CLASSROOM EXPERIENCE
Rosewood Elementary School: Jenison, Michigan Spring 2012 Student Teacher Planned and integrated a variety of lessons using differentiated instruction for reading, writing and math for students with disabilities as well as at-risk general education students who were identified using the RTI process, grades 3-4. Coordinated schedules with the general education teachers and actively participated in the referral process, IEP meetings and out-of-school functions. Lakeshore Elementary School: Holland, Michigan Fall 2011 Student Teacher Created and taught engaging lessons for all academic areas aligned with the Michigan Grade Level Content rd Expectations in a 3 grade class. Accommodated different academic levels and learning styles and implemented and created a behavior management system for specific students. Participated in all professional development opportunities and parent-teacher conferences. North Elementary School: Rosebud, South Dakota May 2011 Teachers Aide th Taught both small group and whole class lessons in a diverse 4 grade classroom with at-risk students on an Indian reservation. Bentheim Elementary School: Hamilton, Michigan Spring 2011 Teachers Aide Created and taught lessons in an elementary resource room for students with learning disabilities. Worked separately with a small group (K-1) on one of the big five ideas of reading: phonics. Collaborated with a paraprofessional to provide individualized instruction. Completed a case study that was composed of administering diagnostic assessments that identified areas of weakness and informed my instruction. Lakeshore Elementary School: Holland, Michigan Teachers Aide rd Taught whole-class language arts and science in a 3 grade classroom. R.A.R.A Summer Camp for Students with Special Needs: Rochester, Michigan Counselor Interacted with individuals with a range of disabilities, ages 14 to 18. Provided care for individuals by assisting with feeding and hygiene. Developed a positive relationship with campers. Summer 2011 & 2012

Super Summer Camp: Rochester, Michigan Summer 2009 & 2010 Counselor Organized and implemented safe, engaging activities for children between the ages of 6 to 12. Provided children with interactive activities: story telling, organized arts and crafts, singing, swimming, rock climbing and gym games. Munchkin Soccer Camp: Rochester, Michigan Counselor Coordinated and ran a soccer camp for children between the ages of 3 to 6. Presented a fun and positive environment that built lasting relationships with my campers. VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE
Girls on the Run: Jenison, Michigan Coach Trained girls for a 5K running event while teaching empowering skills for young girls. Lessons focused on teaching health education, life skills development, mentoring relationships and physical training. Camp Sunshine: Holland, Michigan Counselor Interacted with a variety of adults with disabilities and worked one-on-one with a specific camper that required assistance with feeding, clean up, changing and hygiene. Childrens After School Achievement: Holland, Michigan Spring 2010 & 2011 Tutor th Provided one-on-one tutoring for an at-risk 5 grader by assisting with daily assignments and test preparation. Mission Trip: East Palo Alto, California Assisted children in their educational needs while serving in the Bayshore Christian Ministries tutoring programs. Participated in work projects, which included painting, car washing, and planting. March 2010

Delta Phi Sorority January 2008-2012 Held leadership roles o Recording Secretary: developed opening questions meetings, recorded attendance and minutes o Intramurals: scheduled all member participation and actively participated in organizing and administering. Community involvement in Dance Marathon, Relay for Life and Pink Day. Orientation Assistant: Holland, Michigan August 2010 Assisted with new student orientation at Hope College by guiding incoming freshman and their families through the transition into college. Pull Fall 2009 th Participated in the 112 annual Pull at Hope College, which is a long-standing tradition consisting of a three-week intense training process that culminates in a tug of war between the freshman and sophomores. Gained determination, work ethic and collaboration skills with team members.
