The Dancers Sermon Publication #3 July 24, 03 By Marlita Hill

Some time ago the Spirit of God dealt with me regarding what I was speaking over my dancing. It is important that, even in our dancing, we exercise faith, according to the will of God. In James 2, we are told that faith without works is dead. In his series Bible Faith, Bishop Clarence McClendon taught that living faith (because you can have dead faith) is having a conviction, or persuasion, and then taking some action that corresponds to what you are convicted, or persuaded about. Until you have done something that shows what you believe, its not living faith. Now, the first corresponding action we can take that demonstrates what we are persuaded about is what comes out of our mouths. Now you might say Marlita, what are we supposed to say? I know what you mean. There are no direct scriptures for the dancer to speak in faith. We are told to praise God in the dance. We are given examples of occasions that dance was used for, but no real direct scriptures for us. One day, the Spirit of God began to deal with me about this and He showed me that even though there are no specific and direct scriptures to the dancer (besides Psalms 149 and 150), principally there is scripture that can be applied to the dancer. So He began to illuminate and explain scripture for me that I could declare over my ministry and today I am sharing this with you so you can declare them over your life and your ministry and watch God respond to His word in your life. Now, two things. First, Heb. 11:1 says Now faith is In Bible Faith, Bishop Mc Clendon taught that faith is always is. Faith is always present tense because we speak those things that be not as though they were (right now). So the scriptures given have been put in the present tense. Second, the word of God is direct to what it mentions but it also is principle that can be applied to other areas and situations. Therefore, by the permission and direction of the Holy Spirit, I have principally applied these scriptures to dance. Make them personal to your situation, your needs and your ministry. In this manner, you can apply scripture towards whatever need you have in your life. Just always make sure that you ask the Holy Spirit for guidance so as not to impose on scripture, or apply scripture to something it was not intended for. Happy declaring!!

Choreography
Ex. 35:31-35 I am filled with the Spirit of God, in wisdom and understanding, in knowledge and all manner of workmanship to choreograph and design excellent and anointed dances and showsAnd I have in my heart the ability to teach. Ex. 4:12 I go because You are with me teaching me what to say through my dance. Ex. 25:40 I make it a point to design the dances according to the pattern, which was shown to me in my time with God.

James 1:5 Father, You said if anyone lack wisdom, let him ask for it. I know this is a divine principle so Father I ask you for a fresh infilling of your creativity, that I might design dances as a skilled craftsman. I receive that infilling right now and I thank you for it in Jesus name. Amen. 1 Cor. 2:4 The Spirit of God is in me and He reveals to me the deep creativity of God in choreography, lighting, production and costuming. He shows me dances that eyes have not seen and He gives me music that ears have not heard, nor entered into the hearts of man. John 12:49 I do not speak on my own authority; but the Father who sent me gives me a command what I should say (what song to dance to) and what I should speak (the choreography and visual design).

Dancers/All
Deut. 12:11 In my dance is where the Lord chooses to make His name (His nature, character and authority) abide. Acts 4:29 I speak Your word [through my dance] with all boldness and You stretch out Your hand to heal and signs and wonders are done through the name of Jesus. Mt. 5:20 The songs You direct me to do and the moves You give me to do, that will I do only. The message You give me in my ear, [through the songs and moves I receive from You], that I will declare through my dance. Mk. 16:20 As I go out and preach the word through my dance, the Lord works with and confirms the word [I declared through my dance] with accompanying signs and wonders. Prov. 16:3 (AMP) Father, I commit my dancing, this dance ministry (you can put your name or your ministrys name here) to You. I declare that you are causing my thoughts to be agreeable to Your will for (you can put your name or your ministrys name here) and I am thinking the same thoughts You are about me/us/dance ministry. I Ptr. 4:11 When I dance, I dance as God speaking through me. I dance with the ability which God supplies, and in every move of my body God is glorified. John 10:4-5 I know the voice of My Father when He speaks to me regarding this dance ministry and a strangers voice I do not follow. I have a hearing ear and a seeing eye.

1 Cor. 2:4 I declare the word of God through my dance in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that [the faith of those who are watching me should not be in me and my ability, but in the power of God. 1 Co. 12:27 / 2 Cor. 3:16-17 I am the body of Christ. The Spirit of God uses my dance to declare His works in the earth. He is Lord of my body and when He dances through me, my flesh is taken away and all the people see is Christ.

Ministry Leader Dan. 6:3 [Our dance ministry] distinguishes itself because an excellent spirit is in us. Neh. 4:6 Those who are part of this [dance ministry] have a mind to work. 1 Chr. 28:21 every willing craftsman is with me for all manner of workmanship, for every kind of service. Also those who serve under my authority [respect and adhere to my instructions]. 2 Chr. 1:10 I have wisdom and knowledge to properly [govern, lead, and administrate] those who are in this ministry under my authority. I Kings 3:9 I have an understanding mind and I am able to govern this ministry excellently and know the difference between right and wrong.
