Key Roles of Associate Psychologists Associate Psychologists support students with special educational needs in mainstream schools by: developing and reviewing policies, programmes and resources through research work providing adequate systems consultation and training to schools to build their capacity to support students with special educational needs providing adequate support to schools for psychological assessment and advice on pupils building a knowledge base related to special educational needs through research to inform policies and reviews.

Professional Development & Opportunities of Psychologists in MOE Complete 2 years part-time Diploma in Educational Psychology at NIE Demonstrate professional mastery by attaining accreditation in the Certificate of Competence in Educational Testing (CCET) and demonstrate professional competency that commensurate with local accreditation benchmarks (registered psychologist with the Singapore Psychological Society) Attend local and overseas conferences and attachments

After practicing as an Associate Psychologist for a few years, you may consider a profession as an Educational Psychologist where you will: Attain Post-graduate professional training (e.g. Masters or Doctorate courses) in Educational/ School/ Applied Psychology and have clinical supervision as part of the requirements for chartered/ registered status Demonstrate professional competency that commensurate with national or international accredited professional bodies (e.g. Singapore Psychological Society, Australian Psychological Society, British Psychological Society, etc.) Attend local and overseas conferences, attachments and present papers

Entry Requirements Associate Psychologists Basic degree in Psychology with good honours Teaching qualifications Postgraduate Diploma in Education(PGDE)

Associate Psychologists who have a strong passion in educational psychology are encouraged to develop their expertise and pursue a postgraduate degree in Educational Psychology/Applied Psychology to serve at a higher capacity as Educational Psychologists at MOE HQ
