Group 1: Catchment Analysis of Vashi (Map, Key residential nodes, key business nodes, key markets (organized / unorganized), profile of people, socio economic classification, estimate number of HH, Post Office beats, location of malls / retail stores, from a marketing perspective which are the key areas and media that you would like to use and why ATL (print, outdoor, TV) and BTL) Group 2: Food & Grocery Options and Motivations to select a particular format (Choose 4 different store formats that offer Food & Grocery say Hypercity, Food Bazaar or DMart, Reliance Fresh or More or Spinach and APMC (or a mandi). Develop a questionnaire and conduct a survey on customers across these 4 stores to understand why they use a particular store, what are their expectations, how much do they travel, how frequently do they visit the store, are their expectations met, what is the quality / price trade off they do, etc.) Group 3: Home Electronics - Options and Motivations to select a particular format (choose 3 or 4 outlets that offer Home Electronics Reliance Digital, EZone, Kings Electronics or Arcee Electronice, Vijay Sales and a smaller showroom. Study the format and the merchandise available range, depth, no. of brands, ambiance, customer service, space, experience, displays, location, etc. Develop a questionnaire and conduct a survey on customers across these 4 stores to understand why they use a particular store, what are their expectations, how much do they travel, how frequently do they visit the store, are their expectations met, what is the quality / price trade off they do, etc.) Group 4: Comparative Study on 3 malls in close vicinity (CentreOne, InOrbit, Raghuleela) (choose 3 malls say Centre One, InOrbit and Raghuleela. Do a comparative study on their size, location, facilities available, SWOT, tenant mix, anchor stores, etc. Develop a questionnaire and conduct a survey on customers across these 3 malls to understand why they come to a particular mall, do they patronize one mall, or go to other malls as well, what are their expectations, how much do they travel, how frequently do they visit the mall, are their expectations met, what is the quality / price trade off they do, etc.)

Group 5: Reviving City Centre and Palm Beach Galleria as shopping Destinations (New Bomay, and especially Vahi, is a mall owners nightmare. In a small area of 4 square kms, there would be no les than 10 malls. This has resulted in a scenario where some malls are struggling to stay afloat. Two such malls that are struggling are CC and PBG. Find out the reasons why these two malls are struggling. The resons should be based on a survey on the catchment. You may want to talk to customers in the vicinity who used to come to these malls earlier but have stopped coming now. Develop a strategy to revive the two malls. You should cover aspects such as tenant mix, marketing activities, facilities offered, conducting activities together, etc. in order to come up with your strategy. You may also want to talk to customers to find out what is it that will make them patronize these two malls) Group 6: Category Analysis across formats (Branded Namkeens across BB, Dmart, RF, InOrbit, FB) (Pick 4 different formats say Hypercity, FB, DMrt and RF. Choose a particular branded category say Branded namkeen. Do a comparative study amongs these 4 stores to understand the no. of brands, no. of variants, no. of shelves for display, no. of pieces per SKU, price for ach SKU. Compare the stores on range v/s prices) Group 7: Customer Satisfaction & Loyalty

(Pick any 4 apparel stores- Westside, SS, Pantaloon, Globus conduct a survey to find out the reasons customers choose a particular store over other, how often do they come there, how much they purchase, how ofern do they go to other stores included in the study, do they have their loyalty cards, compare their satisfaction levels, etc. Also compare the loyalty programmes of these retailers)
