Upcoming Events
The PR team is gearing up for summer events! If youve been itching for a place to volunteer, heres your chance. May 22 - Washington, PA. The new commander of the 911th AW, Col. Craig Peters, will throw out the first pitch at the Washington Wild Things home opener, May 22 at 6:45. There will be many other activities before the game begins such as, a C-130 flyover; a Humvee static display; a 911th Recruiting booth; as well as a mass enlistment ceremony on field with Col. Peters swearing in the newest recruits. Wear your Save the 911th t-shirts to the game! For military, tickets are $7. Regular tickets are $10. May 28, Memorial Day - There's plenty of events going on across Pittsburgh in different neighborhoods, a good opportunity to wear your Save the 911th t-shirts or hand out our MAC business cards and fliers. If you have a Memorial Day event that you'll be attending, let us know so we can put it on our calendar. Soldiers & Sailors will be host its annual Memorial Day Celebration from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Monday, May 28, 2012. This free event is open to the public and aimed at remembering the men and women who proudly serve or have served in our country's armed forces. Lawrenceville Memorial Day Parade - Honor local military heroes with this annual parade, starting at 40th and Butler Streets. So many events, so little space to mention them all. Talking Points
Point # 7911th AW Land and Joint Use Agreements with Allegheny County Airport Authority Provide Significant Cost Savings to the Air Force and Optimize Military Efficiencies Here.
1. For the bargain basement price of $20,000, the entire fee paid annually by the Air Force, the 911th can use: a. Runway/Taxiway use and maintenance b. Fire Department Crash, Rescue and Structural response. c. 24-hour Control Tower operations d. Customs and Border protection e. Emergency medical response f. Use of the over 100 acres of land to house the base

Bottom line: At least $10 million of taxpayers money would be save annually by keeping the 911th Airlift Wing intact, optimizing cost efficiencies, and closing any other base instead.

Memorial Day is May 28. Take a moment, maybe in between the parade you take your family to and the dinner youve just made on the grill, to think about the sacrifices that have been made for you and I, to protect our way of life.
