Corporate Project
Brief Project Description: Transparent India (TI) invites students of NMIMS to apply for open positions for a research project. What Is Transparent India? Transparent India believes that knowledge is power. We want to empower Indians with the right knowledge on things that affect our day to day lives. Joining our team, you will be making history, as your research will help build the knowledge base that can potentially have a huge impact on the life of every Indian. What will you do? As a TI researcher, you will conduct primary research with the help of literature searches, surveys, interviews with experts and key opinion leaders, interviews with consumers as applicable to create a report on one very interesting and relevant topic in the provided template. Your research will become the part of a repository that will be open to the public for free usage. We have projects that are wide-ranging and will make sure that you get a project that excites you. 2. Frequency of visits to Corporate Office (per week): None 3. No. of hours required to be spent per day: 2 hours per day 4. Any specific Criteria for the applying students : Students should be able to commit for the entire duration of four weeks, and not cram all the work for the last few days, since that generally results in poor quality work. The project is divided into 2 phases 5. Project open to both Ist and IInd year students? : Yes 6. Does the project involve travel?: The project involves extensive research for a topic chosen by the student. Most of the research can be done by conducting online search, phone calls and in the college library. However, students will be expected to interview experts in the field of their topics, and consumers - these interviews will require some local travelling within the city 7. Duration of the Project (in weeks): Four weeks (assuming a 5 day work week). The project is divided into two phases. The first phase will last for two weeks, at the end of which the students will need to submit their reports. Students will receive feedback on their reports in the third week. They will then have one more week to address the suggestions and comments and submit their final report. Overall, we expect the students to put in roughly 30-40 hours of total work for the project. 8. Stipend/Certificate: If a students work report meets our needs and standards, they will be given credit on our website (in form of their name and link back to their home page, if

any). For exceptional work, we will also be happy to provide letters of recognition to students (quality of work will be judged by our company). Students are expected to do local travelling within their city to interview area experts. We will pay students an amount of Rs. 250 for each travel to cover local travel charges. Students will only be paid for a maximum of four trips, setting the maximum travel allowance per student at Rs.1000. Documentation required to avail this allowance will be explained to selected students in their project orientation packet.
