Do I have to be a member of IIBA to apply for certification? No. Certification candidates are not required to be IIBA members to take certification examinations. Who is the target audience for the CCBA designation? The CCBA certification program is for business analysts with at least two to three years of practical BA experience. Who is the target audience for the CBAP designation? The CBAP certification program is for senior members of the business analysis community with at least five years of practical BA experience. Are the certification exams offered in other languages? Currently, the CCBA and CBAP certification examinations are offered in the English language only, but other languages may be included in the future. Where and when are the exams being offered? Locations for computer-based testing of the certification exams can be found on the IIBA website (www.IIBA.org) under Certification. Exam dates and times are made available when an applicant has been approved. After I submit my application, how long before I am notified that Im approved to sit for the exam? We will notify you within one week that your application was received. We will assess your application within 21 business days from the time we receive it, unless otherwise notified.

Applicants must meet the certification entrance criteria: Certification of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA)
Minimum 3750 hours of BA work experience aligned with the BABOK Guide in the last 7 years Minimum 900 hours in 2 of the 6 knowledge areas or 500 hours in 4 of the 6 knowledge areas Minimum 21 hours of Professional Development in the past 4 years Minimum high school education or equivalent Two references from a career manager, client or CBAP recipient Signed Code of Conduct

The Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) recipient is a senior business analyst, recognized as an expert in identifying the business needs of an organization to determine business solutions. This role is increasingly recognized as a vital component of any successful project. The Certification of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA) designation is for business analysis practitioners who want to be recognized for their experience and achieve a milestone in their BA career. The CCBA designation allows BAs to demonstrate their skills and their ability to take on greater responsibility. IIBA expects the CCBA designation to become the industry standard certification for business analysts. IIBA certifications have been carefully designed to be compliant with the International Standards Organization (ISO) 17024 standard for certifying the competence of personnel.
