    Constructiile there is pentru singular si there are pentru plural se traduc cu : se afla. Ele se aseaza inaintea subiectului. Examples: There is a flower in the window La fereastra se afla o floare. Are there flowers in the window? Sunt flori la fereastra? !Flower singular; Flowers plural Forme prescurtate: theres (de la there is) there isnt (de la there is not) there arent (de la there are not)

    Constructia it is (forma prescurtata: its) asezata la inceputul unei propozitii se traduce prin este. Examples: What does that picture represents? Its a plane/ Its a man/Its a woman. Ce reprezinta imaginea aceea? Este un avion/Este un barbat/Este o femeie. It is Ann who looks after the flowers. Ann este aceea care ingrijeste de flori.

    Exercise 3. Answer these questions. Use IT IS in expressions of time, weather and distance, and in sentences such as, WHO IS IT? ITS ME. a and b are the examples: a. Alex: Is it Alice over there? (Susan) Betty: No, it isnt. Its Susan. b. Alex: Is it time to go? Betty: Yes, it is. Its time to go.
