3.2 Broad Curriculum-EEP Inputs 3.3A Core Inputs (A1, A2, S1)
A1: Analytical Skill I (Reasoning): The following topics would be covered: Verbal Reasoning:
Coding & Decoding, Blood Relations, Puzzle Test The above mentioned topics are required to be discussed in order to develop and check how well & fast the student identifies the relationship among the classes and develops a useful pattern. Output Tracing, Direction Sense Test, Alpha Numeric Sequence Puzzle, Number
Ranking &
Data Sufficiency The above mentioned topic is required to be discussed in order to judge how much amount of minimum resources are required for a student to take a successful decision .In such type of questions the problem is given followed by certain statements containing facts providing facts to answer the given questions. Reason & Assertion These questions are meant to judge the student knowledge and with it his ability to reason out correctly.

Verbal Reasoning (Logic) : Logic Deduction, Statement & Assumptions ,Statement & Argument,Statement & Course of Action,Evaluating Inferences,Cause & Effect Reasoning The above mentioned topics are required to be discussed and solved as per the information given without the concern of the formal validity or truth of the statements i.e conclusion should follow directly from the statement given. Non-Verbal Reasoning: Series, Analogy, Classification, Analytical Reasoning In the above mentioned topics there is a sequence of figures depicting a change step by step. The student is required to identify the next possible pattern or the odd one out pattern. Such questions highlights how can a student would be able to differentiate between almost similar kind of situations.
The above mentioned a required to be discuss so that a student is able to well verse with use of Numbers and their mathematical operations very quickly through shortcuts.
Percentages and Interest Calculations, Profit and Loss The above mentioned topics are required to be discuss in order that a student is able to solve the questions related to the daily life profit/loss or percentage calculation.
Calculations, Relative Speed, Boat & River, Races, Head start in Races .Time and Work, Problems on Cisterns The above mentioned problems are required to be discussed so that the student is able to quickly solve the problem related to Speed, Distance & Time related to trains ,boats& Cisterns.

other that Engineering, the DOD may decide to give Department specific inputs in this cycle (for e.g. Pharmacy) , but this needs to be informed to the Central EEP Team, before the initiation of S1 cycle. (b) T2:
Technical Skill II
Dedicated to department inputs (if any) and extensive tests. Students will attend their EEP sessions regularly and would be rigorously tested on all the previous EEP inputs. Workshops will be conducted on weekends to conduct tests and discuss the test papers used by various companies.
4) Tests
Tests during EEP inputs
4.1 For every EEP input there will be one MTE and one ETE just like regular course which will be conducted by examination. There would be 30 % & 70 % weightage for MTE & ETE respectively. These evaluations/tests shall be used as one of the components constituting criteria to determine promotion of student to next cycle of EEP. 4.2 There will be two academic tasks before MTE and two academic tasks after MTE to be conducted by respective EEP teacher in his/her class. 4.3 MTE/ETE/Homework will be objective type. Tests by Outside agencies. 4.4 In addition to this there may be a diagnostic test and benchmarking test to be conducted by DSCS for certain programmes. 1. The Diagnostic Test: This test is aimed at having a first-hand idea of the strengths and weaknesses of the students with respect to skills on which the recruiters test the students during selection process. This test may be conducted at end of Cycle I or II (or in the beginning ) 2. The Benchmarking Tests: These are the industry standard test conducted by representative bodies (third-party organizations) of different industries. The scores of these tests are recognized by and used by the recruiting companies during their recruitment processes (not just during campus placements but also otherwise if students directly approach the company) These tests shall be conducted tentatively during Cycle III of the EEP. Based on the results and ranking of student in these tests, better students shall be exposed to better companies as per criteria laid down by respective companies during their selection process. To name a few, tests like NACHTECH Test for IT/ITeS based companies, AMCAT for multidisciplinary evaluation, or any other such benchmarking tests can be organized for the respective students. It shall be mandatory for every student to take these tests respective to their stream/discipline. EEP Master Plan Page 7 of 17
Other Practise Tests : Apart from the above mentioned tests every student is supposed to take several practise tests/evaluations to be conducted during or after each cycle of EEP. The fee of Rs.1750 is charged from students during the registration for conducting benchmarking and diagnostic tests. This is non-refundable fee. However, if the actual expenditure incurred (per student) for conducting these tests is below Rs. 1750 then the excess shall be refunded back to students subsequently. Alternatively, if the actual expenditure incurred (per student) for conducting these test is above Rs. 1750 then it shall be received from student or adjusted from the security amount (Rs. 2,000) deposited by the student.

Note: a. Compulsory Curriculum Benchmark: Besides satisfying all the conditions for having a transition from one cycle to another cycle. The student can still be debarred from getting a EEP input if he/she is not scoring required minimum grade in the few selected subjects taught in the curriculum. As under 1. The student has to get a minimum score in English course (studied over various terms: 2nd, 3rd & 4th depending upon Level English course the student is studying) before getting the S1 input. 2. Other important courses domain wise like score in C language (studied over various terms) before getting the T1 & T2 input respectively as per the policy. More subjects may be added on later. b. Behavioural Norms: A student must conform to norms of behaviour, dress code, attitude and ethics throughout the EEP (and not just until the time he is placed) and afterwards. c. Other Parameters: A student must conform to any other parameters or conditions or such part of the policy which may be notified and/or modified later. 5.2 The cycle through cycle transition: The following series of tables (Tables 2 through 5) chart The cycle through cycle transition of a student on the basis of Attendance and Qualifying score in tests/evaluations conducted during/after respective cycles ,provided that the student fulfils of criteria mentioned below.

The hostel fees during the summer term would be borne by the student. 5.3 Important note in context of Debarment and Re-registration: a. A student may be debarred during any of the cycles (I through V) on the grounds of violation of criteria as mentioned above. b. If a preliminary or final status of a student for any given cycle is declared to be DEBARRED, the student loses chances of re-registration. Such students cannot even participate in any of the subsequent placement-related activities and recruitment drives. c. If preliminary status of a student allows him/her to re-register with some fee, then student shall not be allowed to participate in any placement-activities or drives until he re-registers. If a student does not re-register for next cycle within stipulated time frame (as notified through UMS), it shall be assumed that student is no longer interested to seek placement assistance from the university and shall be permanently debarred. d. In order to re-register for next cycle (as applicable), the student shall submit the following by the dates announced through UMS: Deposit the requisite fee (Rs. 1,000 or Rs. 2,000) in accounts and furnish a copy of the receipt of same to the Department of Placements.
