Dear OWE Association,

We would like to introduce ourselves we are Bobi Axtell and Gary Grince, OWE residents. We are
interested in becoming the Caretakers of the Mansion View Inn, Bed and Breakfast. We have many years of
individual and collective experience in customer service, food service, catering, building and grounds
maintenance, and event planning. We have developed our organizational and supervisory skills and are now
looking for a challenge to further hone our abilities. We understand that the current caretakers are retiring, and
we would like to “throw our hats in the ring” and apply for the positions.

Gary has been employed by Omni Source Corporation since 1998 as a Heavy Equipment Operator and
General Utility Worker. He has recently gone into semi retirement status due to lack of business. Bobi is has
been employed by Brooks Billboard Corporation since 1985 on a part time basis. She also serves as a Caretaker
for Oak and Rose Homes of the OWE and is responsible for the property maintenance of two, four unit
buildings and one single family home. We are both lifelong residents of Toledo, Ohio and have chosen to live in
the OWE because we are personally and professionally dedicated to historic preservation.

We have, in our various non profit fund raising activities, organized over 50 events in the last 10 years.
We have been directly responsible for these events. They ranged from banquets, art shows, and entertainment
shows to weekend retreats and week long trips to Pennsylvania. We were successful at the planning, preparation
and execution of: meals, sleeping accommodations, restroom facilities, vending arrangements, and parking. We
have specialized in the preparing and serving of food in historically correct fashion i.e. costumes, recipes, and
accoutrements. We have had multiple opportunities to work with a myriad of vendors, management, staff and
customers. We are prepared with a dedicated part time staff that can be called upon to provide almost any
service that the customer might need.

We are friends and business partners who after working and living together for over a dozen years feel
that our stability, and past successes have prepared us to take on the responsibilities of Caretakers of the Mansion
View Inn. We are also very comfortable with the unexpected and possess a great deal of flexibility that was hard
earned from working under a wide variety of circumstances.
Introduction and Experiences
Bobi Axtell’s grandmother was a maid for a doctor’s family in the OWE in the 1940’s and shehas
always wanted to live in the OWE. She began working in there in 1996 and since then has worked in and
outside of over a dozen OWE Homes. She currently maintains the property of two four unit buildings and one
single family unit inside the OWE and two properties in Toledo. She finally moved to the OWE in 2008.

Gary Grince has resided in the OWE at several location at various times since 1978. He has a strong
work history with not only with Omni Source Corporation of Toledo but also worked for Hoffer Food Service
and Ransom and Randolf for over 10 years each. His semi retirement status has left him with time that he
would like to fill with stable employment.

We are interested in becoming the Caretakers of the Mansion View Inn, Bed and Breakfast because we
are qualified, capable and in the position to take good care of the Mansion view. We are Founders of a non
profit organization and board members for over 10 years. We are current and past members of various other
organizations we have successfully produced events such as:

Boar’s Head Feasting Hall 1997 – 2008 Location: Fort Meigs, Camp Pioneer. Event: Six weekend long
catering events in various historical settings. 500 – 1000 Meals per weekend - 10 Staff

educational recreation of a medieval village that included many live action scenes depicting life in the mid 12th

Producing these events have taught us a great deal about customer service, food service, catering, and
event planning. We have been responsible for the satisfaction of hundreds of guests at a time, from their first
entrance to an event until the moment that the event ends. Satisfying our customer’s needs has taught us to be
very flexible and has given us the ablility to handle any situation from giving directions to full blown
emergencies. We have produced five course meals for hundreds of people in outdoor kitchens that we have set
up. We have coordinated with camp grounds in other states to facilitate weeklong working retreats for dozens
and have always achieved complete customer satisfaction
