BUSINESS ENGLISH

INTRODUCTION In today's high tech work environment, the language of global communication is International English. Professionals working in such an environment need to be able to converse and communicate efficiently in English. XXX offers an Everyday English pronunciation and speaking course that is communicative and emphasizes the importance of conversation in the business context. Participants' accuracy and proficiency in the language are greatly developed through monitored training that exposes learners to the latest issues in today's business world and uses this knowledge to develop language use and competency.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES Participants learn how to manipulate language and functional skills to communicate effectively in a Malaysian business environment Participants practice speaking and listening in a variety of common formal and informal business situations Participants learn vocabulary/idiomatic language development, Malaysian business etiquette and cultural influences. Participants will focus is on communication strategies and vocabulary Participants to practice the consonant and vowel sounds Participants learn how stress and intonation affect a person's ability to understand what is said

Business-related speaking situations Understanding the Malaysian Business Conversation requirements Business speaking situations in the Organization o Language in telephone conversations o Language in a meeting o Language in face-to-face conversations Presenting and Discussing Ideas Adjusting speech according to the business situation and its register requirements Identifying and Using a wide range of structures and business vocabulary fluently and appropriately

Oral Communication Strategies Using a wide range of communication strategies including verbal, nonverbal and register, naturally in their business communication. Communicating effectively in spoken English: Discussion and Participation Dealing with Accents: sound production, rhythm, stress and intonation Making presentations Becoming more comfortable in expressing your ideas in English

Vocabulary Identifying words Strategies to increase your vocabulary Matching vocabulary (words and phrases) to situational requirements
