(NASB) And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. (KJV) http://bible.cc/genesis/1-2.htm When You send Your Spirit, they are created, and you renew the face of the earth. (NASB) And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. (KJV) http://bible.cc/genesis/2-7.htm So it is written: "The first man Adam became a living being"; the last Adam, a life-giving spirit. (NIV) So also it is written, "The first MAN, Adam, BECAME A LIVING SOUL." The last Adam became a lifegiving spirit.(NASB) And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. (KJV) http://bible.cc/1_corinthians/15-45.htm
Adam (Hebrew: $#! " , !"#$m, "dust; man; mankind"; Arabic: #"! , !"dam) and Eve (Hebrew: *' () % & , %aww$, "living one")

The first man was of the dust of the earth, the second man from heaven. (NIV) The first man is from the earth, earthy; the second man is from heaven. (NASB) The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. (KJV) http://bible.cc/1_corinthians/15-47.htm

(KJV) http://bible.cc/genesis/7-22.htm Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned-- http://bible.cc/romans/5-12.htm Nevertheless, death reigned from the time of Adam to the time of Moses, even over those who did not sin by breaking a command, as did Adam, who was a pattern of the one to come. http://bible.cc/romans/5-14.htm For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God's abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ. http://bible.cc/romans/5-17.htm so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.(NIV) http://bible.cc/romans/5-21.htm You turn men back to dust, saying, "Return to dust, O sons of men." (NIV) You turn man back into dust And say, "Return, O children of men." (NASB) Thou turnest man to destruction; and sayest, Return, ye children of men. (KJV) http://bible.cc/psalms/90-3.htm

As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him; for he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust. (NIV) Just as a father has compassion on his children, So the LORD has compassion on those who fear Him. For He Himself knows our frame; He is mindful that we are but dust. (NASB) Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him. For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust. (KJV) http://bible.cc/psalms/103-13.htm When you hide your face, they are terrified; when you take away their breath, they die and return to the dust. (NIV) You hide Your face, they are dismayed; You take away their spirit, they expire And return to their dust. (NASB) Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled: thou takest away their breath, they die, and return to their dust. (NIV) "But it is a spirit in man, And the breath of the Almighty gives them understanding. (NASB) But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.(KJV) http://bible.cc/job/32-8.htm

The Spirit of God has made me; the breath of the Almighty gives me life. (NIV) The Spirit of God has made me, And the breath of the Almighty gives me life. (NASB) The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life. (KJV) http://bible.cc/job/33-4.htm If it were his intention and he withdrew his spirit and breath, all mankind would perish together and man would return to the dust. (NIV) If He should determine to do so, If He should gather to Himself His spirit and His breath, All flesh would perish together, And man would return to dust. (NASB) If he set his heart upon man, if he gather unto himself his spirit and his breath; All flesh shall perish together, and man shall turn again unto dust. (KJV) http://bible.cc/ecclesiastes/12-7.htm I also thought, "As for men, God tests them so that they may see that they are like the animals. (NIV) I said to myself concerning the sons of men, "God has surely tested them in order for them to see that they are but beasts." (NASB) I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts. (KJV) http://bible.cc/ecclesiastes/3-18.htm Man's fate is like that of the animals; the same fate awaits them both: As one dies, so dies the other. All have the same breath; man has no advantage over the animal. Everything is meaningless. (NIV) For the fate of the sons of men and the fate of beasts is the same. As one dies so dies the other; indeed, they all have the same breath and there is no advantage for man over beast, for all is vanity. (NASB) For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity. (KJV) http://bible.cc/ecclesiastes/3-19.htm

All go to the same place; all come from dust, and to dust all return. (NIV) All go to the same place. All came from the dust and all return to the dust. (NASB) All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again. (KJV) http://bible.cc/ecclesiastes/3-20.htm Who knows if the spirit of man rises upward and if the spirit of the animal goes down into the earth? (NIV) Who knows that the breath of man ascends upward and the breath of the beast descends downward to the earth? (NASB) Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth? (KJV) http://bible.cc/ecclesiastes/3-21.htm But man, despite his riches, does not endure; he is like the beasts that perish. (NIV) But man in his pomp will not endure; He is like the beasts that perish. (NASB) Nevertheless man being in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts that perish. (KJV) http://bible.cc/psalms/49-12.htm A man who has riches without understanding is like the beasts that perish. (NIV) Man in his pomp, yet without understanding, Is like the beasts that perish. (NASB) Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish. (NIV) "For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son also gives life to whom He wishes. (NASB) For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will. (KJV) http://bible.cc/john/5-21.htm For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son to have life in himself. Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?" (NIV) http://bible.cc/john/11-25.htm Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, (NIV) http://bible.cc/hebrews/9-27.htm For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. http://bible.cc/romans/6-23.htm As it is written: "I have made you a father of many nations." He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed--the God who gives life to the dead and calls things that are not as though they were. (NIV) http://bible.cc/romans/4-7.htm And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you. http://bible.cc/romans/8-11.htm But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him. http://bible.cc/acts/2-24.htm By his power God raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise us also. (NIV) "Nor do they lie beside the fallen heroes of the uncircumcised, who went down to Sheol with their weapons of war and whose swords were laid under their heads; but the punishment for their iniquity rested on their bones, though the terror of these heroes was once in the land of the living. (NASB) And they shall not lie with the mighty that are fallen of the uncircumcised, which are gone down to hell with their weapons of war: and they have laid their swords under their heads, but their iniquities shall be upon their bones, though they were the terror of the mighty in the land of the living. For now I would be lying down in peace; I would be asleep and at rest http://bible.cc/job/3-13.htm

This is what God the LORD says--he who created the heavens and stretched them out, who spread out the earth and all that comes out of it, who gives breath to its people, and life to those who walk on it: (NIV) Thus says God the LORD, Who created the heavens and stretched them out, Who spread out the earth and its offspring, Who gives breath to the people on it And spirit to those who walk in it, (NASB) http://bible.cc/isaiah/42-5.htm I will not accuse forever, nor will I always be angry, for then the spirit of man would grow faint before me--the breath of man that I have created. http://bible.cc/isaiah/57-16.htm This is the word of the LORD concerning Israel. The LORD, who stretches out the heavens, who lays the foundation of the earth, and who forms the spirit of man within him, declares: http://bible.cc/zechariah/12-1.htm My strength is dried up like a potsherd, and my tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth; you lay me in the dust of death. http://bible.cc/psalms/22-15.htm

The Resurrection of the Dead (1 Corinthians 15)

But if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13 If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. 14 And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. 15 More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead. But he did not raise him if in fact the dead are not raised. 16 For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either.
12

And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. 18 Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost. 19 If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men. 20 But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.
17

For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. 22 For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. 23But each in his own turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him. 24 Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power. 25 For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet.26 The last enemy to be destroyed is death. 27 For he has put everything under his feet.[c] Now when it says that everything has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ. 28 When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all.
21

Now if there is no resurrection, what will those do who are baptized for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why are people baptized for them? 30 And as for us, why do we endanger ourselves every hour? 31 I die every day I mean that, brothersjust as surely as I glory over you in Christ Jesus our Lord. 32 If I fought wild beasts in Ephesus for merely human reasons, what have I gained? If the dead are not raised,
29

Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die.[d] Do not be misled: Bad company corrupts good character. 34 Come back to your senses as you ought, and stop sinning; for there are some who are ignorant of GodI say this to your shame.
33

The Resurrection Body

But someone may ask, How are the dead raised? With what kind of body will they come? 36 How foolish! What you sow does not come to life unless it dies. 37 When you sow, you do not plant the body that will be, but just a seed, perhaps of wheat or of something else. 38 But God gives it a body as he has determined, and to each kind of seed he gives its own body. 39All flesh is not the same: Men have one kind of flesh, animals have another, birds another and fish another.
35

There are also heavenly bodies and there are earthly bodies; but the splendor of the heavenly bodies is one kind, and the splendor of the earthly bodies is another. 41 The sun has one kind of splendor, the moon another and the stars another; and star differs from star in splendor. 42 So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; 43it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; 44 it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body.
40

If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. 45 So it is written: The first man Adam became a living being[e]; the last Adam, a lifegiving spirit. 46 The spiritual did not come first, but the natural, and after that the spiritual. 47 The first man was of the dust of the earth, the second man from heaven. 48 As was the earthly man, so are those who are of the earth; and as is the man from heaven, so also are those who are of heaven. 49 And just as we have borne the likeness of the earthly man, so shall we[f] bear the likeness of the man from heaven. I declare to you, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. 51 Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed 52 in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 53 For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. 54 When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: Death has been swallowed up in victory.[g]
50 55

Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?[h]

The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory (over sin & death) through our Lord Jesus Christ. 58 Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
