Composition and Rhetoric (English 111). Fall 2011. English 111 is one half of a two-course first-year composition requirement. Students study the function of rhetoric and language in society by completing traditional academic essays, writing projects with a public audience, and a multimodal project. Composition and Literature (English 112). Spring 2012. {www.eng112bb.wordpress.com} English 112 is one half of a two-course first-year composition requirement. Students studied popular culture textsongs, television shows, movies, and memesin order to engage in critical analysis of texts. Writing projects included traditional academic essays, as well as creating memes to critically and creatively engage with the texts we worked with over the semester.
