Waveform frame The parameters in the Waveform frame set the modem parameters used by the Codan STANAG 5066 Stack. NOTE The default settings provide the optimal level of performance for file transfer. Modem tabWaveform parameters
Description Sets the type of waveform that you want the modem to use. Sets the data rate at which the modem initiates communication with the remote node. The data rate that you can select depends upon the selected waveform. NOTE You should set the highest known rate on which communication with the remote node has been successful. This setting is ignored when the Initial Rate Selection Method is set to Use LQA (MIL-STD188-141B option only).
Sets the length of the interleaver used to establish communication. The available options are dependent on the selected waveform and data rate. NOTE The initial interleaver must be set to SHORT if the maximum interleaver is set to SHORT.
48
Description Sets the algorithm that the Codan STANAG 5066 Stack uses to select the initial data rate for communication with another node. Use LQA uses a pre-determined look-up table that defines an initial data rate and interleaver length for given LQA information provided by the transceiver (MIL-STD-188141B option only). Use History uses the data rate and interleaver length from the last successful transmission to a specific remote node, or reverts to the initial rate and interleaver settings if the conditions have deteriorated (MIL-STD-188-141B option only). Manual uses the initial data rate and interleaver length specified above. This setting is recommended if your Codan HF transceiver does not have the MIL-STD-188-141B option installed.
Sets whether or not the stack takes control of changing the data rate and interleaver length according to the channel conditions. NOTE If DRC is disabled, then the stack continues to use the initial data rate.
Sets the maximum length of interleaver permitted for the communication. If you want to optimise chat communication, set SHORT, which provides faster turnaround times. If you want to optimise file transfer, set LONG, which provides optimal performance. The length that you can select depends upon the length set for the initial interleaver. NOTE The maximum interleaver length must be the same on any nodes that want to communicate.
Modem LBT
Sets whether or not the modem listens on a channel to determine if it is vacant before transmitting on the channel.

Symptom
Status of modem on Status tab is Check the physical connections between the Off line. PC, transceiver and the modem. Check the IP address/COM port allocations for the modem and stack. Reset the modem. On the ALE tab, de-select Return to scan. The transceiver starts scanning when I restart the STANAG 5066 Stack, even though the Auto Resume Mode entry in the transceiver is set to None. If you are using an ALE system, check that the Chat text is not delivered to the remote node or file transfers are link between the transceivers has been not successful within the timeout established correctly. period. If you are using a non-ALE system, check that the transceivers are set to the same channel. If channel conditions are poor, it may not be possible to send and receive chat text and file transfers. I send a chat string to a specific node, which it receives, but I do not receive a confirmation even though the transceivers are obviously in an ALE link and communicating. Check that the STANAG address for your node is identical in all instances in HF Express and the Codan STANAG 5066 Stack.
