An argument is a group of statements, one or more of which support or provide evidence for another (the conclusion) an argument, by definition, is aimed at the goal of demom'trating the truth or falsity of a particular claim, by presenting evidence that may convince the hearer or reader to accept it. If the premises of an argument are adequate to establish the conclusion, we are logically required to accept it, or we should at least suspend judgment about it.
