kaltimex Jaya to serve as a base for forest resource development. 1973 Plywood and lumber factory was built at Probolinggo, East java. 1974 Plywood and lumber factory began the operations. 1983 Forestry division was closed down. 1989 " Kutai Raya Dua" , a ship of log transport was launched. 1991 PT.KTI cooperated with SFC began " The Research Project for Reforestation of Tropical Rainforests" . 1992 Wood working division was started the operations. 1993 Production of long size plywood was started. 1994 Production of engineering wood was started. 1997 PT.KTI are awarded ISO 9002, product quality certification by the International Organization for Standardization. 1998 Research of reforestation cooperation was continued. 2000 KTI Educational Foundation was established, in honor of 30th anniversary of PT.KTI. 2001 PT. KTI are awarded ISO 14001 international environmental management certification by the International Organization for Standardization. 2001 SFC take 99%stock of PT.KTI. 2005 Start construction of Particleboard factory.

Develops housing materials based on species considered to have little value in the past. 2. Expends the scale of joint afforestation projects with local people, corporations, universities, and administ - rative bodies. 3. Conducts affores- tation experiments into new fastgrowing species and selects quality tree.
