Proposal for Team Building Programme

Programme Focus The team building is based on optimising mind power using radiant thinking through fun filled indoor and outdoor activities. Individual team members will learn to work together as a team, utilizing available resources and focusing on achieving their shared goals. Training Modules
# 1 Task / Challenge Introduction Have you ever Game Members gather in a circle and whoever is last goes to the centre and have to ask the Have you ever question in order to get the members to move out of their box. Team Chant and Team Flag Participants will be instructed to choose their own team name to prepare a team flag and chant, which will be presented throughout the session.

Ice Breakers 1. Speedy Challenge Teams will have to pass a ball to all members only once, as fast as possible 2. Spelling Bee Teams to spell out a word as fast as possible using giant alphabets 3. Blind leading the blind Team members will be blindfolded and asked to perform a task as fast as possible 4. Chain Reaction Team members to wriggle through the rope to all members without breaking the chain. Teams will compete with each other to earn as much points. All the challenges above are indoor-based and to test the teams on their communication and teamwork skills.

Dominoes To synergies, synchronize and harmonize in a working environment. It is a motivational and inspiring reminder about teamwork. Outdoor / Beach Challenge Team members must work together in a group to clear all the obstacles safely in a shortest timeframe. Night Compass March Groups will follow a set of trail to various destinations based on only the torch light for directions. Bridge Over Trouble Water This puzzle needs mental and physical strength to plan and complete the task.

Interactive Management Development (IMD) 5 physical challenges to complete in 1 hour: 1. Bull Ring 2. Number Punch 3. Royale on board 4. Coconut Bowling 5. Tangram Each team has only 1 hour to complete the challenges else they will be disqualified. Each challenge has an investment cost and teams that complete the task will earn the profit points and the investment cost will be returned to them. This game is divided to 2 segments. The 1st segment will see teams competing against each other. However, at the 2nd segment, teams are made to realise that they can triple fold their profits if they work as ONE team.

Clap & Cut Participants are given a task with a goal to achieve based on limited resources. The achievement of the whole team is dependent on each participants performance and accomplishment. F1 Relay Challenge - Go Kart Participants are given a task with a goal to achieve based on limited resources. The achievement of the whole team is dependent on each participants performance and accomplishment. This mission will test leadership, observation, communications, self confidence and team work.

10 Focus Your Objectives - Archery Each individual will be put upon a task where mind focus and concentration will be tested. Here, the individual will need his/her own sense and decision to execute the task. The motivational and support level and qualities of the other team members will be tested here. 11 Paintball Team members must work together in a group to clear all the obstacles safely in a shortest timeframe. This mission will test leadership, observation, communications, self confidence and team work.

12 X-Treme Race Participants are given a task with a goal to achieve based on limited resources. The achievement of the whole team is dependent on each participants performance and accomplishment. This mission will test leadership, observation, communications, self confidence and team work. 13 Obstacles Team members must work together in a group to clear all the obstacles safely in a shortest timeframe. 14 Rafting The objective is to build a raft with bamboo and drums and be able to sail in the sea to retrieve a flag that is placed in the middle of the sea. This mission will require and instill team work, time management, communication, planning and leadership skills and qualities. 15 Walk Hunt A fun activity to test the participants time management, creative thinking and stretching to the limits. Teams will be tested on general and trivial knowledge as well as their observation skills as they take a leisurely walk to get the answers to the clues. 16 Amazing Race Challenge Team member will race to break and complete a task/puzzle/mission to pass the baton to the next team member to complete the cycle.

Facilitator / Trainer Biodata

Shirley Hoe
Shirley Hoe holds a Masters of Science degree in Technology Management from the University of Staffordshire, UK. She is also a certified Microsoft Trainer (MCT) and Systems Engineer (MCSE) for the past 7 years. Most of her 14 years working experience are both comprehensive and varied, particularly in the training and IT industry specializing in networking, security and audit compliance, field services, call centre and also in problem and change management. Currently she is attached to a multi-national company, managing the IT Operations and the Quality Management teams in the company. She has designed the Operator's training system, quality manuals and taught the Supervisory Development Program, Seven QC Tools, Lean Six Sigma and Time Management. She is an accredited trainer for the following; Microsoft applications IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) at all levels Digital Workflow, a request management, tracking and project management application Behavioral Interview Techniques training programme

She has an engaging character and charismatic personality, coupled with superb communication and planning skills. Being a natural speaker and communicator that she is, Shirley continues to practice training and consulting in management and human development, particularly in areas related to TQM, IT Audit and general quality improvement. She is also very intensively involved in process improvement and deployment especially in problem and change management and constantly coming up with best practice methods for service support and service delivery. She has been instrumental in coaching hiring managers in conducting screening and full-blown interviews through the training and personal coaching. Course participants have found her participative and interactive delivery and approach to instruction, very interesting and effective. This has been reflective in every end-of-course evaluation. She is also constantly sought after speaker in motivation for voluntary organisations and youth development programs. She has provided voluntary services as speaker and team leader for the World Youth Day 2006 in Germany and will be serving in the World Youth Day in Sydney this year.

Facilitator / Trainer Biodata

Rajj Melambaran
Rajj holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Business Information System from the University of Hertfordshire, UK. He has over 10 years working experience in the Technology industry, human development, project management, capacity planning and research and development Currently he is attached to a multi-national company in Cyberjaya and is very extensively involved in project management and capacity planning. He is also leading the Service Delivery effort to support business partners to understand, influence improvements and optimize organizational performance through individual, group and organizational development. He is also responsible for diagnosis of organizational needs, presentation and implementation of Service Excellence programs in support of business strategies and to ensure policies and practices are well implemented in order to promote staff retention and client satisfaction. He is expected to role model values and assists in the development of an effective Service Excellence organization in his company. He is also the President for an NGO which focuses on community and education development. He has conducted several motivational courses for students and parents to motivate and instill the importance of education to succeed in life. He has an extensive and deep understanding of Outdoor/Adventure Education. He also has conducted numerous Outdoor / Adventure based Development Programs for various level of staff from various organization. He is a practical trainer who ensures participants learn key values that are relevant to the needs of their organisation and his presentation is designed to bring about change in attitudes and skill. Being a natural speaker and communicator that he is, Rajj continues to practice training and consulting in project management and human development, particularly in areas related to TQM and general quality improvement. He is also constantly sought after speaker in motivation for voluntary organisations and youth development programs, for which he is regarded as a role model. He is well regarded in his professional circle for his direct and pragmatic approaches in intelligent discussions. Rajj was part of the organisation which organised the most successful Kuala Lumpur Commonwealth Games 1998. He trained and led a team of 20 who planned, designed and executed the communication, product knowledge and cultural development for the athletes, officials and delegates from 61 countries. He possess a wide knowledge and exposure in different cultural communications and human development. Regularly pursuing his own self development, Rajj is highly motivational with excellent interpersonal skill and very strong leadership qualities. A highly logical and analytical mind enables him to confidently and competently teach and take the necessary holistic approach when addressing underlying issues in problem solving and decisionmaking situations.

Facilitator / Trainer Biodata

Capt. ( Rtd ) A. Asohan
Capt (Rtd) A. Asohan holds a Post Graduate Diploma Studies in Industrial Safety Management at University Kebangsaan Malaysia, Higher National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Armament) from RAF College Cranwell and NIOSH Certificate from National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health. He is also a registered Safety and Health Officer with the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH). He has served the Royal Malaysian Air Force for 13 years as an Engineering Officer specializing in armaments, explosives, support vehicles and equipments and artillery. He also looked into aspects of operations, training, administrations, welfare, safety and fire safety of the servicemen. Prior to this, he was a teacher in a primary school in Malacca for a term of 2 years. During his tenure he facilitated in preparing modules for outdoor curriculum teaching, conducted courses for English Language, helped counselled teachers facing difficulties in the teaching and learning of English. His task in this aspect involved upgrading the teachers proficiency, instilling self-confidence and exposing them to a suitable approach when handling their students. After leaving the service, he joined several safety consultancy companies over a period of 17 years, namely Matan Maju Fireworks Sdn Bhd, Dragages et Trauvax Publics KLCC, Saipem Peremba JV and currently is attached to MMC Engineering & Construction Sdn Bhd as a Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Manager for the past 12 years. He has in total over 27 years of working experience in line management, supervisory and managerial position. During his tenure of duty with the above companies he has acquired valuable leadership and management skills, knowledge and experience in the area of Health, Safety and Environment , Maintenance, Quality and Production Management. He has conducted OSH Training for more than 1000 personnels at various levels. He is a key contributor to the development of OSH Committee and Management System and is a competent safety auditor. He has designed OSH Manuals & Procedures, Good Housekeeping Practices and ERP Planning for many companies and factories. He also liaises with government agencies such as DOSH, DOE, BOMBA, LPTA, MKJR and MOH and is actively involved in organizing OSH promotional programs such as OSH Awareness Campaign, Road Safety Campaigns and OSH Competitions. He is also a member of: National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health - NIOSH Institute of American Heart Association - AHA Malaysian Society for Occupational Safety and Health MSOSH Provisional Auditor for the OSH Management Systems QACAS Australia Accredited trainer for Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) and DOSH for the Safety Induction for Construction Worker Training
