Your task is to prepare and deliver a team briefing to the larger group. Assume you are a team of inventors who have just finished work on the prototype for a new washing machine that uses half the water and half the power of the average household washing machine. In addition, it doesnt need any laundry powders or liquids because it removes dirt by -a world class-penetrating laser beams (which do not damage the items being washed).You are pitching your invention to senior manager at whirlpool. In your briefing you will need to emphasize: the products features the advantages this washing machine has over other washing machines The benefits whirlpool gain by purchasing your idea The benefits whirlpool gain by being the sole global manufacturer and retailer of the washing machine. Your team should instruct the audience in how the machine works, provide a visual demonstration and explain how easy it will be to sell to the public.

Benefits for whirlpool upon purchasing this idea are: The companys image will improve as it is launching a new innovative washing machine which saves cost and time for its customers. Whirlpools brand loyalty will increase. It will gain more customers which in turn will bring more business to the company

Benefits for whirlpool for being the sole manufacturer and retailer: More Market share As whirlpool will be the only company selling this new washing machine, it will have the largest market share in the washing machine industry. More long-term profits It may be difficult to be the only retailer of such an innovative product as it demands for huge investments however, in the long term this investment will bring a huge amount of profit. Monopoly in the market Keeping in mind that whirlpool is the only global manufacturer of this washing machine; it can set its own prices as it is now a monopoly. Economies of scale Monopolies like whirlpool can achieve economies of scale. It can produce in bulk which means buying from suppliers will get them discount and sometimes even complementary services. Stable hold on the business It can specialize in only one type of household product or only one type of washing machine as it already has a stable place in the market. Global demand for the product Global demand for such a washing machine will also bring the company goodwill and fame along with the worldwide market share and profits.

How it works??
Top Load or Front Load? Top or front loading washers can also be called washer-extractors. Top loading machines have doors located at the top while front loaders have doors in front. There are many differences between the two. Here are some important ones: Price Front loaders are more expensive at least 30% more expensive than top loaders. Water Consumption Front loaders consume less water. You save at least 40% on your water consumption because of the difference in the cleaning mechanism between the two. Front loaders dont need to completely immerse the clothes in water. In front loaders, clothes get cleaned by the cascading action of the tub the clothes are brought up then they drop back down into the wash.

In top loaders, clothes should be completely immersed since the motion of the tub does not allow the cascading effect. An agitator is used instead forcing the clothes to submerge deeper into the wash before bringing them back up to the surface. Washing process A top loading washers washing cycle can be interrupted. Meaning, when you open a top loaders doors, the cycle stops and lets you reach in the wash to retrieve/ inspect an item. For front loaders, this is impossible because when you open the door, the wash will no longer be in a water-tight chamber. For front loaders, you have to complete the wash cycle before you can open the door. Voltage Some machines require 110V instead of our normal 220V. This means you will need to purchase a separate transformer which could be pricey. Tub type Ceramic or stainless? Ceramic-coated tubs are cheaper and they last as long as ordinary machines bodies which rust. Salespeople might want to sell you a stainless steel tub version for a higher price. If the machine is just about 10-11 kilo capacity, go for the ceramic tub. For industrial size machines, almost all tubs are stainless steel.

Cleaning clothes
Operating a washing machine is pretty simple:

There are a few things to decide before you start your load of clothes, such as how big the load is (small, medium, large, extra-large), what temperature the water will be for the wash and rinse cycles (cold/cold, warm/cold, warm/warm, hot/cold), how the machine should agitate (delicate, knit, permanent press, heavy), and how long the cycles should last (number of minutes, based on how soiled your clothes are). After you fill the tub with clothes, the machine fills the tub with water, and then stirs the clothes around using an agitator. After some time agitating, the washer drains the water and then spins the clothes to remove most of the water. Then, it refills, and agitates the clothes some more to rinse out the soap. Then it drains and spins again.
