Boot desktop machine using WinPE 3.0 CD Plug the USB drive into a machine.

Open a command line window (Start > run > CMD > Enter) Run the command Diskpart Type list disk See what number is assigned to the drive In this case a 32Gb USB disk is being so it is shown as 29Gb and is disk 3

Type select disk {number}

Type clean

Type create partition primary

Type assign letter=g (or any free drive letter)

Type active

Type Exit Type Format g: /fs:ntfs /q/y (where G: is the drive letter you assigned previously)

All the files from the sample USB stick provided may now be copied on to the USB device. To boot a machine using this method place the device in the target machine and power it on. Select F10 to access the boot menu, select USB device and press F5 to enable. Please note that not all USB drives can be made bootable.
