Leucophor BMB 2000 Powder

Leucophor BMB 2000 Powder

Universally applicable fluorescent brightener for cellulosic fibres and particularly suitable for application on the padding machine in the continuous bleaching process and finishing liquors

Leucophor BMB 2000 is a fluorescent brightener for cellulosic fibres and their blends with synthetic fibres. Leucophor BMB 2000 produces brilliant whitening effects with a blue shade and good light and wet fastness properties. Leucophor BMB 2000 is distinguished by its low substantivity, good stability to peroxide and compatibility with the products used in finishing white goods. It is therefore particularly suitable for brightening woven and knitted goods by the padding process, for application in the continuous bleach, in filling and handle finishes, as well as in resin finishes with metal salt catalysts. Leucophor BMB 2000 possesses an excellent levelling power which also facilitates brightening by the exhaust process and in the peroxide bleach on machines where work is carried out with a short liquor ratio.

1) No internationally accepted test method for the light fastness of fluorescent brighteners exists as yet. The method we use is largely in agreement with SVN Standard 195809: Determination of the light fastness of dyeings and prints in artificial (xenon) light, but we assess the fastness by visual examination. Experience has shown that this is a relatively stringent evaluation, but the fastness ratings obtained are not directly comparable with those based on other scales of assessment.

3.

Scope of application
On neutral and regenerated cellulose fibres, Leucophor BMB 2000 produces brilliant whitening effects with a distinctly bluish shade.

3.1

Padding process: Due to its low substantivity and good compatibility with the products usually used in finishing white goods, Leucophor BMB 2000 is perfectly suitable for brightening cellulosic fibres by the padding process and for application in handle and filling finishes as well as the usual synthetic resin finishing liquors with metal salt catalysts. Even in finishing liquors with a high content of catalysts, Leucophor BMB 2000 causes no difficulties with regard to ending and tailing.

3.2

Continuous bleaching process: Due to its good stability in peroxide bleaching liquors, Leucophor BMB 2000 is particularly suitable for application in the continuous peroxide bleach according to the - cold pad batch process - pad roll process - pad steam process

3.3.

Exhaust process: Leucophor BMB 2000 is applied in the exhaust process and in the peroxide bleach particularly where fluorescent brighteners with a higher affinity cause levelling difficulties. Leucophr BMB 2000 is especially suitable for brightening on machines in short liquor ratios (package and beam dyeing machine, jigger). Hard water and the addition of salt greatly increase the build up of Leucophor BMB 2000.
