Computer Networks and Communications

Introduction

The

purpose

of a computer

communications

network

is to

allow moving information from one point to another inside the network. The information could be stored on a device, such as a personal computer in the network, it could be generated live outside the network, such as speech, or could be generated by a process on another piece of information, such as automatic salestransactions at the end of a business day. The device does not necessarily have to be a computer; i t c o u l d be a hard disk, a camera or even a printer on the network. Due to

a l a r g e v a r i e t y o f information to be moved, and due to the fact that each type of information has its own conditionsfor intelligibility, the computer network has evolved into a highly complex system. Specializedknowledge from many areas of science and engineering goes into the design of networks. It is practically impossible for a single area of science or engineering to be entirely responsible for the design of all the components. Therefore, a study of computer networks branches into many areas we go up from fundamentals to the advanced levels.

Mobile Computing Definition

Mobile computing is "taking a computer and all necessary files and software out into the field." "Mobile computing: being able to use a computing device even when being mobile and therefore changing location. Portability is one aspect of mobile computing." "Mobile computing is the ability to use computing capability without a pre-defined location and/or connection to a network to publish and/or subscribe to information." Uwe Vieille, ACM.org Mobile Computing is a variety of wireless devices that has the mobility to allow people to connect to the internet, providing wireless transmission to access data and information from where ever location they may be.

Specification, services, and frequencies of Mobile Computing

SPECIFICATION
The S60 5th Edition has a lot of goodness in technology. It has 3.5-inch TFT and 16 million colours. The widescreen also about Mhd. It has 640360 pixels and it use the Nokia Battery BP-4L that is about 1500 mAh. The memory is about up to 48GB which is 32GB Internal Memory and 16GB Micro SD Expansion Slot. Themain camera use the Carl Zeiss Tessar Lens and it is about 5MP (2584 x 1938). The format of the picture is JPEG/EXIF (16.7 Million / 24-bit color) and the video capture is MPEG-4 VGA, 640480 at 30fps. The camera aperture is about F2.8 and the focal length is 5.4mm. Thistechnology use Dual LED Camera for the flash.

SERVICES
For its service, it has WLAN IEEE 802.11 b/g with UPnP support, Micro USB Connector plus 3.5 mm stereo headphone plug. It also has TV-Out Support, data transfer via Bluetooth 2.0, A-GPS and Internet surfing

FREQUENCIES
Its frequencies are up to 2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 and 3G Network HSDPA 900 / 1900 / 2100.

Internet Technology and Services VoIP

Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) is a general term for a family of transmission technologies for delivery of voice communications over IP (internet protocol) networks such as the Internet or other packet-switched networks. Other terms frequently encountered and synonymous with VoIP are IP telephony, Internet telephony, voice over broadband ( VoBB ), broadband telephony, and broadband phone.

BLOG

A blog is basically a type of website, like a forum or a social bookmarking site. As such it is defined by the technical aspects and features around it, and not by the content published inside it.

4.0 4.1

Types of network. PAN

A personal area network (PAN) is a computer network used for communication among computerized devices, including telephones and personal digital assistants. PANs can be used for communication among the personal devices themselves (intrapersonal communication), or for connecting to a higher level network and the Internet (an uplink).

4.2

VPN

A virtual private network (VPN) is a secure network that uses primarily public telecommunication infrastructures, such as the Internet, to provide remote offices or traveling users an access to a central organizational network.

4.3

WLAN

A wireless local area network (WLAN) links two or more devices using some wireless distribution method (typically spread-spectrum or OFDM radio), and usually providing a connection through an access point to the wider internet. This gives users the mobility to move around within a local coverage area and still be connected to the network. Most modern WLANs are based on IEEE 802.11 standards, marketed under the Wi-Fi brand name.

4.4

WIMAX

WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) is a communication technology for wirelessly delivering high-speed Internet service to large geographical areas. The 2005 WiMAX revision provided bit rates up to 40 Mbit/s with the 2011 update of up to 1 Gbit/s for fixed stations. It is a part of a fourth generation, or 4G, of wireless-communication technology. WiMax far surpasses the 30-metre (100-foot) wireless range of a conventional Wi-Fi local area network (LAN), offering a metropolitan area network with a signal radius of about 50 km (30 miles). The name "WiMAX" was created by the WiMAX Forum, which was formed in June 2001 to promote conformity and interoperability of the standard. The forum describes WiMAX as "a standards-based technology enabling the delivery of last mile wireless broadband access as an alternative to cable and DSL". WiMax offers data-transfer rates of up to 75 Mbit/s, which is superior to conventional cable-modem and DSL connections. However, the bandwidth must be split among multiple users and thus yields lower speeds in practice

Conclusion

We can conclude that computer networks and communication makes our life easier to communicate with each other and the world using the computer.
