BREAKING BAD FINALE: WALT DIES Written by Jeff Grant

TEASER FADE IN: A red dot. On a white surface. We aren't sure what this is. The camera holds for a few seconds. Cut to a WIDE SHOT. INT. DOCTOR'S OFFICE - DAY That red dot is on a DOCTOR'S shirt who sits across a desk from Walter White with a solemn look on his face. Walt shows little emotion. He's noticing the dot but doesn't say anything about it. DOCTOR Are you prepared? Yes. WALT

DOCTOR I recommend talking to your family. Spend time with each one. Say everything that needs to be said. There's no easy way to around it. Yes. WALT

DOCTOR We have counselors who can assist you in these conversations. WALT That won't be necessary. DOCTOR I know this has been a long road for you. Walt almost says, "That's an understatement" but holds his tongue. WALT How long do I have? DOCTOR Days. It could be hours. Walt, this is the end.

2. WALT I understand. DOCTOR Are you prepared? WALT (with assurance) I'm prepared. CLOSE UP again on the red dot. Is it blood? Is it ketchup? A year ago Walt would've pointed it out. But Walt's changed. TITLE SEQUENCE

3. ACT 1 INT. WALT'S AZTEK - 15 MINUTES LATER Walt drives silently. He couldn't be deeper in thought. Barely used, sub cranium gears are cranking in his head. We aren't sure what he's planning but he seems very aware of his intentions. This whole episode, Walt's health is failing and failing. He's a frail man who will lose mobility very soon. He shouldn't be driving but we all know how stubborn he is. His demeanor isn't too different from the wheelchair-bound Hector, who was paralysed and mute but still had a fiery anger in him. Walt's body is dying but his spirit is alive and well. He has a purpose about him. A hobbling purpose. INT. JESSE'S HOUSE - BEDROOM - MOMENTS LATER Jesse is dead asleep and it's pushing the afternoon. He lays in bed alone. There's a knock on his front door. INT. JESSE'S HOUSE - LIVING ROOM - JUST THEN Jesse descends the stairs in a robe he just threw on. He rubs his eyes, not enjoying being shaken awake like this. There's another knock as he nears the door. JESSE (tired) Coming! Jesus.. He opens the door and Walt stands there. He's pale and the way he looks snaps Jesse out of his stupor. JESSE (CONTD) Mr. White. You okay? WALT We need to talk. JESSE Yeah yeah, right on.

4. He stands aside as Walt waddles in. JESSE (CONTD) Hey, you want a herbal tea or something? You don't look too good. Walt just stares at him like he's an idiot and throws himself on the couch. JESSE (CONTD) This isn't. This isn't anything to do with -Walt doesn't want to have this conversation. But he has to. WALT Jesse, listen to me. It's.. Look. This is it. The lung cancer.. JESSE Are you gonna.. How long do you think you have? WALT The doctor says a week tops. This knocks Jesse back a few steps. He has questions. His emotions are coming up too. JESSE Oh, Mr White, I'm so.. I'm sorry to hear that. I'm so sorry. Have you talked to your family and stuff? WALT No. Not yet. JESSE You need to talk to 'em. WALT I know. I will. I came here first. JESSE Why did you do that Mr. White? WALT Well, you deserve to know. Okay. JESSE

5. WALT And I thought we should go over some things before.. JESSE Yeah, okay. Yeah. Composing himself. Jesse grabs a pen and paper from a side table. They sit staring at each other for a beat. JESSE (CONTD) What do we need to go over? WALT Well, I'm going to talk to Saul soon about business. Okay. JESSE

WALT You can come to that too, of course. Alright. JESSE

WALT I don't know. I wanted to try to.. Clear things up.. Just make sure everything is square. Okay..? JESSE

WALT Jesse, we've been through a lot. We've seen a lot. JESSE Mr. White, you don't have to beat around the bush. Especially now. What are you trying to tell me? WALT Jesse, I think of you like a son. You've become like a son to me. I have a son but you're.. JESSE ..Like another one. Yeah. Thanks, Mr. White. What is it?

6. WALT I don't want to leave you open ended. I want to wrap up this partnership the right way. It's what you deserve, after all. Jesse leans back, giving Walt the floor. JESSE I'm all ears. WALT Jesse, this last year, has been different. Not everything has gone exactly according to plan. There are things I wish I could take back. Bumps in the road. JESSE That's everybody. Walt leans back, rethinking if he wants to say anything. JESSE (CONTD) Just say it, Mr. White. WALT (diving in) Jesse, I was there the night Jane died. Jesse leans in immediately. JESSE You were where? What do you mean? WALT I was in your house. I was in your bedroom. This is crazy news for Jesse to hear. It isn't quite computing. JESSE What are you talking about? WALT (backing up) You and Jane were passed out. I'd called your phone several times but you never answered. I came over to talk with you.

7. JESSE About what? WALT I don't remember. I think we'd had a fight. But anyway, I came to your house and knocked and you didn't answer. And I was concerned so I went around to the back door and it was smashed in and I could see you both laying on the bed. JESSE Seriously? Could you tell if.. Was Jane still.. She was asleep. thought knew it WALT breathing. You were both I opened the door. I I could talk to you but, I was a bad time, obviously.

JESSE Mr. White, that's.. that's kinda creepy.. But it's also sorta.. I don't know, comforting, I guess. Walt nods. JESSE (CONTD) Why didn't you tell me this before? I mean, it's weird, but it's not that weird. Walt stares at Jesse. WALT Jesse, when I said I was there when Jane died I meant it. I was in the room. In that moment. JESSE How do you know that? She overdosed. WALT No. That's not what happened. JESSE What the hell are you talking about?

8. WALT The heroin you were both on had caused her to.. Regurgitate. JESSE You mean, throw up? Like puke? WALT Like puke. She was puking. In her sleep. JESSE But that's not possible. She.. I remember she always turned her head to the side. She put a pillow at her back so she wouldn't roll over. Remembering this detail hits Jesse with new emotion. WALT Well, I don't know about the pillow. She was laying on her back when the puking started. JESSE And you were there? WALT I was right there in the room. JESSE But you could've rolled her over, Mr. White. You could've.. saved her.. Walt is silent for a few seconds. He really doesn't want to have this conversation. WALT Jesse, she was. She was a bad influence. JESSE (rising shock) A bad influence? Mr. White, what are you saying? WALT She was an addict. She was taking you down with her. JESSE Mr. White.. What did you do?

9. WALT (colder than cold) Nothing. I did nothing. I watched her choke on her own vomit. Jesse jumps up from the couch and covers his face. He is filled with -- with something, some overwhelming feeling. He's confused if this is anger or -JESSE Just. You need to go right now. WALT Now's the time to talk about this, Jesse. JESSE No. No. You have to go. I need you to leave. WALT I know you probably hate me. I understand. JESSE WALT!! Get out of my house! WALT There's more! Get out!! JESSE

Walt gets the message and walks out. Jesse crumbles on the floor. The one thing he needs right now is time to process all of this but that's the one thing he doesn't have. He takes a moment or 2 to calm down. Then he stands and walks back up the stairs towards his bedroom. INT. JESSE'S HOUSE - UPSTAIRS HALLWAY - RIGHT THEN Jesse gets to the top of the stairs and reaches the door to his bedroom and he's about to go in before he stops. He turns and crosses the hallway to the opposite doorway. This is his guest room.

10. INT. JESSE'S HOUSE - GUEST ROOM This is a room we haven't seen before. It's packed out with junk from Jesse's life. Old pictures, comics, toys, a Polaroid, a video camera, an old TV and VCR. And over in a corner is what looks like a box covered with a black blanket. Jesse surveys the room, crosses over to the blanket and yanks it off. It's a crate filled with blue meth. Jesse stares at it. This can't be good. INT. WALT'S AZTEK - MOMENTS LATER Walt is driving alone through town, still deep in thought. Maybe telling Jesse about Jane was a bad idea. Oh well, what does it matter at this point? He'll be dead in a few days. It's a relieving thought. We look out the window and it's a pitch perfect day in Albuquerque. Wide Michael Slovis shots, taking in the beauty. And so is Walt. He loves this city. It's hitting him that this is one of the last times he'll drive through the town. He looks around and no one is thinking about how they're going to die. No one. Kids walk on the street. A driver honks his horn at another. Life goes on. He and Jesse's problems are insignificant. The problems of a couple methamphetamine dealers amount to a hill of beans in this crazy, mixed up world. A sad song plays on the soundtrack. Walt's feeling tired. It must all be kicking in. The cancer. Click. Something enters his mind. An epiphany. He makes an abrupt right turn into -EXT. LOWE'S PARKING LOT - RIGHT THEN A Lowe's parking lot.

11. Walt pulls in and parks. INT. LOWE'S - CHEMICALS SECTION - 2 MINUTES LATER Walt pushes his cart through the aisles. He's on a mission. A SALES CLERK approaches. SALES CLERK Need help finding anything, sir? WALT (immediately)

No.

He keeps walking. INT. LOWE'S - CHECK OUT - 3 MINUTES LATER Walt is checking out. We can't yet see what he's buying. Another CLERK is ringing him up. CLERK 2 So, you going to let us know what this is all for? WALT It's for a building project. The clerk stares at him suspiciously. Walt flashes a Mr. Rogers smile. WALT (CONTD) It's okay. I'm a scientist. INT. WALT'S AZTEK - TRUNK - 1 MINUTE LATER Pulp Fiction inside-the-trunk shot. The trunk opens and there's Walt with his shopping cart. It's filled with bottles and bottles of something. He starts putting it all in. Close up on one of the labels. It's Hydrofluoric Acid. He just keeps loading them in. An almost comical amount. What is going on here?

12. ACT 2 INT. WHITE HOUSE - LIVING ROOM - DAY Skyler sits at the table feeding Baby Holly (from a bottle). The door opens and Walt walks in. Hey. Hello. SKYLER WALT

Walt grabs the back of one of the dining room chairs to sit down. SKYLER Hey, do you mind running the trash out? The guy comes today and it's overflowing. WALT Yes. Of course. Walt just stands there staring at his wife and daughter. He pulls the chair out and sits down. SKYLER I don't mean to be pushy but I'm serious. That trash is crazy full and if we don't get it out right now it's going to just sit there all week and -WALT I'll get it. I just... SKYLER intuitively Are you okay? A beat. Well.. WALT

SKYLER Did you have your appointment? I did. WALT

13. SKYLER

And... Walt is quiet.

SKYLER (CONTD) Walt, what did the doctor say? WALT (grudgingly) It's time, Skyler. Skyler puts her hands over her mouth and starts to cry immediately. She sets Holly in her high chair, walks over and throws her arms around Walt. Oh Walt.. Skyler. Oh Walt.. SKYLER WALT SKYLER

WALT Skyler, listen to me. She's jolted out of the moment. She stares at him. WALT (CONTD) Skyler, how much money do we have saved? SKYLER I.. I don't know. I'd have to go count it. WALT Well, I'm due another payment at the end of the week. I'll talk to Saul. He can get it to you. SKYLER (tearing up) Walt, why are we talking about this right now? WALT I'm going to be dead. In days. If I don't tell you this now you'll never know.

14. SKYLER Walt. No. We aren't going to talk about money right now. Not right now. WALT Skyler, it's what I've been working for all this time.. No. SKYLER

WALT It's the reason for everything. For all of this. SKYLER No. Don't say that. They're both silent for a moment. It's true. WALT

SKYLER It's not true, Walt. It's what you've told yourself but it's not true. Walt is getting offended. SKYLER (CONTD) Walt, you don't have much time left. I don't either. This shuts him up. SKYLER (CONTD) I know you think all of these choices have been 'for the family' but I know that's bull shit. It's your excuse to live this GREAT, DANGEROUSE life. We. Walter Jr. Holly. Me. WE'RE your excuses. You need to know that. Walt sits quietly, taking in what she's saying. WALT (to himself) You're right. You're right, Skyler. This shuts her up.

15. WALT (CONTD) I've used you. All 3 of you. For my own selfish gain. And I'm dying. And I'm leaving you millions. And I'm just a sad, selfish bastard. A beat. SKYLER Pretty much. They stand there staring at each other. WALT Well, as long as we're on the same page. SKYLER I'll call Marie. We need to tell the family. INT. SAUL'S OFFICE - DAY Jesse sits across from Saul. SAUL (chipper) So how's my 2nd favorite meth dealer doing? You'll excuse me. Your partner is a dream come true. But you're no.. Shattered glass. That's 'chopped liver' in Methanese. JESSE Not now, dammit. SAUL Fine. What is it now, Mr. Sad Sack? JESSE Your dream come true just dropped a major bomb on me. Several. Several bombs. SAUL Well, some bombs are better than others, if you catch my drift. JESSE Yeah. No, he told me something.

16. SAUL And what was that? JESSE He said he..he.. killed my girl. SAUL Which one, Romeo? Asshole! JESSE

SAUL Slow down. Slow down. Get a hold of yourself. JESSE Look, I don't know if you heard but dude is about to expire. His cancer.. SAUL No, I have not been made privy to that information. (to himself) No one calls me anymore. JESSE Well, he's trying to clean his slate or whatever. And he just told me that. SAUL Is that all he told you? JESSE What? What's that supposed to mean? SAUL Oh. Nothing. What? JESSE

SAUL You already know how he poisoned that kid, right? What?! Guess not. JESSE SAUL

17. JESSE What the hell are you talking about, man? SAUL I can't BELIEVE you don't know this. Jesse glares at Saul. SAUL (CONTD) Brock. That kid you like. JESSE No. No that's wrong. Brock didn't have ricin in him. It was some plant. SAUL That sounds right. It was a plant he found in his backyard. Walter. Jesse throws himself back in his chair, his hands over his face. Stands. JESSE Okay. I'm turning his ass in. Right now! Jesse walks to the door. Saul follows and grabs his arm. SAUL Kid. Kid, you're not thinking clearly. Suck it! JESSE

SAUL No. This is a very bad idea. Cooler heads, right? JESSE I don't have time for that! Jesse wiggles free. SAUL Pinkman. I know he's dying but you don't know what he's STILL capable of!

18. JESSE I don't care. SAUL He'll get you like he got Mike! JESSE Mike slipped on some wet floor, dumbass. SAUL Eh.. No. Walt killed him too. Jesse stares at Saul for a beat and then runs out, slamming the door behind him. INT. SCHRADER HOME - DAY Walt, Skyler, Hank, Marie and Junior sit around the Schrader's dining room table. Holly's on the floor in her baby cage thing. HANK Yeah, but no sign. The trail just dried up. We think he's just laying low. JUNIOR Uncle Hank, maybe he got got. Maybe some guy b-busted a cap in his ass! Hey! MARIE

HANK No, it's okay. Kid's gotta get the lingo down sooner or later. Skyler looks at Walt. He nods back. She clears her throat. Everyone turns to listen. SKYLER Walt has something to say. JUNIOR W-what is it, Dad? All eyes are on him, waiting. WALT Well, I.. talked to my doctor.

19. MARIE Oh my god.. And... WALT

Skyler puts her hand on his. Time's up. WALT (CONTD)

They drop their silverware and set their drinks down. A beat of shocked silence. HANK Shit. Walt. Are they sure? WALT Pretty sure. Marie walks over and hugs Walt. MARIE Oh Walt! It isn't fair! This gets everybody and all their eyes start to moisten. Junior gets up and throws his arms around his father. He's balling. JUNIOR Dad! No! No.. Skyler watches in tears. Hank is choking up and shaking his head. Shit. HANK

WALT. It's okay. It's okay. I'm thankful we've had all this time to prepare. Skyler gives him a knowing look. Wide shot of the family embracing Walt. JUNIOR Dad. I love you. HANK We'll be with you to the end, Walt.

20. EXT. DEA HEADQUARTERS - DAY Jesse pulls up and stares in the front doors. What is he thinking?

21. ACT 3 INT. WHITE HOUSE - MASTER BEDROOM - DAY Walt and Skyler are laying on the made bed. They're fully dressed but holding each other. It's completely silent for a few seconds. WALT Humor me. What will you do without me? Walt.. SKYLER

WALT No, I want to know. What does it matter anymore? Any guys you're interested in? SKYLER We're not going to talk about that. WALT Come on. It's now or never, Skyler. SKYLER How are you so -- calm? WALT Calm? It's probably the medicine. SKYLER No. You act like it's just another day. It is. WALT

SKYLER Walt, you're about to die. You're about to exit the Earth. WALT We're always about to die. This makes Skyler pause. It's an interesting thought anyway. WALT (CONTD) How would you act if you were about to die? If you only had days left and you knew it?

22. SKYLER I don't know if I'd be so peaceful about it. WALT I've had time to prepare myself. SKYLER But look at all you did with your time. WALT Yeah, look at it. SKYLER It's not you. Who you've been. WALT Or it's MORE me. Silence for a beat. SKYLER You lost yourself. I'm happy. WALT

SKYLER You get to die and not face the repercussions. WALT (smiling smuggly) Maybe I'll go to Hell. SKYLER If there's a Hell you will DEFINITELY end up there. WALT Yeah, but I don't believe in Hell. SKYLER You'd be a better person if you did. Oh well. Silence for a beat. SKYLER That sums up your life. 'Oh well'. WALT

23. WALT

Hmm.

Skyler takes a moment to make her judgement. SKYLER You deserve worse. She exits. Walt doesn't seem to mind. INT. SAUL'S OFFICE - DAY Walt sits across from Saul, looking sickly. SAUL You look exactly like shit. He's right. WALT Are we set? SAUL If by 'set' you mean are your exorbitant finances organized for your family for after you expire' then, yes. They'll each get a specific amount biannually. Little Holly's won't click in for 18 years but once it does she won't have to worry for as long as she lives. The other 2 will be taken care of as well. And yes, 12% will go to the fearless lawyer. 10%. Right. And Jesse? WALT SAUL WALT

SAUL Just as we discussed and he and I have the option to continue along as a junior version of what we've established here. WALT Fine. I'm actually glad I won't be around to see that.

24. SAUL A joker to the end. So, how are you wrapping up your time here on our lovely planet? WALT Just saying my goodbyes. SAUL And how's your lovely wife handling the recent developments? WALT She's dealing. SAUL And just so we're above board, you don't mind if I hit that, do you? WALT 'Do I mind'?! SAUL AFTER. After you're gone, I mean. Maybe next week sometime. Walt is disgusted by this thought. A knock at the door. SAUL (CONTD) The doors of justice are always open! The door opens. It's Jesse. JESSE (to Walt) Mr. White. I've been looking all over for you. Can we talk? Before.. WALT (standing up) Yeah yeah yeah. SAUL Don't let me keep you guys waiting. (to Walt) Listen, it's been a distinct pleasure doing business with you. And I do mean distinct. No offense to the little guy but you're the finest meth dealer I've ever worked with.

25. They shake hands. WALT Don't fuck my wife. EXT. SAUL'S OFFICE - PARKING LOT Walt and Jesse stand next to their vehicles. JESSE I didn't want last time we talked to be the last time. WALT I understand. Yeah. JESSE

WALT We've had some good times, huh? I guess. JESSE

Wide shot of the big, sad parking lot. WALT If you're sour about all I said before, sorry. You know it's all been about the business. Always. JESSE

WALT It isn't the way I would've planned it. JESSE Of course, Mr. White. WALT Well, what do you want me to say? JESSE There's nothing to say. What's done is done. Mr. White, I -WALT -- Before I forget. I have something for you.

26. JESSE I don't really want anything else from you. Walt reaches into the Aztek and pulls out a white box. WALT Just open it. Humor a dying man. Fine. He opens the box. It's the Heisenberg hat. WALT It's my hat. It is. JESSE JESSE

WALT I want you to have it. Why? JESSE

WALT It's a symbolic gesture. I'm passing it all down to you. Walt squeezes Jesse's grip on the hat. JESSE (unhappy) Fine. I'll take it. Walt backs up and opens his car door. WALT Why don't we let this time be the last time? Jesse stares at Walt. He loves the guy, despite himself. He's starting to cry, though he's fighting it. JESSE Goodbye, Mr. White. Walt tries to think of something to say but can't. He gets into the Aztek and drives off. Jesse watches. He almost has a look of relief on his face.

27. That's that. INT. DEA HEADQUARTERS - HANK'S OFFICE - DAY Hank is getting his things together to go home. His BOSS knocks on the doorway next to the open door. BOSS Hank, you got a minute? HANK Sure, just packing things up. Thanks again for letting me have a few days to be with the family. Not an easy week, I'll tell ya' that much. BOSS Hank, there's something you need to see. INT. DEA HEADQUARTERS - EVIDENCE ROOM - JUST THEN Hank and his boss are standing next to a table with a box on it. HANK So, what's in the box, Chief? BOSS Last night we found a package downstairs by the front door. Okay.. HANK

His boss opens the box and pulls out a large bag of blue meth. HANK (CONTD) Wwwhoa. Mama. Who do you think left it? BOSS It's the same Methamphetamine from the suspect you're after. And it contained several photos mixed in with the substance. Yeah? HANK

28. His boss throws down 5 Polaroid photos that look as if they were taken of a TV playing the home video Walt and Jesse filmed in the pilot. It's all Walt. No Jesse. Walt by the RV. Walt cooking. One of him with the final product. BOSS Hank, we have overwhelming evidence that you're dying brother-in-law is your very own Heisenberg. Hank stares expressionless at the photos. Unbelievable.

29. ACT 4 INT. DEA HEADQUARTERS - EVIDENCE ROOM - DAY Like before. HANK I... I don't get it. Where did you get these? BOSS Like I said, they were just outside the front door. HANK Why would someone do this? Why now? BOSS Hank, THESE photos in THIS meth, plus all of the recent clues. All the evidence confirms this. HANK It just can't be. I can't... It just can't be. BOSS Hank, you don't have to be the one to make the arrest. HANK The arrest? The guy's on his deathbed for ______'s sake. BOSS We're still going after him. Hank stops and takes a few steps back. HANK Look, I understand but... I just can't be a part of this. BOSS Do what you need to do. HANK I wish I had more time. BOSS Take all the time you need. Hank walks out of the offices.

30. INT. HANK'S TRUCK - 10 MINUTES LATER Hank drives alone in tears, similarly to that elevator scene in the third season. He's fighting it but he's accepting it too. A part of him already knew the truth. INT. WHITE HOUSE - AN HOUR LATER Walt, Skyler, Junior and Marie sit in the living room. Baby Holly is crawling around on the floor. Walt isn't looking too good. He looks conscious but like he's barely holding on. SKYLER Would you like to go lie down? WALT Maybe later. The front door opens and Hank enters quietly. He's putting on a good face despite these insane circumstances. HANK How we doing? Everyone nods politely. What's the point of answering? JUNIOR H-hey, Uncle Hank. Hank walks over to Walt and puts his hand on his shoulder. HANK Can you spare a minute, buddy? WALT (to everyone) You guys mind? No one does. EXT. WHITE HOUSE - BACK PATIO - NEXT Hank helps Walt limp out. Walt has a cane and he's really struggling but they sit down at the backyard table.

31. HANK I wanted to give you a heads up. Okay? WALT

HANK You've been pegged. Pegged? WALT

Walt is easing into lie-mode. HANK The DEA knows about you. About your work. WALT I don't know what you're talking about. This isn't easy for Hank but he presses on. HANK We know that you're... That you're.. Who? What? Walt. WALT HANK

WALT (Heisenbergian) Heisenberg? Hank shrugs. WALT (CONTD) Well, it took you long enough. Who told you? HANK I'm not going to go into it, Walt. Okay. WALT

HANK The reason I'm telling you this. I.. I have no control of this.

32. Walt waits. HANK (CONTD) Look man, I know you're on death's door but... the DEA is on their way. What?! WALT

HANK I'm expecting they've got a couple SUV's full of guys. It's a routine bust for us -- for them. WALT Hank, I'm about to die. HANK They are very aware of this. And it doesn't matter. If the DEA has anything to say about it, you'll spend your final breaths behind bars. WALT When are they coming? I don't have much time anyway. How soon are they coming after me. HANK Faster than cancer. INT. WHITE HOUSE - MOMENTS LATER Walt walks back in, still leaning on the cane. Hank tries to help but it seems Walt is making it alone just fine now. This is a quiet scene. Walt slowly goes around and hugs and kisses each of his family members. He knows this is absolutely goodbye. They hug and kiss him back, thinking it's just another tender moment in a tender week. Walt starts to walk back to the hallway. Skyler turns to him. SKYLER Hey, what are you doing? WALT I never took that trash out.

33. EXT. WHITE HOUSE - STREET - THAT SECOND From a block away, 2 black SUVs slowly make their way towards the White house. A quick cut inside of each. There's about 12 agents altogether, in complete riot gear. They park right out front. INT. WHITE HOUSE - LAUNDRY ROOM - 2 SECONDS LATER Walt enters the laundry room and turns the lock. Just as it catches, the song "Out of Time Man" from the pilot starts to play. It plays through to the end (just to be clear). With his last bit of strength, Walt throws the large plastic trash can over. Trash falls all over the floor. He turns and opens a cabinet that's filled with all the gallons and gallons of the Hydrofluoric Acid he bought earlier. EXT. WHITE HOUSE - FRONT YARD - RIGHT THEN The agents, guns drawn, and maybe in slow motion, approach the door. That song is still playing. Suddenly -INT. JESSE'S CAR - DAY Jesse is parked alone on a wide open stretch of New Mexico Highway. He's sitting and staring at the Heisenberg hat. He looks at the open road in front of him. That song is still playing. Is he going to put the hat on? He does, and he gets a sort of Heisenberg look on his face. He peels out and pumps the engine. He starts growling. He's gunning it faster and faster. He's screaming JESSE (100%) AHHHHHHHHHHH!!

34. The speed climbs. 60.. 70.. 80.. 90.. 100.. Still screaming. Then... He rolls down the window. JESSE (CONTD) (110%) FUCK!! THIS!! SHIIIIIIIIIT!!!! This is all very cathartic. He looks out the window, rips off the hat and flings it out into the desert. He immediately drops his speed back to the legal limit. Jesse drives off into the New Mexican sunset, finally free. INT. WHITE HOUSE - MEANWHILE The family sits together playing cards. There's something shuffling in the laundry room. SKYLER You alright in there? They're oblivious to the situation in the laundry room, as well as what's happening right outside. The song continues. EXT. WHITE HOUSE - RIGHT THEN The DEA is seconds away from a silent ambush.

35. INT. LAUNDRY ROOM - AS WE SPEAK Walt dumps the last of the Hydrofluoric Acid into the trash can. It's about three fourths of the way full. He takes a few deep breaths.. His face goes full Heisenberg... And he dives right in. Song plays straight into the credits. CUT TO BLACK: THE END
