Fun in the summer sun

unny summer days and hot temperatures are in full effect, and so is the warm weather fun in the Downriver area. Have a wild time whipping around on carnival rides or leisurely peruse one of the local farmers markets there are fun summer activities suited for everyone. The following calendar highlights much of the entertainment and amusement, from festivals and fireworks to concerts and carnivals, offered in August throughout the News-Heralds coverage area. Also included are highlights of some of the major events in September. Look for more detailed calendars on the last Sundays in August and September. For more information on a particular event, check the papers weekly listings or contact the city or organization holding the event.
