Turmeric futures climb 3.87 pc on strong demand: Turmeric prices surged by Rs 218 to Rs 5,850 per quintal in futures trading today as speculators enlarged their positions, driven by strong demand in the spot market. At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, turmeric for delivery in September surged by Rs 218, or 3.87 per cent, to Rs 5,850 per quintal, with an open interest of 11,535 lots. Chilli futures climb 3.21 pc on strong demand: At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chilli for delivery in October shot up by Rs 182, or 3.21 per cent, to Rs 5,852 per quintal, with an open interest of 410 lots.
