Study Tips from New CAPMs Caevet: Not everyone will have the same set of exam questions.

1. Fill out the 5x9x42 everyday and sometimes twice a day then thinking about what all the processes do and mean really helped the information to sink in. Al so the eSim was extremely helpful as it put me in the exam mode situation, deali ng with the time constraint and the switching of processes and knowledge areas. 2. In fact you should sketch it out on your scrap paper before you start the exam memory dump with any formulas. 7. Almost 50% of questions are 5x9x42 or ITTO questions. You must know your I TTOS especially tools & techniques. I suggest you memorize the Key ITTOs, but kn ow the others, as well. 8. Earned Value -calculate CS, SV, SPI, CPI. 9. There may be several questions on Activity Sequencing. A couple around wor king out the CPM and some on definitions (i.e. the Critical Path is:) 10. Know everything about closing a project and contracts as well. 11. Difference between types of charts and what they are used for histogram, f low chart, control chart, cause & effect diagram 12. Exploiting a positive risk. 13. SWOT analysis. 14. What is a Bill of Materials BOM. 15. Concept of Rolling Wave planning 16. Not so mucharound contract types. 17. Difference between a project and an operation;between product scope and pr oject scope. 18. Nothing on PERT calculation. 19. Change control as a concept of good project management practice. 20. Questions may put you in the position of Project Manager or ask what you t hink the PM should do next. 21. No standard deviation questions.
