Christian Call and Thomasian Response

The family that prays together, stays together. Filipinos believe that if they pray together as a family, it will create a stronger bond in their relationship and it will not fall apart. The parent-child relationship is very significant to us Filipinos, it is from the families that we draw our self-identity. Through this family-centered characteristic it gives us a sense of belongingness, stability and security.

Filipinos are very Family Oriented when it comes to hearing mass with each other. Filipinos believe that going to church together will bring them closer and connect with each other more spiritually. I agree to this because Church is the only place where in the one day of the week, the whole family is gathered without distractions from one another and from God.

Filipinos have deep rooted belief in the supernatural. We continue praying to the spirits in various activities, especially in faith-healing. Filipino people are likely to believe in the existence of the invisible and the mysterious. Thus, it is easy for us to accept Jesus as miracle-worker.

Majority of the Filipino population is very spirit oriented. They put their faith in God and praise him for the blessings they receive. We often see or hear people praying to God for numerous things, to be given safety throughout the day for example. Filipinos usually believe that it is God's doing when something good comes there way or when they are put out of harms way.
