Outcomes in line with AGQTP outcomes


[ ] Developing teachers and school leaders skills in technology to enhance the teaching of mathematics in the classroom [ ] Equipping teachers with technical skills to assist students in meeting basic math standards and improving levels of mathematical understanding in the early years , specifically P-2 at St Josephs. [ ] Support for the implementation of the Australian Maths Curriculum in the early years P-2.

G Norris for Fish Thinking Strategy Measuring Improvement 1. Improved range of choice of technology for effective student engagement of learning in mathematics 2. Measured improvement of instructional delivery of teachers through the use of technology IWB/IPADS/Ipods/Smart Response Measuring Data 1. Surveys (2) Beginning and end of project 2. Teachers improved range of choice of technology for the effective engagement of learning in mathematics. 2. Measured improvement (teacher interviews at beginning and end of project) of mathematical instructional delivery through the use of Ipads, Smart Response, Ipods and IWBs

3. Increase in frequency of usage of technology in the classroom 4. Teacher enjoyment of and confidence in the use of digital technology to enhance student learning in mathematics. After discussion with teachers at the beginning of the project in term 2, the following areas of immediate in-service delivery were identified. 1. Problem solving strategies for students, namely The Fish Strategy. Immediate inservice. 2. Initial in-service with Ipads and instructional potential as teachers have identified a need to further investigate the processes of purchasing their own personal Ipad. 3. In-service of all teachers with Smart Response technology delivered as a whole staff inservice.

Measured Outcomes from the Project 1. An increase of usage of targeted technology within the Maths Classroom Smart Response, IPads, Ipods 2. Teachers increase in confidence and satisfaction with using ipads, ipods, technology in maths rotations. 3. Teachers engaging with online technologies for reflection and sharing of information eg Use of a weebly site. 4. Teachers engaging students in Smart response technology as an assessment tool in the maths classroom.
