Global Warming While global warming has been happening since humanity started its works on this planet

it has been slowly but surely changing the climate. Since the 19th Century many scientists have become concerned with the rise in temperature due to the burning of fossil fuels. As well as many health professionals believe that climate change is going to affect may people who suffer from chronic illness. Some say that it may be too late to save our planet from climate change. Though, climate change is inevitable there may be a few things that are in the works to help reduce carbon and green house gases. While carbon and green house gases are changing the face of the planet, it is changing the way of life on earth. Today global warming has impacted many people, places, and things. With the planets temperature continuing to rise we will see many changes to come. One of the most contributed to global warming is carbon from emissions and it is more abundant that it has ever been. Carbon is emitted in many forms such as the burning of fossil fuels, coal, oil, and natural gas. These are the highest of the concentrations that contribute to global warming. There are others such as green house gases, which consist of water vapor this happens when water evaporates from rivers, lakes, oceans, and is also emitted from jets. Secondly, carbon dioxide, which is emitted through the burning of coal, oil, and natural gas, and wood. In addition methane which is emitted through swap lands, farming, and mining, to name a few. The compound that is associated with smog it is called Carbon Dioxide three this compound is what causes all the negative effects within our larger cities. This compound is sought to be what keeps our larger cities warmer with the changing of seasons. With all of these chemicals looming in our lower-level and upper-level ozone, it allows the earth to warm by trapping the suns rays within the ozone. However, humanity has evolved, which in return has required the mining and burning of fossil fuels to heat and provide power to or cities and to our homes(National Climatic Data Center. 8/2008)(Climate Change Health. 1/2010) Global Research Technologies, (2007). Has teamed with Columbia University and has been in the works for many years working on, and testing a prototype that captures carbon. There are several plots within the United States for plans to capture carbon and turn it into water vapor and store it under ground. Using one of these devices can capture about 10 tons of carbon a year, it basically would be determined on the height

and width of the device. Though, theres no set year to date to start the capture of carbon, it would help reduce the carbon from emissions and green house gases thats been building up over the decades. Until there are changes made in governmental policy we may suffer from the changes of the climate, do to global warming. Scientists believe that if global warming continues that our Arctic poles will continue to melt, which in return we will see a rise in ocean levels, more volatile in the form of hydrological weather meaning more rain, excessive heat, and drought. With our globe warming and cooling we could see a loss of life not just in humans but in plant and animal life as well (Climate Change Health. 1/2010). Global warming will have many effects on health wise humans. Excessive heat will result in more heat related deaths amongst the chronically ill and the elderly as well as more premature deaths with those who suffer from cardiovascular disease. Excessive heat will also decrease lung function causing more stress on our airways making it harder to breath. Due to the warming of the climate there will be more related cases of asthma due to the seasons starting earlier and lasting longer. This will create more microbial allergens, and pollen in the air, and because of more rain forecasted this could result in more mold growth do to more hydrological events of prolonged rain(Climate Change Health. Allergic and Respiratory Disease and Climate change. 1/2010). The only way to avoid and greatly reduce the effects of global warming, are to resort to alternative energy using alternate sources of travel and use of energy efficient appliances and automobiles. There are many new viable sources for energy saving and that greatly reduce pollution. For instance, by traveling by train reduces water vapor from planes. Traveling by train is 10 times less Carbon Dioxide intensive than traveling by plane or automobile. Many countries already incorporate train travel as more energy efficient (Mollman for CNN. 1/2010). There are many other forms of energy efficiency such as hydrogen or electric cars. For the house hold many people are changing their old appliances and replacing them with more energy efficient appliances. As well as replacing some of their household chemicals with environmental friendly appliances. Even the smallest thing that helps you see within your house now comes in the energy efficient form, the light bulb which consumes less power and will save people money and help reduce powerplant production. Though these energy efficient products may be more costly they are better for the environment and humanity.

So the best thing to do is try to be as environmental friendly as we possibly can. This can only mean a cleaner and better life for our children. Not to mention there are large tax breaks for companies and those using more energy efficient tools to help reduce the effects of global warming. For the citizens there are also tax breaks to but the major rewards are more cash in your pocket because were not consuming as much energy by purchasing energy efficient products. So keep in mind when youre purchasing a new vehicle, is it going to cost you more at the pump? If so its probably not energy efficient.
