EDUCATION Graduate diploma in Engineering Management

July 2010- Dec 2010

RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia Attained distinction average Feb2009- July 2010

Masters of International Automotive Engineering

RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia Attained credit average July 2004- Aug2008

Bachelor of technology in Mechanical Engineering

Regency institute of technology, Yanam, India Attained distinction average

EMPLOYMENT Research Assistant Multi-Body Dynamics at RMIT University Feb 2011- Mar 2012 School of Aerospace, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering (SAMME), RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia Responsibilities

Assisted in developing mathematical algorithm and programmed it to a vehicle to drive by itself/self driven. Derived various mathematical equations for various critical road conditions with conjunction to the reaction of tires. Formulated theoretical complex vehicle dynamic conditions to make it more suitable to real world scenarios.

Successful in implementing the integration of sensors, actuators and various electronic devices to a vehicle prototype. Tested and studied the response time of vehicle for the given inputs through National instruments (NI) software. Simulated and interpreted various road conditions and real world scenarios (vehicles reaction if in case of any obstruction) through maple for the finest possible solutions. Coordinated, developed extensive literature review for academic journal publication.

Achievements

Acknowledged as the innovative student project for 2010 by SAMME, RMIT University Excelled in deriving and integrating simple mathematical algorithm to various electronic devices on a vehicle, and achieved an outstanding response time of 0.5 millisecond with minimal use of technology.

Project trainee at Regency ceramics limited, (RCL India) (Co-operative placement between the university and the Industry, unpaid internship) Responsibilities

Aug 2007- May 2008

Assisted in conducting work and motion study on production lines, identified the root cause of major delays and wastage during the production of tiles. Our team established and executed proper work techniques to the workers in the line to reduce the effort of working during the operation and to minimize the time taken to carry that operation. Recorded the operation of entire production (conveyor belt 1) line using motion capture camera to interpret improper work techniques. Summarized and documented the recorded data using pictorial representation emphasizing the areas to be concentrated or revised for effective work pattern. Proposed a redesign of a conveyor belt, from tile set up stage to until the tile passes the oven where enormous amount of time is consumed. Analyzed and interpreted the recorded data for optimized conveyor belt design with minimum lead-time, and finalized CAD drawing for the entire production line.

Achievements

As a token of appreciation for the effort of making a successful project, Regency Ceramics Limited awarded us with a cash prize. Utilizing the techniques of time and motion study helped us enormously to minimize the lead-time of 0.47 sec for each cycle of operation, resulted in faster production with cost effective solution. Redesign of conveyor belt helped to minimize the lead-time by 26% there by increased the production and also eliminated the requirement of a new production line.

Design of an automated, Low cost and Standalone Noise Diagnostic system for power fold actuators (2009). Modeled and optimized a four-stroke engine with best torque vs. power curves along with lowest BSFC (brake specific fuel consumption) using lotus engine simulation software. Life cycle Assessment on a catalytic converter on a typical passenger car using GABI. Mathematical theory of auto driver for autonomous vehicles. I have derived a mathematical algorithm for making the vehicle to drive by itself without human assistance adjusting the vehicle to the road conditions autonomously by adjusting the steer angles. Study of metallurgical and part failures and their suitable replacements. Implementing an ERP system in an automotive industry with best production techniques. Quality Function Deployment (QFD) to prioritize customer needs and to benchmark the products characteristics.
