EVERLASTING INSIGHT

We preach faith in Nationalism,

Humanism and Spiritualism
We believe religion as the embodiment of one's conduct.we do not follow, spread or support religion as merely a symbol.
We
are committed to and abide by Aashtang Yoga, Yama-Niyam-Aasana-Pranayam-PratyaharDharana-Dhyan and Samadhi, Dharma, Darshan, Adhyatma of Indian system of religion. Also, we have faith in cultural traditions, value systems and ideals propounded by Rishis and Munis, because this is Spirituality and Religious. We are committed to the Yams propounded by Maharishi Patanjali - Ahimsa, Sata (Satya), Asteya, Brahmcharya and Aprigraha and accept these five laws, Shoch, Santosh, Tapa, Swadhyaya, and Ishwar Panidhan, as universal, scientific and a part of world religion and culture. We are also committed to follow the same with our heart, speech and action. Against the Yamas, committing violence, following sins and stealing, we consider them as sinful and equivalent to committing a crime. India is a nation with cultural mlange of many dimensions and communal traditions. We only consider Dharma, which is universal and scientific in plural, religious, spiritual, cultural and communal traditions. We refuse to accept whatever is non-scientific, hypocrisy, superstitious and superficial in religions and traditions. Since we do not believe in all this, we are religious and are thus not blinded by religion. We believe religion to be the embodiment of one's conduct and we do not follow, spread or support religion as merely a symbolism. We consider values like Ahimsa, mercy, compassion, service, dedication, pardon, cleanliness and satisfaction and others to be a part of a religion. We call Dharma that is spoken in Veda-Shastra, Kuran, Bible and Guru Granth Saheb as Truth and Non-violent. Our personal religious faith may be linked with a specific religion or communal faith but when it comes to national interests, we believe in worshipping one God. We are believers, not atheists. The omniscient has been given several names in Hindi, Sanskrit, Punjabi, Arabian and English. Out of all the names given in these languages, we call god as Omkar because this is the first and the oldest word. This word is universal and scientific. This word Om is found, not only in Indian philosophy but also in other languages in the form of Aameen, Omen and others. Scientific investigation into the word Om reveals that it's a pious, scientific and therapeutic word. This is not a symbol of a statue or communal tradition. In short, we believe in Nationalistic, Humanistic and Spiritualistic lifestyle. We do not preach communalism or regionalism. We preach Nationalism, Humanism and Spiritualism.

& Special on Conservation of Environment day &

Don't tamper with environment; work for its conservation

We are fast losing morality and ethics only because of our reckless pursuit for development. Human beings have since long been experimental on this planet, the earth, which is the only planet in the universe where life exists.

But our experiments for making the weapons of mass destruction has badly endangered the earth. The natural calamities which emanates from the earth's womb is the result of unnecessary tampering with nature.

population is the cause of polluted environment. Excessive use of science and technology has led to the pollution of the environment. For the humanity it is important to have a balance between Economy and Ecology, because there is a close link between Humans and Ecology. They are complimentary to each other. Humans, in their quest to immediate, impermanent and small benefits, have ignored the balance of nature. So, humans only have engendered ecological problems. Relentless growth of population has further aggravated the ecological problems.

Rising

umans and their inclination to industrial quest have engendered various forms of pollutions. Natural balance keeps the environment clean, while human population produces polluted and poisonous waste. The biggest challenge of air pollution comes from burning fuel, coal and gas. The smoke that is emitted from chimney and fire causes the greatest hazard to the quality of air. This burning emits many poisonous gases. Humans are one of the members of creation and all the physical and zoological factors that influence other life forms, do influence him too. We can very well imagine that people living in densely populated areas witness the consequences of population growth and these problems are created by themselves only. Natural ecosystem collects and assimilates the energy and Humans used it up. Every 35 years, the population on Earth is doubled. Our population growth is also affected by laws of the balance, which influence the growth of other animal population. In ecosystem these laws are the laws of demand and supply of energy. On our planet, food and geographical areas are limited. If there happen to be many people, then the competition among the population will intensify and the fight for survival will be stiff. Consequently, there would be urbanization and industrialization, which will result into a fall in irrigational area and activation of factors responsible for pollution. The problems of food, shelter and clothes is becoming insurmount-

able because of rising population. To tackle such problems, more food and more industrialization would be needed. For raising agricultural productivity, more fertilizers would be needed, which can damage the ecology further. Similarly, industrialization may also pollute the environment. If humans were to claims on these rights, then they have to make all the creatures a partner in them. This is the right moment, when humans have to listen to the voice of these creatures and provide a concrete form to the concept of 'Live and Let others Live'. Our objective to conserve the ecology is to spread awareness among people about the rising pollution. It's our duty that the clean environment, we inherited from our elders be passed on to our next generation as well. Venerable Swami Ramdevji says that Nature is our mother. Trees are our protectors in the form of a father. Whatever amount of oxygen we have drawn from trees, we must return the same amount by planting new trees. Otherwise, supreme God will question you that you have not returned the amount of oxygen that you borrowed. So the God would direct us to make up for this oxygen. You become a tree and whatever amount you borrowed from nature, you will have to return it. So, everybody must conserve environment and don't fiddle with nature.

way we have a right to live in this world; the same way other organisms in this nature have also have a right to lead a peaceful and fearless life. We cant create a living being. Then why should we kill them? Who has given us the right to kill those living creatures, which are different from us? Nature has given us the organs like eyes, heart and mind. The same way, the other animals, which are killed by us, have also got the same kind of organs. These animals can sense the sorrow and trauma, which are committed on them by human beings. Should they be killed because they dont have weapons to protect themselves or they dont have got a right to exercise their enfranchise in our present democratic set up. If they had got an ability to convey their feelings to us, we would definitely have sensed their misery. But unfortunately, without knowing their pain, we kill the innocent animals for their flesh and we eat their meat with a great joy as beasts do. This is the greatest sin and crime that we commit on these helpless animals. If the human beings can survive on vegetables, then why should we kill other animals for our food? We, the human beings, are vegetarian by nature. It has been scientifically proved that our anatomy is like vegetarians.

The

a matter of serious concern

e have blindly adopted the western culture. This is the reason why the trend of eating flesh of other animals is on rise. Because of eating the flesh of animals, we are also witnessing a sharp change in our behaviour. We are behaving like a beast. Violence and crime in our society are at rise. The countries with high population are witnessing not just rise in non-vegetarianism but also a sharp rise in diseases. The Mahabharata says that the people who eat the flesh of other animals are nothing but cruel. Those who expect sympathy and compassion from others, should also behave with others in the same manner. All those who support eating meat, who cook meat, who permit eating meat who are engaged in selling or purchasing flesh of other animals all such people are butchers and murderers. Koran, the sacred book of Islam, says that those who destroy greenery, who are indulged in human trafficking, who kill other living beings and who are indulged in adultery all such people never get blessings of Allah. Only those people deserve the blessings and compassion of Allah who have compassion for the other living beings. Great scholar Pluto has said that such countries are infested with violence and injustice and are heading towards their end, where people are indulged in uncontrolled materialistic life style, eating flesh of other animals and have sole motive to collect wealth. The

Growing trend of non-vegetarian food:

Rakesh Narula

study of internal and external structure of our body suggests that fruits, vegetables, grains are our natural diet. At the early stage of human civilization, vegetables were considered as our natural diet. Greek scholars like Pluto, Aristotle, Socrates and Pythagoras were great supporters of vegetarianism. At their early stages, Jews and Christians were vegetarians. In ancient India, Hindus had shunned eating meat. Gautam Buddha always instructed his disciples not to eat meat. Swami Ramdev has also promoted vegetarianism. Swamiji says that by eating flesh of other living beings, we are turning our stomach into a cemetery, which should be stopped. History shows that all great scholars have voiced against eating meat of other living beings and have supported vegetarianism. Eskimos of Tundra region survive on flesh of animals. They grow old at a very early age and die soon. Their average life expectancy is 27.5 years, while the average life of vegetarians is around 100 years. The vegetarian tribes like Hunjaam in Pakistan, Oramis in Mexico and natives of southern-western America have their average life expectancy about 110 years. A WHO data (World Health Organization) reveals that those who survive more on non-vegetarian food especially meat, are easily caught by diseases. All should take to vegetarianism. To get rid of diseases, we need more to mend our eating behaviours rather than the medicines. It is high time for us to return to Indian life style instead of western way of living. If we eat pure and proper meal, we wont have need for medicines. Flesh of animals is not our natural diet. We need to make people aware of the hazards of eating meat. We should promote vegetarianism across the world.

Koran, the sacred book of Islam, says that those who destroy greenery, who are indulged in human trafficking, who kill other living beings and who are indulged in adultery

all such people never get blessings of Allah, the almighty, they are cursed. Only those people deserve the blessings and compassion of Allah who have compassion for the other living beings.

disappeared. And in due course it is said that whenever the yajna-cycle is obstructed of this creation and when the predominance of the illnatured is experienced, then a great power takes a form. Ordinary people should learn by observing the actions of the great people. And they should also obtain the same behavior to continue the yajna-cycle selflessly and with a sense of duty. This world is yajnamaya, it is filled with sacrifices and actions. And Brahman is wholesome, Brahman is the doing of yagna. Brahman is the doer of yajna, Brahman is the fire and Brahman the ingredients of yagna. Nanak used to say, In this world no thing is mine. Everything belongs to you. In this way this society, countries, the whole world, every being in this yajna-cycle are the part and parcel in it. We have the responsibility to protect them. His (man) welfare also lies in groups welfare. Those who perform different kinds of sacrifices (yajnas), contribute to reach goal according to their ability, because their sacrifice is a sacrifice of losing self, sacrifice of desire and attachmentprecisely ...they sacrifice everything to Brahmagni considering that they are performing sacrifice. So my dear soul mates! This country India, each and every group that lives in this great land, each person of those groups is an indivisible element of the supreme soul. Oh, followers of lord Krishna! I invite you all in Krishnas words arise yourself beyond all kinds of entanglements and affections. Leave all kinds of selfish desires. There is nothing left in this world that you can keep your joy permanently. So you dedicate yourself to the Brahman who is in the form of country and do service to the nation selflessly. Become yogi and with the consciousness of a yogi, build the nation. Exaltation and enrichment are the key words for building the nation. A great nation ennobles its citizens also. So think over it. Your can not facilitate yourself solely, because your welfare lies in the welfare of your fellow citizens. You descendents the clan of Arjuna! Arise! Awake! Fulfill your duty! Lord said that the society is divided in four castes according to their very character, acts and nature. To manage a society the division in it is necessary; therefore the caste system is formed. In the times of Mahabharata the system was famous. They are not based on birth. In subsequent times it becomes birth-based. And now this system is also get changed. Ancient occupations (industries) are disrupted. And many more new businesses are snatching their place. But whatever the modern system is, the four-caste system would never be smashed off. Labor division has scientific basis. It exists forever. Labor division exists in those

countries also where this kind of four caste system does not know. Yajn purush has the head place as it is the place of Brahman, because of the abode of the intellect lies there. Kshatriya (Warriors) society is created to safeguard it. These are the hands of yajna purusha. Vaisya (Businessmen) is the trade section of society. Because of them the society lives happily and they occupy the place of heart, stomach in yajna purusha. And lastly Shudra (Labourers) class is there to do different kinds of services and they occupy the place of feet in yajna purusha. To strengthen the yajna purusha, all limbs are equally important. Every limb in this body is very significant. Like wise, if any of the sections does not function, the system of the society would be crippled. So to systematize the society cycle every profession should contribute according to their very nature of duty. Dedicate your services to the nation selflessly. Lord Krishna said that skeptical persons would not have pleasure nither in this world not in that heaven. And he said it is futile to think about the pleasure of the other world. So oh, my fellow supreme soul forms! Shun all your doubts and hesitations. Contribute to the prosperity of human society. Aware that your welfare is indivisible with the welfare of the society. human beings- to avoid waking up before sunrise due to lethargy and keep them deprived from enjoying the beauty of the nature. Those who don't wake up even after sunrise, their mind and body organs become very weak. They witness sharp decline in their normal activities and they are badly caught by lethargy. Their facial glow is also destroyed. Those who avoid cleaning their body and clothes, keep their teeth dirty, eat too much, speak harsh language, and keep themselves on the bed at the time of sunset and sun rise, never prosper in their life. It is very necessary for one to get rid of the harmful habit of keep sleeping even after sunrise. One should make a habit to rise early in the morning. Wake up in BrahamaMuhurat and focus seriously on your routine exercises especially on Dharma (Religion) and Artha (Genuine ways of earning money for livelihood). First, do meditation, pay tribute to almighty and make sure that whole day, you will do nothing immoral. Focusing on Artha means you will earn money for you livelihood with honesty, without indulging in any kind of ill practice. Money earned by fair means gives us immense pleasure and it also enables us to help needy people. You should also contemplate on the trauma and its causes, which we usually suffer from. Good health is imperative for properly pursuing our religion- "Sharirmadhyam khalu Dharmasadhanam." It is auspicious to look at your palms just after getting up early in the morning. It has been written in 'Acharpradeep'- "Karagre Vasate Lakshmi, Karmadhye Saraswati. Karmule sthite Brahama, Prabhate Kardarshnam." That means, Lakshmi (the goddess of wealth) lies in the fore part of hand, Saraswati (the goddess of enlightment) lies at the center of hand. God Brahama (creator of the universe) lies in the root of hand. Take a view of your hand just after getting up early in the morning. Actually, nature is full with a magnificent beauty in the morning. But one can enjoy it only by keeping harmonious relation with the nature. Therefore, to maintain good health, it is prerequisite to wake up early in the morning. Make a rule to rise before sunrise and utilize every moment of life for good causes.

Human beings have inseparable and indivisible relationship with nature. Likewise, it is a must for human beings to follow the rules of nature. For good health, it is prerequisite to rise early in the morning. All great men across the world had a habit to rise early in the morning.

About one and a half hour before sunrise, the BrahmaMuhurta begins This period is also calledAmrit-Vela. This is the right time to wake up and begin one's daily activities.

e have an age-old custom in India to rise early in the morning, look at the palms, take blessings of mother earth, looking at auspicious things, taking the blessings of teachers, parents and chanting hymns, clearing our stomach and taking bath. These activities are known as Nitya-Kriya. Therefore, it is a must to rise early in the morning and complete these works before sunrise to keep us healthy. About one and a half hour before sunrise, the Brahma-Muhurta begins. That is the when a reddish line across the horizon in the west and some stars in the sky can be seen. That is the right time to wake up. This period is also called- Amrit-Vela. According to the law of nature, all living creaturesanimals and birds- enjoy the purity of nature by rising during this period- the Brahma-Muhurta. It is unfortunate for the best creature on this planet- the

is reputed across the world for its great patriots and martyrs. Sacrifices and their acts of bravery have left eternal impression on the history and culture of this land. Its not only sons but also the daughters of this soil also showed tremendous bravery for the sake of their motherland. One of such women was Jhansi ki Rani (the queen of Jhansi) Lakshmibai. Her courage, her devotion and dedication for her motherland and her acts of bravery against British rulers, all these are nothing but an epic in itself. Lakshmibai was the queen of Jhansi, a kingdom under Maratha Empire. She was the first lady who raised her sword against the British during Indias first war of independence. The first major step for the freedom of this country was taken in 1857, which is known as the Sepoy Mutiny in the history of India.

riage, she was named Lakshmibai. This way, Mannu of Kashi became the queen of Jhansi- Lakshmibai. Mannu had learnt the skills of warfare at a very early age when she was just seven years old. In her childhood, her father had told her the legends of mythological heroes. The story of brave men and women of Indian mythology had a great impact on the mindset of Mannu. But after the marriage, she had to live like a traditional women wearing veil on her face. This was not acceptable to a brave, bold and open minded Lakshmibai. She ordered to set up a gymnasium in side the palace. She had also made arrangements for horse riding and training facilities for handling arms and ammunitions. She also prepared an armed force of women. Such acts of new queen pleased the king Gangadhar Rao. Queen Lakshmibai was a generous lady. One day she was returning after worshiping the goddess of her clan, Mahalakshmi. Some poor people came and stood around her. Seeing their misery, she announced for the distribution of cloths and other necessary things for the poor. In 1851, Lakshmibai gave birth to a child. This was a joyful moment for not only royal family but for everyone in the kingdom of Jhansi. But the moments of joy were short lived. The newborn prince of Jhansi died just four months after his birth. Jhansi was swoop by a wave of sorrow. In 1853, King Gangadhar Rao fell ill. His advisors suggested him to adopt a child as his heir. The king adopted a boy of his own clan as his successor who was named Damodar Rao. On the very next day of adopting the child, on 21st November 1853, the king died. The British East India Company had an intention to usurp Jhansi. The situation after the death of king

Charming, smart and intelligent Mannu became dear to everyone in the court. Peshwa Bajirao fondly called her Chhabili. A teacher used to come for teaching the children of Peshwa. Mannu also started studying with them where she learnt the skills of warfare. She was fond of handling weapons and horse riding. After growing a bit younger, she was married to the king of Jhansi, Gangadhar Rao Niwalkar in 1842 at a lavish and magnificent marriage ceremony. After the mar-

Gangadhar Rao provided the opportunity to the British, they were looking for. They thought that being a woman, Lakshmibai would easily cave in before them. First they denied accepting Damodar Rao as the legal heir of late king Gangadhar Rao. The officers of the Company wrote to Lakshmibai that king Gangadhar Rao died without any legal successor; therefore the kingdom of Jhansi will be annexed into British territory in India. Hearing this, queen Lakshmibai got infuriated and she announced, I wont give my Jhansi to British. Research scholars have got access to a letter in London, which was written by Lakshmibai. Earlier, people didnt know about the letter. It was BBC, which informed the world about the letter. BBC termed the discovery of the letter very important as very little evidences or authentic documents about Rani Jhansi Lakshmibai are available. Queen Lakshmibai had written the letter to Lord Dollhouse, the governor general of British East India Company. This letter has been preserved at Londons British Librarys archive. Deepika Ehlawat was the research inspector of Maharaja Exhibition, which was held at Londons Victoria and Albert Museum. Ehlawat says that Lakshmibai described in detail about the unfortunate incidences of the night when her husband had died. Rejecting the Theory of Lapses of Lord Dollhouse, Rani Lakshmibai claimed that her husband King Gangadhar Rao had completed all necessary formalities before his death to appoint Damodar Rao as his successor. But Dollhouse denied to accept Damodar Rao as the successor of late King and he threatened to take over the kingdom of Jhansi. This threatening prompted queen Lakshmibai to join hands with the warriors of first freedom struggle of India. British troops attacked the Jhansi fort. Lakshmibai had already made all arrangements to combat the possible invaders. Big guns were set up on the rampart of Jhansi fort. She donated all her valuables like gold and silver made stuffs for arranging arms and ammunitions to combat the British. The big guns set up on the rampart of Jhansi fort were- Kadak Bijali, Bhawani Shankar, Ghangarjan and Naldar artilleries. Gaus Khan and Khuda Baksh were the two most trusted artillerymen of Rani Jhansi. Rani had made special security arrangements for the safety of the fort. Seeing the arrangements made by queen Lakshmibai for the possible battle, British officer Hurose was stunned. First the British troops laid siege around the Jhansi fort and then attacked from all sides. Shelling from British side targeting the fort continued for eight days but the attack went in vein. They failed to capture the fort. Queen and her subjects had vowed to protect the fort till their last breath. Then Hurose played a wicked trick. He succeeded in luring Dulha Singh, one of the lieutenants of queen Lakshmibai,

to change his loyalty. Traitor Dulha Singh opened the southern gate of the fort. British troops entered inside the fort and started widespread devastation. Queen Lakshmibai, holding a naked sword in one hand and riding a horse, came out of her palace. She had tied her adopted son Gangadhar Rao on her back. Appearing like an incarnation of the goddess of death, she attacked the invaders. The brave soldiers of Jhansi also got engaged in combating the invaders. All the soldiers of Jhansi were chanting the slogans of bravery like- Har Har Mahadev Jai Bhawani The British army outnumbered the army of queen Lakshmibai. The British forces beleaguered the queen. But with the help of some of her faithful lieutenants, she somehow managed to reach to Kalpi and from there, she moved ahead. But unfortunately, a bullet hit her leg, which impeded her speed. British troops were approaching her. Queen Lakshmibai rode her horse fast but an open tunnel came in her way and her horse stopped there. British soldiers surrounded her. One of the British soldier hit her head with a sword from her back cutting the right part of her head and her right eye came out of her face. At the same time, another British soldier hit at her heart. She was badly injured but continued holding her sword and combating her enemies. She killed both the British soldiers. Then she fell on the ground. Pathan lieutenant Gaus Khan was still accompanying her. Seeing the unmatched bravery of Lakshmibai, the other British soldiers fled from there. Queens another entrusted lieutenant Ramrao Deshmukh accompanied her till her end. He carried the injured queen to the nearby monastery of Baba Gangadas. Lakshmibai was crying of pain. She asked to bring water. Baba made her drink water. Even in that condition, her face was glowing with divine light. After taking water, she gazed at her adopted son Damodar Rao and then closed her eyes forever. It was a day of June 1858 when a light of great bravery became immortal. Her pyre was burnt at the monastery and last rituals for her funeral were performed there. Her son Damodar Rao offered the sacred fire for her last rites. The following lines written about her by Subhadra Kumari Chauhan underscore the whole personality of Jhansi Ki Rani Lakshmibai. CHAMAK UTI SAN SATTAVAN ME, WAH TALWAR PURANI THI, BUNDELE HARBOLON KE MUH HUMNE SUNI KAHANI THI, KHOOB LADI MARDANI WAH TO JHANSI WALI RANI THI. Now it is for us that what lessons we learn from the life and works of Rani Lakshmibai.

Life Force
'How does it operate the body?
Like the Yoga has a auniversal meaning, similarly life-force has universal meaning. The
meanings of life-force are breath, rise and fall of the breath, consciousness, life, air, energy or power. Normally, this word is used in various forms for the most important word 'air'. Amplitude means the length, extent, contraction or reaction.

Acharaya Balkrishna

the central system around which life moves. Hathyoga Pradipika instructs, like a tiger, an elephant or a lion can be tamed slowly and cautiously, likewise, the breath can also be controlled according to the strength and capacity of the body. Otherwise, it can take away life of a practitioner. Yogi's lifespan is not counted in days; rather it is counted in the number of breaths. So he adopts a method in which his breath is deep, slow and rhythmic. It calms down the nerves, strengthens breathing system and cuts down desires. As the desires begin to vanish, mind begins to attain freedom and becomes ready for higher concentration. If a practitioner exercises wrongly, he may suffer from cold, cough, hic-ups, pain in eyes, ears and head and may also feel irritation. It takes some time for everybody to learn to inhale air in a rhythm, slow, deep and steady breath and exhale the same way. Before one learns Kumbhak one must master all this. Like a fire is exposed after the removal of ash, similarly by practicing Pranayam, having cleared all the lust, the internal divine light emerges. In fact, clearing the mind of all illusions is real pure Rechank. Realising that 'I am the Soul' is actually the real Purak and

T

he meaning of Pranayam is the control and the expansion and contraction of breath. It controls various functions of the breath. Like - Purak, which is called inhaling, Rechak, which is exhaling, Kumbhak, which is holding the breath. This is a state where both the inhaling and exhaling is ceased. In Huthyoga, Kumbhak is used independently and in a general sense, in which all the three functions Purak, Rechak and Kumbhak are included. The meaning of the word Kumbh is a pitcher. It can be completely emptied of air and can be filled with water or it can be completely emptied of water and can be filled with air. Similarly there are two functions of Kumbhak. One : when after inhaling, breath function is stopped for a while (tissues are completely filled up with air). Second: When after exhaling, breath function is stopped for a while (Tissues are completely emptied of toxic air). The second state where having completely emptying air breathing is stopped is called Bhaya Kumbhak. So, Kumbhak is the duration between the complete inhalation and exhalation. In this duration breath is held for a while or it is controlled. Tasmin sati shawasprashrasyorgati vicchaedah pranayama (Yoga Darshan 2/49) - Having attained a posture (Aasana), controlling your in-breath and out-breath is called Pranayam. So, Pranayam is a science of breathing. This is

holding the mind steady on this thought is Kumbhak. This is pure Pranayam. This is what Shankaracharya stated. Every human being with every breath accumulates a thought that I am the immortal person (Soham). Similarly, while breathing out, he inadvertently recites that he is that person. This unintended recitation continuously runs through the life. A yogi can easily realize the importance of such recitation and thus he is freed from all the bonds binding the soul. He presents this breath to the omniscient in the form of a sacrifice and in return gets blessings in the form of a life force of breath. In the body of a creature, breath is a piece of omniscient's universal breath. By practicing Pranayam, a person tries to harmonise his breath with that of the universal life force. A mystic of the seventeenth century Ekkan says that if you want to encourage or strengthen your calm nature then you will have to orgainse your breathing pattern. The reason behind it is that once the breath is controlled then only heart gets calmed. But, if the breathing pattern is flawed then it will harm the heart. So, before getting to do any-

thing, you must control your breath, so that your composure will ease and your nature will be peaceful. Citta (Mind, Intellect and Arrogance) is like a chariot drawn by powerful horses. Out of these horses, one is breath and the other is lust. Whichever is more powerful between the two, the chariot or the Citta is dominated by the nature of that horse. If breath is strong then lust is reined-in and faculties are controlled and Citta is stabilized. If lust is stronger, then breath is unorganized, Citta is unstable and miserable. That is why Yogis attain a control on Pranayam and by organizing and controlling breath; they rein-in the Citta and stabilize its variation. At the time of Pranyam, eyes are kept close to avoid any distraction of mind. Emotions and excitement influence the pace of breathing; likewise controlled system of breathing is full of emotion; that is why a Yogi learns Pranayam to control breathing. So, he becomes capable of controlling the faculties so that he attains the stage of Pratyahar. Then only heart will be capable of concentration. There have been defined two stages of heart (Citta) - pure and impure. When it is free from lust it is pure otherwise it is impure. By purifying mind and freeing it from laziness and adversities, a person attains the state of Amansk. The state of Amansk is not a state of ignorance or fluidity, but it's a state of mind when one is free from all the thoughts and lusts. There would be a great difference between an ignorant person and a yogi, who attained a state of Amansk. The first one is inattentive and the second one tries to be free from all worries. This is a state of unity between breathing and mind and similarly it is a surrender of all the available faculties and all stages of thought process, which is epitomized as Yoga.

Emotions and excitement influence the pace of breathing; likewise controlled system of breathing is full of emotions; that is why a Yogi learns

Pranayam to control breathing. So, he becomes capable of controlling the faculties so that he attains the stage of Pratyahar.

The saint returned through the same way after some time. Seeing the dead bodies of the four soldiers, he again smiled and said, O witch! You killed the four and still sitting here?

Lesson
Dear children! Same things are happening all around us. Deceit, betrayal, anti national activities and murder all such things are happening only because of greed and materialistic desire. It is noteworthy that the people, who indulge themselves in such ill practices, die, but the greed and desire for pleasure never die. Illusion for pleasure is like a witch. Dont indulge in ill practices under the influence of materialistic desire. Practice probity and purity in your life. Keep away from greed and ill practices. Greed doesnt influence a true devotee of god. A true theist person always keeps himself away from greed and materialistic things. Only people impure heart and desire come under the influence of ill things.

He changed his path and went ahead. At some distance, he saw four soldiers armed with guns. The saint told the soldiers that a witch was sitting on their way and cautioned them to be careful. One of the soldiers said carelessly, We dont fear a witch. If she will try to do us any harm, we will shoot her. In reply, the saint simply smiled and moved further. The soldiers decided to follow the same way which the saint had asked them not to pursue. As they moved ahead, they also saw the gold coins lying on the road. First they collected all the coins and then planned to take rest after taking some meal before moving further. Two of the soldiers stayed there to take care of the coins while the two others went to the nearby market to bring something to eat. In the market, they purchased some snakes and wine and added poison in these stuffs. They connived to kill their two other colleagues who were waiting for them on the road. Oh God! Not only in the political field, but in the fields of literature, science, social and religious also men divided in two sections and conflict with each other. But the funny thing is this, that each of the two parties, chant your pious name while fighting with other party. Everybody says that my party is great. The God is with us. We surely win. But oh men! Never play practical jokes with truth. You should have a glance within yourself being a self seeker. Aware your real self. Truth, God like pious words are not be spelt in an easy manner. You must plunge into deep waters, stand there for hours together and then start discovering for truth with an inquisitive mind. Then you find Indra, the real form of Truth, to help you in your discovery. Indra

helps those persons, who have taken Havih in their hands in this world, those who are prepared themselves for self-immolation, those who are ready for self sacrifice at any time. Indra himself extends his hand for friendship with such persons. And this is the testimony of the virtuous truth. One who loves truth, he would tie shroud on his head for its sake. Real truth worshipper not only sacrifices his mortal body, but also offers as a sacrifice all the essence-less things that are available in this world in the form of truth and untruth and saves truth. SoIndras friendship always exists with such mighty, chivalric and powerful personalities. If you want his friendship, you also become havishman and do offer sacrifice. One who is not willing to do sacrifice, one who does not do any effort to have som juice, One who is not in favor of getting essence of the truth, One who does not execute the fundamental nature, Indra never make companionship with such individuals. So, my dear brothers! Never pretend! Without reaching the depths, Without knowing the real sense Truth, God like pious words should not be spelt easily. Truth never obscures. And you would more and more diligent in getting the crux of truth. At that stage, you find Indra in front of you extending his hand for your friendship. He would become your companion then automatically.

Government - no need of alms as compensation.
The daughter-in-law of Bahen Rajbala, Mrs Rakesh Malik and other family members have returned the compensation amount offered by the Government of India and said to the Central Government that they dont need alms as compensation but want justice. They asked the Government to fulfill the objectives for which her mother-in-law laid her life. Her reply to the Government is a historical document, which is verbatim presented here. `Honorable Sir, I dont want alms as compensation for the murder of my mother but want justice. If you really want to give something, then return back the black money to the nation, which has been stashed in the foreign nation and for the sake of which my patriot mother laid the life. She also urged to set-up an independent and impartial judicial Commission for fair inquiry. The family has also demanded to take firm action against union Home Minister and Delhi Chief Minister who are responsible for ordering cane charge, which led to her death. In the letter, the demand of death penalty to those, who are directly involved in the murder has

also been demanded. The family members have said that sister Rajbala be given respect by granting the status of martyr.

America- the biggest tax heaven

America has adopted double standards in framing the policies related to black money and valuation of other nations currency. The reason behind is that USA is the leader of mafias operating for black money and hoarding. Maximum black money of the world is deposited in America. According to the Financial Secrecy Index 2009, being prepared by the world famous organization Tax Justice Networking, Delaware, a state of America is at the top. Then in the list come Luxemburg, Switzerland, Camel Island (a part of Britain) and London. The maximum share of the black money belongs to the people, who are not the citizen of America. They are being protected by the complex secrecy laws. The letters being written by the members of Senate in America itself discloses that in the American economy 10.7 Trillion dollar (around 535 lakh crore in Indian currency) is the foreign investment and 3 Trillion dollars (means 150 lakh crore rupees) is being secretly deposited by non residents. Of the total amount 2.7 trillion means around 135 lakh crore rupees is being deposited in the banks in Delaware alone. From Pithoragarh (Uttarakhand), on October 13

and unemployment would not be resolved by black flags. Thus, the nation does not want black flag but need 400 lakh crore black money, deposited in foreign nations. This needs too be brought back immediately and this would only save the country. First merciless action on innocent workers in Ramlila maidan and now showing black flags, itself prove that black money belongs to their leadership. The senior leaders of the party, located in Delhi have looted the nation and continue to loot it. Though, the party has a few good people but like Bhishma, Draunacharya and Kripacharyas in Mahabharata, they are siding sinner people. My agitation does not aim at decimating any political party but against corruption and black money. The question is if black money does not belong to these leaders, why they are scared. My objective is to transform the nation in the strongest nation of the world by bringing the politics out of dynasty rule, family, people, caste and religion, with reformation in the policies related to black money, corruption, economic policy and change in system. What the wrong I have done and what wrong I am saying. They are digging their own grave and hence behaving in most indecent manner with a religious person, who is following `yoga dharma` and `rashtra dharma`. Therefore, it is rightly said `vinash kale viprit buddhi`. I, once again urge the party leadership to introspect once again and reconsider the decisions, they are taking.

Why the ruling party leaders are scared? Why under the cover of black flags, they want to hide the prime issue of black money? The nation does not want black flag but black money, stashed in foreign banks. This would make India strong and developed.

The nation does not need black flag but black money
When we raised voice at Ramlila ground for black money, corruption and change in system, all efforts were made to eliminate me. Three times the area was set afire in a bid to burn me alive. But god is great. When the union Governments efforts to eliminate Baba Ramdev did not succeed, the workers of a particular political party started burning effigies, showing their real character. On the issue of black money and corruption, the common man is aggrieved and daily millions of people are, directly or indirectly associated with the agitation, these workers are showing black flags and thus, blackening face of their own party and leadership. We had demanded black money for the nation but they are hiding black money and showing black flags. The problem of poverty, illiteracy, inflation

What is this Nature of which we talk so much? We continue to discuss this as if it is alive and powerful object, which schemes such a thing.
ed but because we are far ahead of a being and Nature. Our intellect is an incredible light, which is born from such darkness, that it does not have anything of substance, which could have originated that intellect. Until the mind attains inertia of complete peace, and that inertia was only apparent, it would have been impossible for that inertia to produce the mind. Because this thought takes us to an impossible imagination, it can not be true. If that inertia is inactive then mind is also inactive. Intellect is an illusion. It could not be simpler than that interaction which is produced between physical existences and causes vibrations and reactions in inertia and it changes into magical forms of the intellect. Knowledge is merely a contact of inertia with inertia itself and it is neither different nor anything more than a collision between two atoms or a wrestling between two bulls. In the two incidences mentioned above, the two things, which are involved and the results produced from them are different. In one of the two, there are two inanimate atoms involved and in the second, there are animate bulls. So in the first, the result is retraction of two atoms after a collision and in the second it is the retraction of heads of two bulls. And due to this very reason we do not call the action of the intellect in case of retraction of one head from the other, though whatever happened in both the cases is, in essence, same. Intellect is mechanical and a root in itself and it is the physical result of two lively bodies. And from the point of view of a soul or mind, there is no intellectual or soul substance in it. This is the opinion of the modern scientific intellectualism; indeed it has been expressed in scientific language in different words. So that their logical results and intrinsic concepts get clarified, despite that this is the realistic explanation from the point of view of modern theo-

Sri Arvind

e believe that Nature has its aim, and there is adequate knowledge to pursue it and whatever aim it follows, it has the capacity to attain that too. Do we have any purpose behind talking like this, considering the realities of the world or is it in our nature that we use human symbols for non-human things. And we apply intellect on un-intellect things which because of some mute, blind and root-cause produces evident results and creates this grand and organized universe. If it happens to be like this then this root-cause has created a higher form than self. That which was not any way its own and it never existed in any imaginary form. We may not understand what is a being and Nature, not because we are too small and limit-

ry. According to this modern theory, the nature of a thing is determined by its form, qualities in its form and functioning of these qualities itself. For example, iron is made of some basic elements, due to its form, it attains specific qualities like its hardness etc. and due to its qualities it reacts in a specific manner in specific conditions. Taking the same observation on a larger scale, the universe is an aggregate of un-manifested power of some specific physical elements. It contains some specific and basic qualities and some universal qualities. And due to these qualities, it acts according to unchangeable impulses and unchanging processes which, we, in the metaphorical human language, call laws of nature. That is Nature for us. But if we happen to analyze indepth, then we find, in fact, it is an interaction between the energy and matter of the two beings. But if the theory of monism about the world happens to be true, then these two things will one day become one, either the matter or the energy. Even if we accept the modern view about the universe, there would still be something to be stated on the absence or presence of intellect. What are the elements of the intellect, what is their constitution and what are their qualities? In its own existence, what is human intellect, which is unique and which, we are able to understand? There are three qualities or processes for that; capacity and process to accumulate resources to attain a goal; process and capacity to discriminate against the contact on the senses of the intellect and the capacity and the process to attain knowledge through the functions of the mind. In short, human intellect is teleological, thoughtful and mindfully active. We can not say anything on the elements of intellect by studying the internals of various human beings, animals, trees, metals and their powers. By external observation, based on the evidence collected, we can only guess on the absence or presence of the elements of intellect. So, in the absence of evidence we can not surely claim that a tree is not mind in custody of inertia and the resources that are available to it, it can not express self with it. But we draw a conclusion exactly opposite if we depend on external evidence. This is possible that due to the progress of the knowledge itself, that conclusion may be discarded. But still there are a few evidences available, which, when accepted, can help us distinguish between Nature with intellect and without. Foremost, compared to humans, Nature has far

more capacity to set goals and search for functional systems. The best and the divine function of Human intellect is to set a goal, accumulate, assimilate, rectify, integrate and alter accordingly, the resources and processes to accomplish that goal, fight against adversities and overcome them and if they can not be overcome, then evade them by finding a way out. Whatever we humans accomplish through intellect, the same is achieved in animals by instinct, sensual sensation, memory and tolerant nature. And among plants this is achieved chiefly through instinctive impulse and mechanical action or what we call involuntary action. But herein, all the time, there is an objective and all the time there are fundamental resources around; because among humans too, intellect is used only for setting a goal and arranging for suitable resources. We should not say that free will of nature, decay of resources, its continuous failure, its symbolical whims and fancies and self-driven activities are reflective of its purposelessness and lack of intellect. Loaded with logical intellect, even humans are responsible for instability and carelessness. But both the nature and humans are not purposeless and intellect-less. In fact it's the Nature, which forces the humans to become something else rather being a utility-driven, headstrong individual, because Nature has higher knowledge than that of an economist or a philosopher. This is a universal insight and rather looking at it on a macro scale, it has to keep check on every result separately. By observing a group, it has to keep a check on not only on every subgroup but also has to functionalize every data. Humans are a specific intellectual creature limited in its logical capacity. He is incapable of assimilating such an enlarged view. He keeps his own objective foremost, and so doesn't know where, by involving into this objective, he is harming his own interest or wherein he conflicts with Nature's larger interests. There is a beneficial side in the failure of the nature - we will soon realize how big is this; in its whims and fancies there is a hidden seriousness. And on top of that, it remembers that beyond every external objective, there is a greater oblective, which is to functinalize the blessing of the world, which despite being supremely organized, fulfills the means. It moves in that direction; it enjoys all these things on its way; enjoys in her objective and also enjoys what is beyond its functionality.

The concept of Death

is the ancient treatise Bhava prakasha Bhava mishra, the authorof Ayurveda. Acharya of this book described the Genesis and promoters of Ayurveda in the beginning. Originally the creator of the world Brahman revealed the whole nature of Ayurvedic system. 'Brahma Samhita' is an exorbitant treatise illumined by Brahman, which consists of one lakh slokas describing the science of Ayurveda. Then Daksha Prajapati got this Ayurvedic learning. And Daksha handed over this culture to duo Ashwini kumars, the physicians of heaven. As Ashwini kumars got eminence in Ayurveda science, they wrote 'Ayurveda samhita' independently. After that they enlightened Indra with this knowledge. After Indra well versed from Ashwini kumars, preached this pious Ayurvedic science to Atri and the other sages.
Samhita'. The sage Sesh had arrived on earth as 'Cara', so it is named after him. Once Indra saw the earth, where he had seen people were suffering from diseases and they were feeling sorrow thinking about the death. His heart was filled with mercy. Then he sent Dhanwantari, the prime god, who is worshipped by all the worlds, to the earth. He got the command from Indra, went to kasi, and took the form of king Divodas there. Thus he was taught Ayurveda by Indra and for the welfare of the mankind he took a human form also. Dhanwantari was known as 'kasi raaja' and he wrote a book namely 'Dhanwantari samhita' and educate to all. Vishwa Mitra sent his son Susrita to Kasi raja to study Ayurveda. Susrita said to Kasi raja, 'I am afflicted to see these diseases and sufferers. So you teach me Ayurveda. Kasi Raja put all his diligent efforts to teach him the sacred knowledge. After the inculcation of Ayurveda, Susrita composed one treatise namely 'Susrita Samhita' The propagators and promoters of Ayurveda always explained that Ayurveda is the science that is invented to protect from death. Estimating the malefic deeds of the diseases, Bhava Mishra said that they prove 'deadly'. The Main text is like this Rogaah kaarshyakaraa balakshayakara dehasya chestaharaa Dustha indriya Sakti Samkshayakarah Sarvangapeedaakaraah. Dharmarthakhilakamamuktishu mahavighnaswarupa balat Prana nashu haranti santi yadi te kshemam kutah praninam. Means, Disease emaciates the body, exhausts strength, dilapidates all kinds of activities of body. They are defective; they devastate all the power and torture the senses. Above all, they create disturbance in gaining chaturvidha purushartha, i.e, righteousness, finance, amorousness, salvation. And they forcibly lead the patient to death. If any kind of disease is there in the body, then how the people live cheerfully? Ayurhitahimta vyadhernidhanam Shamanam tatha Vidyate yatra vidvabdhim sa Ayurveda uchyate.

Ayurveda and

age Atri came to Indra to study Ayurveda. Indra taught him this knowlege thoroughly. After that Sage Atri wrote 'Arogya samhita' and it is one more independent treatise in this ayur science. Then Agnivesh, Bhel, jatukarna, Parashara, Ksheerapaani and hareet were taught the Ayurvedic system subsequently. Among these sages Maharshi Agnivesh was established as founder and promoter of Ayurveda. And then Bhel and the other sages also revealed their own systems individually. After finishing their writing, they took it to Sage Atri to confirm its authority. Once the great sage Bharadwaj and the other sages went to the Himalayan ranges. Maharshi Bharadwaj was the first sage to reach Himalayas. He went there to seek an answer from lord Indra whether there is any suggestion to come out of the fear of death. Then Indra taught him Ayurveda thoroughly. After that he advocated all the living beings how to live a healthy life for thousands of years. A sage namely Sesh, who was born in the aura of Indra, came in disguise to the earth to enquire the well - being of earthly beings. He saw people were dying of diseases. The he decided to give the remedy for it and wrote along with the other disciples like sage Agnivesh , 'Ayurveda Tantra', which was famous as 'Caraka

Disease emaciates the body, exhausts strength, dilapidates all kinds of activities of body. They are defective. They devastate all the power and torture the senses

Above all, they create disturbance in gaining chaturvidha purushartha, i.e, righteousness, finance, amorousness, salvation.

Means, That science is called Ayurveda by scholars, which gives the knowledge how to protect his life, the knowledge of Regimen non-regimen, treatment of the disease. Anena purusho yasmadayurvindati vetti ca Tasmanmunivarairesha Ayurveda iti smritah. Means, that science is called Ayurveda by our ancient sages through which man gains longevity in life and know more about age related things. According to the instruction of Vaidya karma Bhava Mishra wroteVyadhastatwaparajnanam vedanaya swa nigrahah Etadwaighasya vaidyatwam na vaidyah prabhurayushah Means, a doctor is supposed to know the nature of the disease in detail. He must have an integrated acquaintance with the data of the disease as well as its treatment. A doctor is also a human being; he is not the lord of life. According to this statement, a doctor never protects a life, which proves fatal for the main objective of Ayurveda. And also 'Anena purusho yasmadayurvindati' is proved futile. So in this context, the usage of 'na' in the sloka can be understood like this 'Etadeva vaidyasya vaidyatwam na, kintu vaidya Ayusho pi prabhuh', which mean A doctor is not only a doctor, but also the master of 'ayu', the age. Then the question arises that if the doctor is the master of age, then a man would not die, which is against to the rule of mortal kingdom as the man is a mortal being. This doubt is cleared by Dhanwantari's saying which is available in 'Susrita Samhita' 'Ekottaram mrityushatatatharvanah prachakshate Tatraikah kaala samyuktaha seshashwagantavah smritah.' Means, According to the scholar who knows the wholesomeness of Ayurveda which is a part of Atharvaveda, hundred and one deaths are there. Out of these deaths, one death is called kala mrityu, means 'timely death' and rest of them happen suddenly like unexpected visitors. A doctor can protect his patient from all these hundred types of deaths. When the body reaches its last stage, then it is grasped by 'timely death' and it is called

'kaala mrityu'. In sloka, it is said that 'kaala samyuktah', which means- 'appointed for destruction by time'. So , this death is inevitable. All the other deaths are since visitors, Ayurveda is competent in preventing them. There are so many reasons described in Ayurveda about accidental deaths. Some reasons are given hereEating poison, indigestion due to taking excessive food, drinking contaminated water, struggling with more powerful beings, playing with venomous animals like snake, scorpion, to climb higher branches of the tree, reaching other shore by swimming the longer rivers, walking lonely at nights or wandering in the castle etc. Even though there is longer age, visiting death may happen without any cause, ex- even though oil is there; wick is there and also light is there. But suddenly storm put outs the light. Doctor can prevent those visiting deaths. Therefore it is said in 'Susrita Samhita' by Dhanwantari that 'the scholar of alchemy may endeavor to protect the king from all kinds of accidental/ visiting defects.' Doshagantunimittebhyo rasamantravisharadau Rakshetaam nripatim nityam yatnadwaidyapurahitau. Concludingly, we can say that the scholar of Ayurveda can prevent all the other types of deaths, except timely death. According to 'Madhav nidaan', the doctor who gives treatment for 'Sannipata jwara' (Typhus fever), grapples with death. One line is noteworthy in this context - 'mrityuna saha yodhavyam samnipatam chikitsata' In fact while giving treatment, doctor struggles with the death of that patient. Here 'death' means 'Agantuka mrityu' (visiting death). Bhava Mishra instructed doctors referring such critical times, to observe seriously whether the patient has longer life or shorter one. Then only a doctor should take up the case for treatment. Otherwise the doctor would not get success. Main sloka is like thisBhishagadau pareeksheta rugnasyayuh prayatnatah Tata Ayushi visteerno chikitsa saphala bhavet.
(Bhava Prakash- Mishra Prakarana, Mishra varga, Sloka 54)

Means, A doctor should scrutinize the age of the patient. Disease is cured depending upon the age. Ayurveda is a science, which is directly related to body. Body lives and it faces death. That's why in the science of Ayurveda, the concepts of Age and death are depended on body.

Corruption
the Denying the relevance of has burning issue become a part of the game of power. Doing this has also become a hobby of our so-called intellectuals. But yoga guru Baba Ramdevji has come forward to guide the people in this matter.

Rajpal Singh
of corruption in the present global scenario. We will continuously evaluate those social, economic, cultural, political and administrative systems, which promote the corruption in our society. But it is just nothing but the depiction of a significant fall in our moral values and character to accept the corruption as a normal tradition, a global phenomenon or a part of our normal life. The misery of our present system is that it tries to justify its flaws rather than finding way to get rid of it. We are witnessing a sharp decline in the moral values of the people who are in power in this democratic system. We are seeing a culture of decline in the moral values in the present political system in which democracy has been turned into a dirty game of number. Only those people will attain power in the present system of corruption, who will allow maximum fall in his moral values and character. It is the biggest irony of our present system that a corrupt person gets maximum support of the people and is voted to power. After attaining power he starts violating the fundamental rights of the same people who gave him the reins of the government. 3/4th part of our population has been marginalized in this system. They are the most suffering people in this system. They have been denied all basic amenities needed for living like a human being. It is high time for them to come forward to find out some ways to end the system of corruption and exploitation. Committing crime and promoting exploitation and injustice have become a right of the people who are at the helms of affairs. On the other

orruption is a global problem and it is associated with us in a very natural way. It will be enough to say in this matter that those countries where corruption is accepted as a global phenomenon have a murkier future and their sanctity is always unprotected. Admitting the reality of corruption and getting indulged in the acts of corruption are two different things. It is so because admitting the reality is the manifestation of our courage but getting indulged in such acts shows our mental weakness and it is a manifestation of our defeat. Is it right to give more importance to our needs and money over character and ethics? Darkness means absence of light. Is it an act of bravery to deny the identity of light and sitting idle in darkness? We needed to carry forward the search for the root cause of corruption. It is also required to contemplate over the issue

The way the people sitting in power are heading towards moral decline for their vested interests, an angry outburst of the large number of suppressed and exploited people is imminent.

hand, poor and weak people have accepted their sufferings as their destiny. The definition of power in the present system has totally changed. Earlier, like-minded political activists attained the political power. Now, the people of common vested interest share it. Such people of vested interest are bent on making money at any cost. Second-generation telecom frequency wave (2 G spectrum) allocation scam worth Rs 1.76 lakh crores is world's biggest scam. In present situation we are confronting a question- what to do now? Corruption, brokering and deceitful acts have become way of life in present situation and people indulged in such activities have become most adored in the society. People in power have always kept you in darkness. You come forward; I will show you the path of struggle. We have to create a new society. If present trend is allowed to continue, this world will soon reach to its end. The philosophy of "MAHAJANO YEN GATAH SA PANTHAH" (Pursue the path shown by great people) is being forgotten. Just call the spiritual power in your heart. That power will show you the right path. If you find yourself alone, just wake up

and come to help others. This will be a great help to yourself. Our ancestors sacrificed their lives only to let their future generations have a peaceful and prosperous life. But they didn't want us to forget their contributions and our duties to this nation. We have been deceived in the name of economic liberalization. Liberalization has benefited only three percent people and rest of the people have been badly exploited. A fall in political life has presented a gloomy situation. Elements like probity, purity, and responsible work culture are fast losing their relevance in our life. Now it is for the people of this country to decide if they want to make their nation on the ground of reckless thoughts or on the basis of morality and ethics. A struggle motivated by the vested interest can benefit very few people but for running a vast nation like India on the path of probity, we need to carry out a vast cultural movement. We have a need for a liberal, just and equitable way of life, which is the need of hour. (The article is based on the comments of Swami Ramdevji on combating corruption)

The philosophy of "MAHAJANO YEN GATAH SA PANTHAH" (Pursue the path shown by great people) is being forgotten. Just call the spiritual power in your heart. He will show you the right path. If you find yourself alone, just wake up and come to help others.

moment of her life for a lady. But this happiness comes with a lot of responsibilities too. Every mother wants her child to be beautiful, wise and strong in terms of mind and body both. A newly born baby happens to be very delicate and needs special care. For giving birth to a healthy, wise and a beautiful child who is strong mentally and physically, a mother has to be healthy both the mentally and physically and she also needs to follow regularly the rules of Rajaswala and Ritumaicharya (menstruation) besides the Putreshtiyagya Vidhan, Garvadhan Vidhan, Punsavan-Sanskaar. Moreover, she also needs to have the knowledge of auspicious and ominous elements associated with the birth of a child. She also needs to be acquainted with the rules, which are necessarily to be followed during pregnancy. One thing also needed to be taken care of. After conceiving, if a pregnant lady falls ill, it will definitely have an impact on the health of fetus.

According to various Hindu texts, the number of Sanskars vary from 16 to 40 but 16 of them are considered as very necessary to be followed. The sixteen Sanskaras have been further distributed into three parts.

Today's scientific findings also suggest that after the four months of his birth, a child is fit for the bearing the exposure of outer environment. He develops the ability to fight the infections when exposed to the ambiance. In our religious texts, a term 'Prashan' has been used for feeding fruit juice and cereal to a newly born baby. It means a child has primarily to be given soft meal and liquids for his nutrition in a very small amount.

Chudakarma sanskara
Acharya Kashyap has included this Sanskara in Ayurveda. Chudakarma means cutting hair of the child for the first time. It is also called Mundan Sanskar.

Karnavedhan
According to Acharya Sushrut, it has to be performed when the child is between six to eight months old. It should be performed in Shukla Paksha's Prashast Tithi while keeping the right Muhurta in Mind. According to Vaagbhatt, this Sanskara has to be performed in sixths, seventh or eighth month after the child's birth. Other texts give various timing for performing this Sanskara. First Sanskara after the birth is Jaatkarma. It is performed to ensure that the newly born baby could have a safe and secure life in the world. A child before his birth takes food from her mother's body. But after his birth the child need nutrition immediately. By performing this Sanskara, the child receives necessary nutrition. The digestive system of the child acts to get the food digested. Scholars have suggested the stuffs like Ghee, Madhu (Honey) and Swarna (gold) for this purpose. Acharya Sushrut has also called the tenth day of a child's birth as Namkaran. Ashtanghridayakaar has also said so and have described the methods suggested by Acharya Charak to be performed on the 10th or 12th day of the birth. Urinary diseases
The six important parts of our body, which are
joined together are- the area between navel and urine pipe, urine pipe, penis, the ditch in the buttock, anus. All these parts are very closely located together. The area between navel and urine pipe is the place where liquids percolate through various pipes. These liquids include Vaat, Cough and Pit, which could cause many kind of diseases in this part of the body.

hese diseases are very painful and sometimes unbearable for the patient. They cause pain in the area between navel and urine pipe and penis. In this condition, the urine also keeps percolating, though in small amount. In Vaataj rog (disease), the patient urinates with pain. In Pittaj, the secretion of urine is yellow, red and burning. When urine is not discharged, it gives a severe pain to the patient. In Kafaj, the patient has swelling in the area between navel and urine pipe and penis. The patient also feels difficulty in discharging urine. When the

area between navel and urine pipe is covered with air, the cough makes the urine and sperm dry. Stone is formed in the patient's body in this condition. Almost all the stones are formed because of cough. This causes a kind of obstruction in the area between navel and urine pipe. The patient feels severe pain in the area in the body where stone is formed. The patient's urine smells as the goat's urine and he also suffers fever. Pain in navel, fore part of penis and the area between navel and urine pipe is the normal symptoms of this disease. The patient feels difficulty in discharging the urine but when the urine is completely discharged, the patient feels relaxed. The colour of the patient's urine is like cow urine. The stone formed due to Vaataj, is black in colour and its surface is rough. The stone formed due to Pittaj appears burning. It colour could be red, black or yellow. Stone formed due to cough causes pain in the area between navel and urine pipe. This kind of stone is either white in colour or it appears like colour of honey. This stone is normally formed in a child. But it is easy to remove the stone form a child's body. If one tries to stop the flow of sperm forcefully, it causes sperm stone which is very dangerous. It is formed of the sperm, which is not allowed to come out of penis. The sperm is dried by dirty air and it turns into sperm stone. This stone is white in colour. is a great source of inspiration for Name of the great freedom fighter Lala Lajpat Rai love for the nation, his religion and the people of this country. Influenced by his culture, Lalaji dedicated his life in the service of his motherland. One of his various creative activities was writing. He was an able writer of Urdu and English languages.

Jayshankar Mishra 'Savyasanchi

co-editor/ HoD,

alaji was born on 28th January 1865 in his maternal uncle's house at Dhundhike village of Faridkot district of Punjab. His father Lala Radhakrishna who hailed from Jagraon Kasba of Ludhiana district, was an Agarwal Bania and was a teacher by profession. After Lalpat Rai turning to Arya Samaj, his father Lala Radhakrishna also showed interest in Tretvaad, the philosophical ideas of Vedas, which talks about the eternity of god, living creatures and nature. Lala Lajpat Rai's primary education began when he was five years old. In 1880, he passed entrance tests from Kolkata and Punjab universities and came to Lahore for further studies. Here he entered in Government College and passed in F.A. and studies of Law in 1882. Lalaji came in contact with Arya Samaj in Lahor. Lala Hansraj, the first principal of DAV College Lahore and famous vedic scholar Pandit Gurudutt were his classmates. These two people made Lajpat Rai acquainted with the views of Swami Dayananda Saraswati. First of all Lajpat Rai joined the profession of a lawyer in his home town Jagraon but as the town was very small and he saw very little opportunities for future growth, he shifted to Rohtak. Those days, Punjab province consists of both parts Indian and Pakistani Punjab and Himachal Pradesh and Haryana. Later he passed the exam for becoming a senior counsel in 1885 and came to Hisar in 1886. He stayed there till 1892 where he earned fame as a successful lawyer and then shifted to Lahore. Since then, Lahore was the center of all his public activities. Though, Lalaji had started his social activities during his stay in Hissar where he worked for social causes in association with Lala Chandulala, Pandit Lakhpat Rai and Lala Chudamani. But after shifting to Lahore, he began to work for political causes besides working for Arya Samaj. For the first time in 1888, Lalaji attended Allahabad session of Congress. In 1906, Lalaji visited England with Gopal Krishna Gokhale as a member of a Congress delegation. From England, he went to America. In association with his colleagues like Bal Gangadhar Tilak and Bipin Chandra Pal, Lala Lajpat Rai started a aggressive wing within the Congress, which was popularly known as 'Garam Dal'. Before that, Congress had a moderate and pro-government approach to seek political rights for the people of this country.

When farmers in Punjab raised their voice against the government in 1907, Lalaji was arrested and was sent to Mandle jail of Burma. But under immense pressure from people of this country, the government was forced to withdraw its decision and Lalaji was released. On his return from the jail, he received warm welcome by the people. Lalaji's life and work inspire us to work and make sacrifices for our nation. Lalaji also made a great contribution for the social causes. During perilous draught in north India during 1896 to 1899 (In Rajasthan, it is known as draught of 56 as it was 1956th Year of Vikrami calendar), Lalaji worked with his colleague Hansraj to help the people. Lalaji arranged shelter for the orphaned children and sent them to the Arya Samaj's orphanages in Firozpur and Agra. Christian Missionaries were trying to adopt these children after converting them into Christianity. Lalaji also played a vital role in rescue and relief operations during deadly earthquake in Kangra area of present day's Himachal Pradesh in 1905 and severe draught in Orissa in 1907. In Surat session of Congress in 2007, Lalaji and his associates, known as Garam Dal (aggressive faction of Congress) convinced the people that mere pleading and filing applications before British government will not fetch us independence. During First World War (1914-18), Lalaji visited England as a member of a delegation for the second time where he campaigned for the freedom of India. From England, Lalaji went to Japan and USA. In America, he strongly presented his views in favour of India's independence. In 1928, India's nationalist leaders decided to boycott the Simon commission. When the commission reached Lahore, the government imposed section 144. To show a black flag to the members of the commission at Lahore Railway Station, a procession was carried out in the city under the leadership of Lala Lajpat Rai. All the demonstrators were shouting 'Simon go back'. The police started Lathi Charge on the demonstrators. British police officer Sanders brutally hit at Lajpat Rai's chest with a lathi. The same evening, while addressing a public meeting, Lalaji said, "Each hit of Lathi on my chest will prove to be a nail in the coffin of British empire." Injured after the police crack down, Lalaji fell ill and died after 18 days of the incident on 18th November 1928.

Importance of cows

in foreign countries
The views about drinking cow milk and eating cow meat (beef) in India and abroad are quite contrary.
Worshiping cows is an age-old tradition in our India society. This is the land where gods was born and because of the plenty of milk production, it is believed that there were rivers of milk in this country in ancient times. But today, ironically it is the same country where cows are slaughtered in large number and those who worship cows are struggling hard to have a ban on cow slaughter.

Lallan Prasad Vyas

to a few parts cow milk is scarcely the people of Exceptmilkavailable toof the country, this country. Buffalo has replaced the cow milk. We are witnessing a significant decline in number and condition of the cows in this county. On the contrary, in almost all the western and eastern countries, the production of cow milk is increasing day by day. These countries are exporting a large quantity of cow milk and cow milk products across the world while eating cow meat is a normal phenomenon in these counties. For the people of these countries, milk means cow milk, not the buffalo milk. In many countries, buffalos can be seen only in the museums.

diseases. Nowadays, a rising trend of vegetarianism is being witnessed in these countries. New research concludes that vegetarianism is very useful for long and healthy life. Following are some of the facts, which reflect the importance of cows in the foreign countries

Worshiped in Bali
1] There is a place called Taro in Bali, Indonesia, where white cows are worshiped. These cows are known as 'Lamboo' in local language. 2] People of Bali also use cow dung and cow urine as sacred stuffs while performing rituals as people in India do. 3] There is a place called 'Nisapanida' in the capital of Bali. In ancient times, it was a center of devotees of lord Vishnu and people didn't eat cow meat there. 4] Those who unknowingly ate beef or passed through cow slaughterhouses in Bali, they had to perform rituals and take a holy bath in the river before entering in the villages. 5] Elderly people of Bali say that those who ate cow meat in ancient time, they were considered as dirtiest than a dog. Cow is revered as a mother in our culture. It is believed that she a home to 36 crore deities. She is worshiped in our country for many generations. But same sacred animal is being slaughtered in a large numbers, which is a cause of natural calamities like- flood and drought. The killing of any animal is unethical. All living creature in this nature have equal right to live like us. India is a land of great supporters of nonviolence like Bhagwan Mahaveer, Mahatma Gandhi, Swami Vivekananda and Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati. India is a land of peace, nonviolence and values for good behaviour. Now it is our responsibility to come forward to end the ill practices like cow slaughter from this country.

Cow milk is used as a primary foodstuff in many countries of the world. But unfortunately, cow has no respect for the people in those countries Cow milk is good for our health while eating cow meat causes many diseases

No Body drinks buffalo milk

A few years back, while traveling through rural parts of Taiwan, I saw some buffalos. I asked an officer about the use of their milk. The officer simply replied that their milk is used to feed their calves. Some years back in Thailand, there was a similar situation. But some people from eastern India settled in that country and they promoted buffalo milk. All such incidences prove that cow milk is very important for human health but the cow, which deserves to be worshiped, is slaughtered at a large scale in many parts of the world. No question rises to impose a ban on cow slaughter in the foreign countries because they are yet to learn about the importance of cows. They don't know the difference between cows and other animals. Cow milk is good for our health while eating its meat is a cause of many diseases. If we have a detailed study on the many diseases, which originated from western countries, we will find that eating cow meat or beef is the root cause of such

Our ancient mythological texts have talked in detail about the importance of five fundamental elements like, Prithvi (the earth), Jal (the water), the sky (Akash), Vayu (the air) and Agni (the fire). Vedas and Upanishads have also talked in detail about the importance of these five elements besides of greenery and environment. According to our ancient saints, our body is made of these five fundamental elements.

Purity of environment has had a prominent place in Indian culture since ancient times.

age-old beliefs, discharging excrement in rivers and ponds is seen a crime. Defining the Indian culture at one place, Dr Vashudev Sharan Agrawal has said, "The whole contribution which the people of India have made to the world civilization is Indian culture." To ensure a durable coexistence between human beings and nature, our saints and scholars associated the every element and constituent of the environment with religion. Special emphasis has been given on the purity of nature in Jainism. Violence and slaughtering the animals is seen as a big crime in this religion and it is mandatory for a Jain to drink water after making it germ free. According to the legend of Mahabharata, King Shivi had vowed to sacrifice his life to save a dove. Sita stayed under an Ashok tree during her detention by demon King Ravan in Lanka. Most of Indians cremate their relatives after their death because the fire destroys all the harmful microorganisms and bacteria in the dead body. But this thing is not possible when the dead bodies are buried or drowned. Sanity is very important element of Indian culture. In Indian way of life style, one has to wake up early in the morning, clean the stomach, wash the face and teeth, take bath, worshiping the almighty, prayer for lord Surya (the sun), prayer for goddess Gayatri and performing Yagna all these activities have been an integral part of our culture. All such things make our mind and body pure. Going in the forests or fields for discharging body waste in the morning completes our morning walk and it also removes the complications in our digestive system like constipation. Morning walk also helps us to fight cardiac problems. In our tradition, we clean utensils and stoves before cooking meal and sit bare foot for taking meal. We also have a custom of eating food and drinking water in separate pots, passing water through a filter before drinking it, offering our food to Agni (fire) before taking it. All these activities symbolize the importance of sanity in our culture. Purity of mind, body, food, behaviour, words and our belongings has been a very important aspect of our culture. For the betterment of this world, it is very important to maintain the natural balance among five fundamental elements like- Prithvi (the earth), Jal (the water), the sky (Akash), Vayu (the air) and Agni (the fire). Many beautiful hymns can be found in the Rig Veda, which were composed to underscore the importance of herbs and plants. Hymns to praise the Saraswati River are also there in Rig Veda. (Rig Veda: 2-4-16). It also symbolizes the respect for the environment in our ancient culture. The elements like, Austerity, a feeling of equality for all living and nonliving things, sanity nonviolence, forgiveness, meditation, truth, sagacity and self-study, make us responsible towards conservation of environment.

ature, which is very essential for our existence, is actually a combination of air, water, soil, plants and animals in a certain proportion. All living beings depend on nature for their various needs. Actually, the nature's biggest gift to the mankind is environment and its protection is our greatest responsibility. We should make a sagacious use of our environment. We should also awaken our future generations about the conservation of our environment. Awareness about the conservation of environment is the most important need of the hour. Environment can be defined as- everything which has surrounded us from all sides like air water, flora and fauna constitute the environment. In ancient time, our saints had defined the five fundamental elements as five deities so that a sense of respect for the environment could be induced among the masses. Our culture flourished in a close contact with nature and the Upanishads were composed in the forest. To show our respect for the nature, we worshiped various living beings- both the plants and animals- as the Vahan (carriers) of deities. River is worshiped as the carrier of lord Shiva, Mushik (the Rat) of lord Ganesha, Sinh (the lion) of goddess Durga, Ullu (the owl) of goddess Lakshmi, Garur (the eagle) of lord Vishnu, Sheshnaag (the incarnation of lord Vishnu in the form of a snake) of Prithvi (the earth), Hans (Swan) of goddess Saraswati etc. According to the philosophy of "Jivo Jivasya Bhojanam" (an animal is eaten by another animal), some of them eat others but we equally revere them. Jal (the water) is worshiped as lord Varuna, Agni (the fire) is also worshiped as a god. Sagar (the sea) is also worshiped as a god. We have also been worshiping the rivers like- Ganga, Yamuna, Kaveri, Chambal, Sindhu (Indus) and Brahmaputra for generations. According to our

Dont be Superstitious

The fear of superstition makes us weak from inside

it fills us with negative energy but the moment we resolve to get rid of superstitions; we are filled with a great positive energy.

People with low confidence level easily fall in the quagmire of superstition. Being superstitious means leading a meaningless life. Such people deny listening the voice of their own soul and they get easily deceived by others.

Rakesh Chakra

ven in today's modern world of science and technology, many well-educated people can be seen living under the fear of superstition. An anonymous fear always troubles them and they are found running after reckless notions. They lack strong will power and they are forced to reel under the threat of misfortune. But the moment one resolves to get rid of such mindless things with firm deter-

mination, he/she become filled with a fresh and positive energy. It is often seen that many people avoid moving further on seeing someone sneezing before them or a cat crossing the road before them. It's almighty who controls good or evil things. It is usually said that we should avoid hair cutting or shaving on Thursday because it is ominous. But saloons are opened on even this particular day and many people happy visit there for hair cutting or shaving and nothing wrong happens with them. Superstitions are mainly predominant in rural parts of our country. A bride doesn't embark on a journey on some selected days of a week, which is another example of senseless notion. Some people say that on a particular day, one should not start a journey in a particular direction. Often we listen that a particular house or a particular tree is haunted or we often see in the rural areas that instead of a doctor, a god man or a priest is called to treat a sick person. When a dog or a monkey bites someone, even then, a priest or a god man is called for treatment. Many people lost their life only because of their reckless decisions under the influence of superstition. Reading authentic books enhances our confidence and makes us enlightened. Roaming after thoughtless things keeps us deprived of getting real knowledge of life. One of the biggest superstitions in our society has been a desire of seeing the birth of a masculine child and a

feeling of disappointment when a female child is born in a family. Our society has a wrong notion that our masculine child is necessary to get salvation in our life. It is also believed that having a son is a matter of pride in the society. Similarly, people feel ashamed on being deprived of a son. Even when someone dies, the presence of his or her sons is considered necessary to carry out the funeral. This is the reason why people blindly run after superstitious beliefs. They visit to priests, god men and religious places in desperation to seek a masculine child. Even for the treatment of the diseases like jaundice, people take to superstitious methods. The cause of this disease has nothing to do with one's fortune. This disease is caused by irregularities in our food behaviour like access of alcohol, drinking contaminated water, avoiding green vegetables in our meal, which leads to the irregularities in our liver, which eventually culminates into the diseases like jaundice. When you are suffering from jaundice, you should immediately visit to a good doctor for proper treatment and take the food, which is easy to digestible. Superstition not only endangers our life but it also causes the wastage of money. Don't be superstitious. Always adopt good habits for happy and healthy life. Trust on almighty not on reckless things.

This is the reason why our bureaucrats are preparing the developmental projects, which are mainly aimed at the development of urban areas. Development officers hardly care about rural parts of our country. Earlier, the villages were at the center of government's plans for developmental projects. Now they are fast losing their relevance for the government. But we will have to focus on both the economic and social development of the villages. Development in the rural areas is possible only by the means of human development. Human development means inducing good habits in people, promoting quality education, focusing on health care facilities. We will have to work for result-oriented schemes for the development of the rural parts of the country. Villages are the fundamental units of our country. Until the growth is evasive to these unties, we can't image of the development of our country. From health point of view, the environment in our villages is more conducive to our health than that of the environment in the urban areas. This has been revealed in the American Journal of Epidemiology. But interestingly, the trend is totally reversed in United States of America where people in urban areas are more

active and enjoying good health than that of the people in the rural areas. But in India, those who have migrated from rural areas to the urban areas for their livelihood are more prone to diseases than their relatives who are still living in the villages.

Pleasure in villages
Clean environment: Pollution level in the rural areas is much lower than that of the urban areas. Good environment provides clean water, healthy life and beauty of nature, which are highly conducive for a happy life.

Happy Life
Rural economy is based on agriculture. Agriculture requires hard work, which helps our farmers to lead a balanced and active life. Pure meal, fresh vegetables and fruits are available to them. According to a study of London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, the blood pressure level of those who are living in the urban areas for over 30 years is 126, while those who are living in the rural areas have a blood pressure level of 123. This study was conducted under the guidance of Sanjay Kinra whose team conducted a comparative study on the people who have a rural background but they live in the cities like Lucknow, Bengaluru, Nagpur and Hyderabad. Likewise, the obesity rate in the rural areas is 21 percent while those who migrated from rural areas to the urban areas about a decade back have the obesity rate of 24 percent. According to a UNO report, the population in the urban areas is increasing at a rate of 1.1 percent per year while the rural areas are witnessing a population deficit of 0.37 percent.

Falling health condition

Within a decade of migrating from rural areas to the urban areas, people begin to face the problem of obesity. Later, the problems like diabetes, heart diseases and other disease start to be faced by the people.

Reason
Studies suggest that such problems occur because of imbalance in diet and irregularities in routine life. Primarily it is important to have a check on the problem of obesity, which is root cause of all diseases. Yoga guru Ramdevji Maharaj has been advocating that rural population, the poor, the farmers and the labour-

ers, all should get their share in political power and national budget as per the proportion of their population. It is shameful that they are termed as unskilled labourers and they are being exploited everywhere. Soul of this country exists in the rural India. It is our duty to fill the gap between deprived India and shining India. Swamiji believes that the present generation should improve itself to be a source of inspiration for future generation. Irresponsible political system has yielded the irregularities in the management of water resource, which is a cause for draught, flood, famine and farmers' suicide across the country. We have a 17.5 crore hectare of agricultural land in the country, out of which 10 crore hectare can be used for agricultural purposes by the help of good water management. If this portion of land could be harnessed properly for the agricultural activities, we will get rid of the problems like famine and we won't have a need to import pulses, edible oils and cereals from abroad. This will be highly helpful in eradicating poverty in the rural areas. All turn to villages and live a happy, healthy and prosperous life. It is our prime responsibility. But government's aid is a must to meet these challenges.

According to a study, people in the rural areas enjoy good health than the people in the urban areas, only because of fresh environment and hard work in agricultural activities.

infrastructural development and shadow of western culture, Despite massive basically a spiritual nation. Here social, economical, educational India is and cultural changes have taken place with the support of spiritual revolutions. Thaghat Buddha, Tirthankar Mahavir, Adi Shankaracharya, Saint Ravidas, Guru Nanak, Saint Kabir, Patriot Raskhan, Maharshi Dayanand, Swami Vivekanand were the leaders of spiritual revolutions, who undertook serious and sincere efforts for the upliftment of the society.
eace, good conduct, love, purity, devotion, trust and mercy towards animal has been the universal spiritual message of India, which has been echoing in the world since decades. Thathagat suggested the way to get rid of pathetic life, death, desire, violence and sadness. Maharshi Dayanand spread the light of Vedas and took the nation on the path of all-round development. The founder of yoga revolution honorable Swami Ramdevji maharaj popularized yoga and thus, awoke the sleeping soul of India. Yog guru honorable Swami Ramdev has with sacrifice, meditation, hard work, unparallel intelligence, scientific knowledge, impressive writing, amazing organizational capability and gentle devotion invented an easy way of Yoga, accepting which even a common man could also achieve the highest standards of yoga. He has invented such an easy process of pranayam and meditation that person of all age group, patients and women could gain health and remain disease free. With the help of meditation, pranayam the source of unending energy Swami Ramdev has taught `maha mantra` to get victory on all the physical, mental and spiritual problems. He made the nation aware against artificial living, unnatural chemical medicines, drugs, intoxicants and pizza culture. Whoever came under the shadow of Gurudev with strong will and performed yoga in disciplined manner got rid of illness and problems. The devotees got the inspiration to serve the nation. Likewise, he also ignited yoga revolution in India and the world. Indian yoga is an old and ancient

art but slowly from world and India, its popularity and importance faded out. Now due to the hard work of Swami Ramdev, his commitment and magnetic personality, the art has not only revived but gaining popularity in India and abroad. Honorable Swami Ramdev, committed to yoga science and the great lighthouse of Ayurveda Acharya Balkrishna have established Patanjali yogpeeth and Patanjali University, which is a ray of hope the world. With the help of these institutions, yoga, ayurveda, Vedic knowledge and other ancient heritage would benefit entire world. It would help in integral upliftment of the nation and to bring peace. A new way of creating violence free, war, disease free, crime and pollution free world would be created. Today, the developing nations are being attracted towards yoga, ayurveda, naturo-therapy, vegetarianism, herbal products and medicines. The farmers are now doing cattle based, pollution-free farming. In many nations, yoga has been included in the curriculum in colleges and universities. Though, still yoga has not been widely accepted but I have faith that with the help of Patanjali, the message of yoga would be spread not only in Indiabut also in the world. According to Swamiji my objective is not to popularize yoga among 120 crore Indians but I want to spread it beyond boundaries to 650 crore people of the world. Ashtang yoga is a complete science. Practicing yoga could ensure all-round development of all people, male, females in all manners including physically, mentally, morally and spiritually. A person could control brain, mind and soul

and thus, ensure self-control. In yoga exercise, pranayam is the most important part. Pranayam cures most of the ailments of body and soul and purifies it. People, who regularly practice pranayam, meditation and devotion could be saved from all types of diseases, including physical, mental and moral. People in family life or seers could perform pranayam and attain height of devotion. The modern medical science too is attracted towards such researches and trying to establish the role of yoga in protecting human health and keep diseases at bay. According to Acharya Balkrishna, the master of Ayurveda `Patanjali yogpeeth would ensure that vedic knowledge, ayurveda and yoga get scientific recognition in the world so that all the people could be benefited. And he is making allefforts in the same direction.` The living university of yoga science in itself Swami Ramdev has impressed with his dedication, commitment, nationalists and the revolutionary findings of yoga science and hence being included in curriculum in different educational institutions. Many educationists believe that in place of sex education, if yoga education is being given to the students, it would ensure mental, physical, morale development of the students. They would be healthier, mentally and physically. Even at middle level from class 6th to class 10th, in all the schools of the nation a subject of physical and moral education shall be introduced to provide yoga lessons. The course could be taught six days a week. Likewise, on the last day of the month, first four subjects could be of yoga and pranayam while the rest four classes could be reserved for sports, scouts and guides education and speech training. Even for a common man yoga education is very beneficial. Each human being shall perform yoga exercise, vegetarian food, pranayam, meditation and devotion to bring self-development.

Persons could limit families' upto two children. The population blast is alarming and a dangerous signal for India and the entire world. In the name of population control and family planning, crores of rupees are being spent in the nation every year. Many mothers bear the pain of abortion and surgery. If this money is being used in publicity of yoga education and pollution control, the mounting population could be controlled naturally. Yoga education, pranayam, meditation, natural diet and herbal medicines could help in establishing disease-free, crimefree and pollution-free society. According to a study, 30 percent of Indian revenue is being spent on medical facility, medicines and service to patients besides fall in production due to ill persons. The central and state Governments spend millions of rupees every year on medical and health purpose but if they promote yoga, natural diet, pure drinking water, naturopathy and ayurvedic medicine and cow milk, the dream of India being disease free would be realized soon. If every Ayurveda doctor is being

If every Ayurveda doctor is being given one year additional training of yoga and natural medicine, most of the disease could be cured. Yoga and naturopathy shall be a part of Ayurveda branch of medical science.

given one year additional training of yoga and natural medicine, most of the disease could be cured. Yoga and naturopathy shall be a part of Ayurveda branch of medical science. Even a disease free person needs nature, pranayam and meditation to remain healthy for longer period. With yoga practice each person could ensure physical and mental discipline of highest level and selfdevelopment. Each citizen could ensure self-development with the help of yoga and pranayam and as a chain reaction, individual development would be the nation's development. Men or women could prove to be good citizen after exercising yoga and contribute in the development and the progress of the nation as a true soldier. Yoga training could make even countrymen as a true, honest and patriot person. This could ensure good teachers, leaders, army men, pilots, scientists, rulers, administrators, doctors, writers, labours and traders, who could give active contribution in the development of the nation. Seers may develop their spiritual life, using pranayam, meditation and dedication, which would ultimately improve their self-control. Dedicating themselves in the devotion and love of god, they could contribute in the upliftment of the nation. The campaigner of yoga and spiritualism, Swami Ramdevji Maharaj has said that `experiments have already proved that yoga cure diseases.` a Yoga exercise purifies soul and mind, which changes the course of thoughts. With change in thoughts, entire course of life changes. An ideological revolution has begun in entire world and now the powers for peace would gather on a single dais. The route for world peace would be cleared. The message of yoga is echoing in entire world, our country, in each city and village, in all the religions, caste, creed and societies and in the hearts of each individual. The yagna of world peace would complete and each living creature would have the blessings of decent life and decent death.

is the natural Hunger needs food. Hunger human life. phenomenon of the The process is being controlled and regulated by the body and in the process many neurochemical hormones and enzymes participate. According to the findings of ultra-modern researches and scientist Alexander Kokkinos of Athens University, a person when in the state of hunger eats peacefully.

Dr Nagendra Kumar Neeraj

Some feel more hunger while others have less and the reason behind it is genetic.

This could be a habit of genome, which varies from generation to generation.

n fire, when we drop ghee (clarified butter), it flares-up. Similarly, during hunger items with more fat add fuel to hunger. University of Cincinnati have discovered that when meal, with more fat is taken it add to the hunger hormone ghrelin, which causes feeling of hunger. In fact for the deposition of fatty acid fats present in the body does not inflame hunger but fats available in the meal fuel it. In fact ghrelin added with fatty acid forms Ghrelin-O-AssilationTransference (GOAT) which ultimately activates ghrelin. This increases hunger. Even if someone thinks of food, the level and production of ghrelin increases. It increases hunger. This hormone also helps in fighting against pressure, tension and depression. When in tension and depression, the level of gherelin increases, which lessens depression. But with its increment, hunger also increases and person consumes more food. This adds to the obesity. The scientists have also said that during depression, tension, just think of food and edibles. This would reduce tension. In such condition take edibles with lesser calorie like watermelon, cucumber, tomato, apple and guava. This would reduce tension and control obesity. In 1998, French scientist Eating Disorder had done a lot research on it. Some feel more hunger and some less. A major cause behind

Hunger, food, disease and health

it is genetic. This could trickle down from generation to generation being a heredity problem. The University Of Pittsburg School Of Medicine has, in a latest research found that there is 12 percent chance that less or more hunger is heredity problem. Women and girls are doing lot efforts to get slim, trim and fit but in the process are suffering with psychosomatic diseases, which have spoiled many lives. There are many hunger related diseases like Bulimia Nervosa, Anorexia Nervosa, Night Eating syndrome, Binge Eating disorder,

Exercise Resistance disorder, restricted eating disorder, Anthrorexia, Neonatal Progeroid Syndrome and others, which occur due to family genetic problem and social and outside environment. To escape eating disorder, develop good habits among the children since beginning. But don't criticize obese children for their fatness and maintain their self-respect and will-power. Find positive and constructive activities among them and try to develop those habits. Praise them for good work. Try increase hunger of mind and give diet of praise. Encourage them to think that being beautiful by body is not enough but be lovely by heart too. The Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond conducted research on 1500 women in the age group of 19-55 years within a span of five years. The research concluded that when twin male or females are brought-up in same environment, atmosphere, then both have problem of Bulimia Nervosa or overeating. The couple, which was not twins but have 50 percent genetic similarity, might have the problem of Bulimia. In 1999, the scientists of Britain established that when the level of Mud Regulating Feel good happy hormones serotonin reduces, the people have habit of overeating. Even the people, who eat more, are under the influence of serotonin. Many people have lack of serotonin when in tension and hence they are in habit of overeating. Dieting, fast, malnutrition, hunger reduces Tryptophan in the body. Tryptophan Amino Acids produces Serotonin. Experiments have also found that the person, who feels more hunger, has desire of sex to continue for longer period. They always remain concern

for body look, beauty and image. But they could not resist when offered good and more meals and then get obese. Then they start efforts to reduce weight. And in the process, get mentally depressed. The doctors prescribe Prozac and fluidic. They make efforts to balance Serotonin in a human body but remain unsuccessful. In fact Serotonin is 5 MT (hydroxytryptamine) chemical. It reduces gastric release. It is a strong medicine for veins contraction. With decrease in Serotonin, suicidal tendency, depression, doubt increase. To get rid of depression, artificial Serotonin supplements and other medicines are being used. Due to its ill-effect Corticoid syndrome is increasing fast. This causes fever and confusion. Even the appendix could have more release of Serotonin, which could ultimately become cancer tumor. Some common tumors too release Serotonin, which generate symptoms of asthma. While watching TV, hearing stories and talking, habit of over-eating develops. The present environment, atmosphere and surrounding and the wish to remain slim and trim, adopting all available means has resulted into irregularities in the life style and human body. In the villages, according to Indian tradition, women eat leftover food. Sometimes, they do not eat vegetables and on occasions eat without roti. But now environment in the villages is also changing fast. People are getting healthy and nutritious food. But on the contrary, the problem is increasing in urban areas. The problem of over-eating is, though genetic but still with improveContinuedpage no 52

The scientists have already certified that when moot regulating feel-good happy hormone, Serotonin reduces, the habit of over-eating increases. Even the person, who has taken complete meal feels hungry and wish to eat more.

ment and environment and surrounding, it could be made better. But without any pre-consideration and thoughts, reducing food intake also creates many problems. It develops OCD and Anorexia Nervosa and psycho neurosis. Do not always criticize your body weight for hunger related diseases. The families, where members always discuss issues of remaining slim-trim, fit with slim thighs would always be in edibles related depression. Children or adults shall behave properly with over-weight persons and respect their sentiments. Explore other goods in such person and convey so that he or she could maintain his self-respect and self-confidence. Do not compare them with slim persons. The beauty of soul could be generated by any individual. The hunger of being praised is more aggressive than the hunger of stomach. Whenever you find opportunity, always praise children. It would

for sure help in improving their all-round personality. The children, who are not praised, suffer from the habit of over-eating. Food is for proper health and taste. During meal, consider both these factors. More oily and spicy food decreases sensation and the human organs, help enjoying taste gets ineffective slowly. This also damages human health. Avoid artificial food and use traditional and healthy food. Dump fast food, junk food, synthetic food and confectionary food and revive age-old tradition of healthy food. Each person should think with new vision about health. We have all right to preserve and protect our age old traditions. There is deep relation in `bhojan ki thali`, earth, nature and us. Meal should be neat, pure and natural. Whatever we are eating should not harm environment, animals and others. It should be nutritious and tasty. Due to industrialization, meals, soil, environment, water resources, living creatures, eco-resources are being polluted and damaged. The human taste has vanished birds like dodo and trees like calvarias. Now the time has come to awake in this connection. We could remain healthy only after keeping environment pure and our old eating traditions secure. Whatever parents consume, children also like to eat. A woman should be extra careful during pregnancy and while feeding milk. In this period, whatever is mothers' intake, it is being liked by the children. To keep infants healthy use healthy fresh fruits, vegetables and sprouted cereals and grains while in pregnancy and even otherwise. The health of human being depends on family environment and meals. This would conserve family, social and national health.

The meal should be neat, clean and natural. The meal should be prepared without damaging environment, living creatures. It should be nutritious, tasty and healthy.

Death of Rajbala,

martyrdom against

Corruption
The first struggle of Independence began in 1857 and against the colonialism rule of
British Government, it was the first organized struggle. The struggle was aggressive, wide and many people laid their lives for the sake of the motherland. Different segments of the Indian society, joined hands to protest against British rule inIndia. Farmers, army men and other common men besides some royal families lit the torch of freedom struggle against suppression and atrocity of East India Company. Thus, 1857 struggle, the first challenging fight against British is an event, written in golden words in the pages of Indian struggle.
against corruption. He said that her death would not go in vain and her millions of brothers and sisters would continue their struggle against corruption and black money deposited in foreign banks. Last rites of sister Rajbala was performed in her ancestral village Bhatana, Sonipat, Gohana Road in Haryana on 27th September. Her ashes were submerged in holy river Ganga in Haridwar. The martyrdom of sister Rajbala has ignited a fire against corruption and black money in the heart of every Indian. Even after death, she has inspired the people to build a new India. Her untimely death was condemned widely. Her departure before last salute to the life has left a big vacuum and it appears that she could not express before the world, what exactly she wanted to. On the occasion, the couplets of pundit Ramprasad Bismil appears to be fit `Hamne aag lagaye jo inqualab ki, us aag ko kisi se bujhaya na jayega. Kahte hai alvida apne jehan ko, jakar ke khuda ke ghar se to aya na jayega. The martyrdom of Rajbala would definitely pave way for uprooting corruption and bringing back huge money stashed in foreign banks. I am confident that all the nationalistic forces would join hands under the leadership of Yogrishi Swami Ramdev to fight against corruption and black money.

Jaishankar Mishra Savyasanchi

ndia though is independent but still people of Hindustan are in grip of poverty, hunger, corruption, illiteracy and diseases. To get rid of these problems besides demand to uproot corruption and bringing back black money deposited in foreign banks, Yogrishi Baba Ramdevji Maharaj under the banner of Bharat Swabhiman, made the people aware and blew the bugle of second Independence struggle. On 4 June 2011, a big nonviolent agitation held at Ramlila ground, New Delhi. The union Government got scared as many thousand people turned-up to participate in the agitation. Consequently, the Delhi Police in barbaric manner cane-charged on the innocent activists. Even women were not spared. In the Police action against Baba Ramdev ji and his supporters, on June 4, 2011, sister Rajbala was seriously injured. She fought for life for a few months at GB Pant hospital and ultimately died. Her spinal chord was badly damaged, which was the main reason for her death. Yogrishi Swami Ramdevji Maharaj has termed sister Rajbalas death as martyrdom

With yoga exercise, the effectiveness of joints increases. The diseases related to joints, muscles and deformities of back-bone like problem of gibbous could be treated with yoga exercises. he problem of back gone exist both in men and women but elderly women are more affected. The structure of the women cause back-bone related problems. During menstrual even a little jolt could cause fracture in the backbone. Most of the women in elderly age have pain in back bone. In elderly age, the resistance power of the women reduce, which make

them prone to the problem. The main problem occurring to the women include pain in the back bone, bent back-bone, displacement of the back-bone, and pain in neck due to bent posture and swelling in the back-bone. After the menstrual period ends, production of hormones stops in the women's human body. This make changes in the human body, which grows weaker. Though, it affects entire body but back-bone is badly affected. Even other bone of the women too grows fragile. In the elderly men and women, hip bone particularly grows weak and fragile. Likewise, wrist bone, leg bones and arm bones are also vulnerable. Pain starts in all the joints and bones. There is danger of bones being cracked after small jolt. When knee bone grew weak, women experience problems in standing and even sitting. People suffering from the problem can't stand erect and have problem in even walking. The problem begins even without pain or symptoms of decaying of bones. The patient knows about the problem, only after damage in the back-bone with even minor jolt. This cause severe problem and the fact come to light after x-ray. Due to decay in back bone, old persons can't stand straight and have problems in normal walking. To make back bone strong and flexible, old persons shall particularly take care of food habits. They should take protein-rich lentils, soya been, milk, curd, cheese and other such items rich in protein. Milk has maximum percentage of calcium. Thus, it shall be an essential component of the meal. More use of vitamin A, vitamin D and calcium rich food could keep these problems at bay. With different exercises for joints and back-bone, the problem of decaying could be reduced or even stopped. Exercise makes backbones strong and flexible and reduces chances of bringing defor-

mity in back-bone. Old women doing exercises remain active and energetic. Persons, who control their bones being clamp, remain more active. With regular exercise muscles of back-gone too remain active and flexible. The digestion capacity and other physical activities of elderly women grow weak with age. Thus, they should be extra-cautious in maintaining health and keeping back-bone flexible. If x-ray results shows that their back-bone is growing weak and fragile, they shall use belt to keep it straight. They should use hard bed to sleep, quitting soft quilts and mattress. They should be extra careful in the process of standing from bed or chair. They should walk carefully while doing daily chores as little jolt could cause fracture in the bones. If the hip bone is dislocated or fractured, they should undergo operation immediately. They should not lay more on bed, which could cause boils and ulcers on the back bone. Prohibition in diseases related to muscles and skeletons

The present generation is more prosperous but when the situation is being viewed integrally, a human being is more worried, in tension and becoming patient fast. The main cause behind it is the increasing competition in the world. Person is not using gifts provided by the nature but exploiting it badly. The change in the living system, bad food habits and increasing pollution are the main reasons behind it. Likewise more use of chemical fertilizers, processed chemical food and more use of medicines are also the real causes. As a result, a person is suffering from mental and physical diseases. More the medical science is progressing, more persons are being trapped by newer diseases. The 21st century is also known as century of science. Various ultramodern ways have been discovered to cure various ailments. But still integral health for all the people of the world is impossible task. In these circumstances, people of the world are now making opinion that only yoga and ayurveda could handle the problem effectively. Many people, who consider yoga as philosophy, are also surprised in view of its benefits on the serious patients and now building opinion that without ayurveda and yoga, it is not possible to fight deadly diseases. Despite acceptance, recognition and popularity of yoga, still it is not integrally used due to lack of knowledge. Before knowing about Ashtang yoga, general and common knowledge of yoga is mandatory. Thus yoga is very beneficial for the human body.

When bones start growing weak, a person should use belt with the advice of doctor, to straighten back-bone. Such person should quit using mattress and quilts and sleep on hard base.

Yoga guru began second phase of Bharat Swabhiman from Jhansi

Revolution next year

- Swami Ramdev
Yatra begins from Jhansi and to take break in Farrukhabad
Jhansi. Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev has said that the people of the nation are ready to teach lesson to the corrupt leaders of the nation. In 2012, there would be public revolution with youths at the helm. Baba Ramdev was addressing huge gathering at Jhansi, the land of martyr Rani Laxmi Bai, while beginning second phase of Bharat Swabhiman Yatra. He also gave message to work for corruption and disease free nation with the help of yoga education. While addressing unprecedented crowd at Laxmi Vyayam mandir ground, Baba Ramdev called upon uprooting corruption. He also gave replies to the questions of the journalists. He said that many people are alleging that Baba Ramdev has, to hide his sins, embarked on Swabhiman yatra. But if giving yoga education, saving peoples life, launching anti-intoxication drive, educate people from the evils of multi-nationals and to raise concern against corruption is sin then, he has committed this sin. Amidst uproarious clapping yoga guru replied the accusations made on him and said that he does not need certificates from the people, neck-dipped in corruption. He clarified that Acharya Balkrishna has been falsely implicated in Passport case. He said that over 60-70 lakh Indians live in Nepal and over one crore Nepali origin people are citizens of India. On the occasion, Acharya Balkrishna was also present. While describing his agitation against black money, he

said that people have demonstrated their protest and hence, its result would be favorable and the people, sitting in Parliament would have to bring change in themselves and the process for the same has been started. He said that many diseases are genetic and likewise, corruption is also a genetic disease. People with corruption mind can not have self-respect.

- Swami Ramdev
Mahoba. Baba Ramdev said that my conduct is spotless but still politicians have hurled many adjectives against me. But I am not disturbed and working tirelessly for the sake of the nation and these efforts would continue till black money is not brought back and corruption is uprooted. He said that the system needs to be changed integrally. It is a matter of shame as the Switzerlands Ambassador has disclosed that India has not demanded for any information related to persons, who have deposited black money. He said that the Government is not serious and sensitive to bring black money back to India. Baba Ramdev was talking to the media, on the first day of the two-day Yoga camp, held at Dak Bangla ground in Mahoba. He said that the political system of the nation is busy in spreading rumors and wrong information, related to him. He said that the union Home ministry has deployed intelligence officers behind nationalistic people to gather their secrets and hatch conspiracies. He said that the basic duty of intelligence is to collect secrets, related to the ongoing sabotage activities against the integrity of the nation by some elements but they are chasing patriot people. He said that both, he and Anna Hazare have the common mission against corruption and there is no feeling of competition. Baba Ramdev said that his mission is for economic freedom to total revolution. He said that to make India a super power, Rs 400 lakh crore, deposited in foreign banks should be brought back besides, uprooting of corruption, and imparting economic and social justice on the principles of social freedom. He asked to withdraw all taxes and implement just fix transaction tax to bring black money back and give economic and social justice. While speaking on inflation, system change, he said that the Government is not serious to check inflation but promoting price rise by hiking petrol and diesel prices. He also underlined the need of election reforms. He said that with state funding, mandatory voting and direct election to the Prime Minister would help in improving election system and only eligible people would reach Assemblies and the Parliament.

Get united or traitors would harm the nation Acharya Balkrishna

Jhansi. Guests from the dais gave fiery speeches and urged the people to save the nation from the clutches of antinational elements. The trusted lieutenant of Baba Ramdev, Acharya Balkrishna, with all dignity, echoed his sentiments to die for the cause of the nation. Acharya Balkrishna began his speech with the objective of the mission being launched by Baba Ramdev. He said that corrupt elements have taken away precious wealth of the country but now, they would not allow it to happen. He said that insult, defamation are small things to mention and even if, his life is sacrificed for the sake of the nation, he would not back-step in the interest of the nation. While reminding agitations of Mahatma Gandhi and Jaiprakash Narayan, he called on the countrymen to get united or else the traitors would harm the nation more.

Love in heart needed Kalbe Sadiq

Jhansi. From the dais of Baba Ramdev, Muslim spiritual leader Kalbe Sadiq gave a well balanced speech. In his calculated words, he called upon the people to win hearts of each other with love and exhorted countrymen to live with self-respect and dignity. He started his speech with a couplet. He said that some people get well on seeing Baba Ramdev and some others get ill. He said that being a good person alone is not life but to cure people is the life and Baba Ramdev is doing the same thing. He said that he does not expect people quit telling lies but it would be a big thing, if they feel ashamed after telling lie.
