LIFE HISTORY

BORN INTO A KANNADA FAMILY IN MYSORE ON 20 AUGUST 1946. DONE B.E. FROM UNIVERSITY OF MYSORE IN 1967 AND THEN M.Tech FROM I.I.T KANPUR,WORKED AT I.I.M AHMEDABAD AS A RESEARCHER. IN 1978 HE WAS HIRED AS THE GENERAL MANAGER AT PATNI COMPUTERS. IN 1981 FOUNDED INFOSYS TECHNLOGIES BY THE HELP OF 7 MEMBERS.

He with his 6 Members started Infosys in 1981, they were seven people, and they put together about USD250 at current exchange rates. They were short of money, but they were very long on hope.

This down-to-earth man had to mortgage his wife Sudha's jewelry for Rs. 10,000 to put some funds in the company.
From 1981 to 1991 ,very tough period for infosys,in 1991 LPG policy rapids growth. IN 1999 . Murthy dream completed , Infosys (first indian company to be listed in NASDAQ )

Today, Infosys is acknowledged by customers, employees, investors and the general public as a highly respected.

Murthy retired on 20 August 2006 however currently the non-executive Chairman and Chief Mentor of Infosys.
