Installation of GPIB-USB-HS Interface for HSM

Driver Version: 2.5 ff. Supported OS: Windows 2000, Windows XP Professional

The GPIB-USB-HS is a new Interface device which is an interesting alternative to the commonly used PCI-GPIB board. This device can be used also on Laptop configurations and is quickly changed to a different PC system if needed!

If a previous 488.2 driver lower than version 2.0 is installed, this has to be removed prior to this installation (> control > software > )

Insert CD: NI-488.2 FOR WINDOWS, Version 2.5 this will start Autorun.exe

Click on Install NI-488.2

Confirm installation path as preset Deselect GPIB Analyzer and Language Support (not needed)

Wait until setup procedure will be finished

End with button Finish and choose Restart After Restart close this information window:

Connect the GPIB-USB-HS unit to USB - this will install the driver automatically without prompt after few seconds.

Run Measurement & Automation Explorer and open tree for the new interface The properties of board will be shown Change parameter values as shown:

Close Measurement & Automation Explorer and confirm saving

Run GpibConf.exe in program folder (e.g. C:\Programs\National Instruments\NI-488.2\Bin) Double click on Device Name DEV1 to edit the name and change parameters as shown:

HPLC Unit D-7000 *) L-7450 L-7455

Device Name D7000-00 L7450-00 L7455-00

GPIB Address 15 9 7

*) for Multi-HSM configurations refer to the D-7000 manual Close Configuration with OK button. All changes are updated in driver immediately no reboot is needed.

Remarks: If OS was newly installed, a group named Everyone must be present for proper function of HSM Software it is not possible to create new Applications if this group is missing! At english Windows OS this group is common if another language version is used, this group has to be added and linked to the equivalent group (e.g. Jeder in german OS)

If EZChrom Elite will be used as CDS, above configuration of the driver is not necessary!
