Act 1
Hey, hello people. Oh.. *clicks on aura sight, and starts pointing* Hello there changeling, hi gangrel, ohI see a few huntersand ooh look a mage.followed by a wraith..oh ohover in the corner a garou!! Hmm..and that is just a small example of what I call aura-twinking It's most frequented in chat rooms, and sometimes tabletopbut not often on the latter. I've noticed that most people don't even know what an aura is made up ofmuch less how to read it in-game Sowhat's a Ghostie to do? I could spend all day explaining it to them individuallyor I could write this here essay :)

"V:tM p150 the char may view a particular subjects aura only once with any degree of clarity, any subsequent attempts that results in failure should be considered botches. it is very easy for the char to imagine seeing what she wants to see when judging someone's intentions. after a full month, the char may try again at no penalty." I don't see here, where it would be easy in any way to interpret someone's aura, there are a lot of "if"s, "and"s, and "but"s about it... So people'z habit of just reading an aura for what the subject IS disturbs me.... For one, it's not easy to see to begin with... For two, mistakes are easy and there are few clear markers as to what or how something is.. Even the state of someone's physical body has bearing on it--if they're intensely sick, if they're dying--whether from bleeding or a terminal illness--their aura shows it. if they're disturbed, their aura shows it...no matter what the flip is going on--their aura shows it... Therefor it's always changing... First off...an aura is shown as colors overlayed over what's already therea bit disconcerting if you're not used to it. And I've gotten a list of themfeel free to print it out. There are 3 parts to an aura - the actual emotional, the spirit, and the physical body.... Emotional is a realm unto itself--and is the trademark of anything WITH an aura. afraid = orange aggressive = purple angry = red bitter = brown

(Because it IS!!--it's seen THROUGH the shroud.) **Risen- Pale colors--Vampire-like **Using Puppetry=Aura overlay on the "Consort"-- or subject of Possession **Using Inhabit-Shell-ride=Aura overlay on whatever Thing that's being possessed. **Using Embody 4= A Little paler than normal Colors--Ghoul-like **Using Embody 5= Seems to have a Terminal Illness Imbued(Hunter) = NORMAL--changing ONLY when conviction is used Mummy=Bright and Vibrantly Alive Everything Else---Dunno, why don't you tell me. The Physical Side-- This is varied because of the strength of a person's LIFE force. This is why when wraith's use the final art of embody(Materialize)--however temporarily and COSTLY it is--They are--for a brief moment, alive... They breathe, they have a heart beat, they sweat--everything...they're alive.......it's...just....VERY temporary, and mindblowing-in-cost to maintain.

Above-Vampires are sick in Spirit--it's been debated whether or not they actually have one but i'm not going there. And their physical body isn't alive--hence they are very pale, as they really only have one of the 3 left to draw on... Ghouls are also sick in spirit--their physical body is alive--and emotional is well and good--so they're simply a little pale... Mages are enhanced spiritually with quintessence and their avatar....this shines through as random sparkles..everything else is normal. Shifters are connected to the earth, both physically and spiritually, this enriches them to the point where they seem very vibrant to the sight. Fae are not quite of this world--they spiritually belong truly to another, and the magic and glamour of the other realm shines through them like a rainbow haze. Mummy are also enriched spiritually--they are part god--they cannot die, truly. So both physically and spiritually they are vibrant and alive. "Hunters" are a class unto themselves--there is nothing truly special about any of these 3 aspects--it's only the intervention of something else that allows them to do what they do--hence--they look normal :) Wraith-Normal State They have no body and have been forced across the shroud--that curtain obscures the 2 sides of them that are left, spiritual and emotional--so they are very hard to see. They also have a sickness of the spirit--it's called a Shadow. Risen- They have a body, yey!, it's dead, boo!, So the aura mimic's a Vamps Puppetry-they've pulled themselves back across the shroud, but into another person--so you can see them again, but they're mixed with the other person...if there still is one. Inhabit--Shellride--same concept--but no other. Embody-2-They did it again--but not into anything physical-Embody-3-They have become physical, but not alive--sort of like inhabiting a statue--that they just made appear. Embody-4-They have become physical and semi-alive, not truly-- sort of like a ghoul... Embody-5-They. Are. Alive. .....REALLY. --Even if it's only temporary.
