3.2 Broad Curriculum-EEP Inputs 3.3A Core Inputs (A1, A2, S1)
A1: Analytical Skill I (Reasoning): The following topics would be covered: Verbal Reasoning:
Coding & Decoding, Blood Relations, Puzzle Test The above mentioned topics are required to be discussed in order to develop and check how well & fast the student identifies the relationship among the classes and develops a useful pattern. Output Tracing, Direction Sense Test, Alpha Numeric Sequence Puzzle, Number

Ranking &

Time Sequence Test

The above mentioned topics are required to be discussed because a sequence is given. The student is required to identify the pattern of that sequence and determine the output accordingly. These topics judges how fast a person would identify the root cause of the problem in a chronological order

Mathematical Operations, Arithmetical Reasoning, Inserting the Missing Character

The above mentioned topics are required to be taught so that the student is able to identify the useful mathematical operations like subtraction, multiplication, division. .

Data Sufficiency The above mentioned topic is required to be discussed in order to judge how much amount of minimum resources are required for a student to take a successful decision .In such type of questions the problem is given followed by certain statements containing facts providing facts to answer the given questions. Reason & Assertion These questions are meant to judge the student knowledge and with it his ability to reason out correctly.

Verbal Reasoning (Logic) : Logic Deduction, Statement & Assumptions ,Statement & Argument,Statement & Course of Action,Evaluating Inferences,Cause & Effect Reasoning The above mentioned topics are required to be discussed and solved as per the information given without the concern of the formal validity or truth of the statements i.e conclusion should follow directly from the statement given. Non-Verbal Reasoning: Series, Analogy, Classification, Analytical Reasoning In the above mentioned topics there is a sequence of figures depicting a change step by step. The student is required to identify the next possible pattern or the odd one out pattern. Such questions highlights how can a student would be able to differentiate between almost similar kind of situations.

b) A2: Analytical Skill II (Quantitative)

Number Systems: Vedic Mathematics, Divisibility Tests, Factors and Multiples, Concept of Unit Digit, Remainder Theorem Calculation of Number of Zeros in a factorial, Averages, Ratio, Proportion

The above mentioned a required to be discuss so that a student is able to well verse with use of Numbers and their mathematical operations very quickly through shortcuts.

Percentages and Interest Calculations, Profit and Loss The above mentioned topics are required to be discuss in order that a student is able to solve the questions related to the daily life profit/loss or percentage calculation.

Calculations, Relative Speed, Boat & River, Races, Head start in Races .Time and Work, Problems on Cisterns The above mentioned problems are required to be discussed so that the student is able to quickly solve the problem related to Speed, Distance & Time related to trains ,boats& Cisterns.

Permutation and Combination The above mentioned type of problem are required to be discuss so that the student is able to judge the possible (probabilistic) outcome of the decision he has taken. Data Interpretation: Different types of charts In such type of problems the data is presented in the graphical chart form or the tabular form and the student is required to identify and analyse the past or the future trend.

c) S1: Soft Skills :

Ice-breaking Orientation This input is being provided so that the student is able to know the rules and regulations and the concept of the EEP. Grooming and Etiquette, Verbal Communication, Writing Skills ,Social Courtesies and Individual Social Responsibility, Personal and Professional Values ,Presentation Skills, Group Discussion The above mentioned inputs are required to be covered so that overall grooming and makeover can be done for the student so that he is able to present well in the placement drive. Know Yourself , Resume (Online Resume-Template) , Interview Skills The above mentioned inputs are required so that the student is able to present himself well in the interviews by having a well made resume and the desired interview skills.

3.3B Technical Inputs (by teaching department) : Technical inputs may be

defined as the basic knowledge of certain areas/specialization/domain which are very critical and important for the placement of the students .For B.Tech students, C, C++ is an example of technical input.

(a) T1: Technical Skill I

The cycle is dedicated to the technical inputs, mainly the programming skill inputs, for e.g. C,C++ and Computer Literacy would be provided to all the engineering disciplines by the Computer Science department. The Computer Input will be compulsory for all Engineering Disciplines, if departments feel the need to teach some department specific techniques, they can add more EEP slots on their own or can teach the content in the Semester that follows the last EEP Cycle. For disciplines

other that Engineering, the DOD may decide to give Department specific inputs in this cycle (for e.g. Pharmacy) , but this needs to be informed to the Central EEP Team, before the initiation of S1 cycle. (b) T2:

Technical Skill II

Dedicated to department inputs (if any) and extensive tests. Students will attend their EEP sessions regularly and would be rigorously tested on all the previous EEP inputs. Workshops will be conducted on weekends to conduct tests and discuss the test papers used by various companies.

4) Tests
Tests during EEP inputs
4.1 For every EEP input there will be one MTE and one ETE just like regular course which will be conducted by examination. There would be 30 % & 70 % weightage for MTE & ETE respectively. These evaluations/tests shall be used as one of the components constituting criteria to determine promotion of student to next cycle of EEP. 4.2 There will be two academic tasks before MTE and two academic tasks after MTE to be conducted by respective EEP teacher in his/her class. 4.3 MTE/ETE/Homework will be objective type. Tests by Outside agencies. 4.4 In addition to this there may be a diagnostic test and benchmarking test to be conducted by DSCS for certain programmes. 1. The Diagnostic Test: This test is aimed at having a first-hand idea of the strengths and weaknesses of the students with respect to skills on which the recruiters test the students during selection process. This test may be conducted at end of Cycle I or II (or in the beginning ) 2. The Benchmarking Tests: These are the industry standard test conducted by representative bodies (third-party organizations) of different industries. The scores of these tests are recognized by and used by the recruiting companies during their recruitment processes (not just during campus placements but also otherwise if students directly approach the company) These tests shall be conducted tentatively during Cycle III of the EEP. Based on the results and ranking of student in these tests, better students shall be exposed to better companies as per criteria laid down by respective companies during their selection process. To name a few, tests like NACHTECH Test for IT/ITeS based companies, AMCAT for multidisciplinary evaluation, or any other such benchmarking tests can be organized for the respective students. It shall be mandatory for every student to take these tests respective to their stream/discipline. EEP Master Plan Page 7 of 17

Other Practise Tests : Apart from the above mentioned tests every student is supposed to take several practise tests/evaluations to be conducted during or after each cycle of EEP. The fee of Rs.1750 is charged from students during the registration for conducting benchmarking and diagnostic tests. This is non-refundable fee. However, if the actual expenditure incurred (per student) for conducting these tests is below Rs. 1750 then the excess shall be refunded back to students subsequently. Alternatively, if the actual expenditure incurred (per student) for conducting these test is above Rs. 1750 then it shall be received from student or adjusted from the security amount (Rs. 2,000) deposited by the student.

5) Cycle through Cycle Transition of student

As can be noted in Tables given below, various cycles of EEP are mutually exclusive over schedule. A student shall be allowed to move to next cycle if and only if he/she successfully clears the current cycle 5.1 Successful completion of a cycle: A student is said to successfully complete/clear a cycle provided he/she satisfies each of the following criteria. a. Attendance: A student needs to secure a cumulative attendance of 90% taking into consideration all types of activities conducted for the student in respective (current) cycle. A relaxation of 10% in this criteria is offered to student in terms of medical allowance, thereby, requiring a student to secure at least 80% attendance in current cycle so as to progress to next cycle. b. Qualifying Score: A student has to score satisfactory grades pertaining to various tests (and evaluations) conducted during or at end of current cycle. The tests may be conducted internally by LPU or may be outsourced to third parties. The detailed criteria of cycle wise qualifying score is stated in Tables as under.
